‘Are You The One’ Has Produced A Baby — And A Reunion Special + Season 2 Premiere Date!!!

0
0
Amber and Ethan are going to be parents, and they'll be gathering with their former cast mates to celebrate!

From the Truth Booth to parenthood!

Amber and Ethan earned some very special distinctions among the “Are You the One” crew: they were the show’s first perfect match and, during the reunion special, Ethan dropped to one knee and asked Amber to be his wife (we’re getting verklempt just thinking about it).

And now, the couple is gearing up for their next big roles: mom and dad! Fortunately for fans, they’re celebrating the happy news with a baby shower/reunion special — “ATYO”-style. That’s right, the gang is gathering to fete Amber and Ethan’s growing family, and in the process, we’ll find out who’s made up, who’s broken up…and who’s still hooking up.

But back to the parents-to-be. MTV News recently caught up with the excited twosome, and they couldn’t help but marvel at how much their lives have changed since they entered the “AYTO” house nearly a year ago.

“I went into this show pretty open-minded but not expecting anything,” said Amber, who is in her second trimester. “Especially not expecting anything near this!”

Ethan echoed his fiancee’s sentiments. “This has been beyond anything we had ever imagined in our wildest dreams,” he said. “But I think that’s what brought us to this point in our lives, because we went in to the whole situation very open-minded and not really having expectations. Just kind of appreciating everything for what it was.”

The couple, who plan to raise the baby in Austin, don’t know if they’re having a boy or a girl — but they do know that this Christmas will be one to remember (Amber’s due in December).

“We’re just looking forward to having a healthy baby,” Ethan gushed.

As for becoming husband and wife, there’s no rush — mainly because their priorities have changed since they learned they were expecting.

“We’ve kind of both decided it’s not so much about us anymore — it’s really about the baby,” Amber said. “So it’s just not worth being pregnant and stressing about planning a wedding. That’s a lot of stress to put on a fetus.”

Speaking of stress, let’s hope the couple don’t ask any of their former cast mates to babysit — even though they would trust them to care for the wee one.

“They know how particular how Amber and I are,” a chuckling Ethan said. “But if anything were to happen, they would be more afraid of Amber and I than anyone else.”

And while the parents-to-be probably wouldn’t have met if they didn’t embark on their TV journey, would they let their offspring enter the “AYTO” house?

“No!” Ethan exclaimed.

“I want to say yes because we had such a good time and amazing things happened from it,” Amber said. “But now that I’m in mama mode, it’s no.”

As for any wisdom to share with the hopefuls on Season 2, Ethan’s message is a simple one.

“Appreciate every moment,” he said.

Be sure to tune in to the baby special on Monday, September 22 at 10/9c and the Season 2 premiere on Monday, September 29 at 10/9c.

Since everyone on the Internet felt personally violated when they discovered that "First Kiss" was a promo video for a clothing line (and not a documentary I guess?) featuring strangers who happened to be gorgeous actors instead of strangers with other jobs, steel yourself before watching because this one is also a promo, this time for Showtime's Masters Of Sex.
But who cares? It's hot people who don't know each other taking off each other's clothes. That's why we're all here. Press play.

Rachel Weisz in Talks to Join Michael Fassbender in ‘Light Between Oceans

Weisz-News-618x400

Oscar winner Rachel Weisz is in early talks to join Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander in Derek Cianfrance's DreamWorks drama “The Light Between Oceans,” TheWrap has learned.

Set on a remote Australian island in the years following World War I, story follows a lighthouse keeper and his wife who are faced with a moral dilemma when a boat washes ashore with a dead man and a two-month-old infant. When they decide to raise the child as their own, the consequences of their choice are devastating.

Weisz has an offer and is in early discussions to play the mother of that child.

Gravity” producer David Heyman will produce through his Heyday Films banner along with Jeffrey Clifford. Rosie Alison will executive produce, having brought the book into Heyday.

Light Between Oceans” is based on the international bestseller from first-time novelist M.L. Stedman, whose book has been translated into nearly 30 languages since it was published in the U.S. in July 2012 by Scribner.

Weisz recently starred in the big-budget blockbusters “The Bourne Legacy” and “Oz the Great and Powerful,” so “Oceans” would represent a refreshing change of pace that would highlight the “Constant Gardener” star's considerable talents. She has been making smart choices lately, working with international directors such as Paolo Sorrentino and Giorgos Lanthimos on “Youth” and “The Lobster,” respectively.

Weisz is represented by CAA, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, Independent Talent Group and Hirsch Wallerstein.

Dwight Howard tweets #FreePalestine, immediately deletes and apologizes

Dwight Howard has stepped right into the middle of a heated political issue - tweeting #FreePalestine - and then immediately deleting it, apologizing and calling it a "mistake."

On Saturday afternoon, the NBA star offered no explanation as to why he posted the #FreePalestine tweet, but it seems it was motivated by the current situation in the Middle East.

Moments after the tweet went up, it went down. And the backpeddling began:

The Hills character Kelly Cutrone: "$1 Million Isn't A Lot of Money Anymore"

0
0

$1 million may seem like a hefty annual salary to the average person, but for PR maven Kelly Cutrone, it can go quickly.

The 48-year-old single mom and founder of fashion publicity firm People's Revolution, known for her various reality TV appearances, tells the Huffington Post: 'I personally have made a million dollars a year - that's not a lot of money anymore, just do the math.'

She proceeds to break down her largest expenses: 'The taxes alone are at $300,000-$400,000. Then you have agents and managers and business managers that take another 5 percent, throw in private school in New York City, that's like $44,000.

Ms Cutrone, who lives in New York’s swanky Soho neighborhood with her 12-year-old daugter Ava, adds: 'A nanny is like $60,000 to $70,000. I support my mom. A New York apartment, $8,000. A mortgage on my house, another $5,000 and $24,000 in taxes there. It's $650 a month to park my car.'

In addition to running her successful company, Ms Cutrone, 48, was a recurring character on MTV's The Hills and its spinoff, The City, serving as a mentor to Whitney Port.

Her persona as a tough-as-nails fashion boss made her a fan favorite, and she subsequently earned her own Bravo reality series, Kell on Earth, which lasted for a season in 2010.

Her small-screen stints proved surprisingly lucrative.

'I went on the The Hills for free. I thought this is a great way to get my clients' messages out. By the time I left I was making a shit load of money -- like $50,000 an episode. So you do 12 episodes and you make $600,000 dollars - that to me is a good game,' she tells the Huffington Post.

The exposure also led to a judging gig on America's Next Top Model and a New York Times best-seller. In 2010, she imparted her blunt career advice in If You Have to Cry, Go Outside: And Other Things Your Mother Never Told You.

She cites her TV work as a reason for her longevity in the fashion world, observing: 'I've had a great level of success, more than most people in my industry, and I still have to work every day.

'The people who I know who have owned PR firms either end up in rehab, they go swim with dolphins, they join Greenpeace, they join a lesbian commune in Vermont or they quietly go away and you don't see them anymore.'

One Direction Beat Everybody By Bringing In $131.5 Million On Tour

0
0

One Direction isn’t losing any of their grip on pop culture, judging from the band’s ability to fill seats. The British hearthrobs sold 1.6 million tickets at just 31 stadium shows, grossing $131.5 million on tour in the first half of 2014, according to a mid-year report from Pollstar. Expect them to top the year-end report, too—the band hasn’t started its North American stadium tour, which launches in August.

One Direction led the list of the top 100 worldwide concert tours. The Rolling Stones–whose average ticket price was $177, compared to One Direction’s $81–came in at No.2 with $115.1 million. Rounding out the international top 5 were Justin Timberlake ($110.2 million), Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band ($64.9 million) and Michael Buble ($62.2).

Among North American tours, country star George Strait led the pack, with a gross of $61.8 million for 26 concerts celebrating his retirement from touring. Other top ticket sellers included Billy Joel ($50.7 million), Cher ($48.5 million), Justin Timberlake ($33.9 million) and co-headliners Paul Simon and Sting, who pulled in $29.5 million.

Overall, sales have fallen this year: The top 100 North American tours grossed $1.03 billion combined, down 17% from the same time last year. The volume of tickets sold fell 12.6% to 15.3 million, despite the fact that the average price of a ticket dropped to $67.58, down from a record high last year of $70.91.

Pollstar attributed some of the sales decline to the fact that bands are playing more music festivals, which aren’t included in the overall tour tallies. Speaking of which, Coachella racked up the biggest revenue haul of any concert event this year, grossing $78.3 over its two sold-out weekends (and $10 million more than the festival pulled in last year).

"'She's a really good person,' says Chatham girl who met Lady Gaga"

A Chatham girl who survived a brain tumour had a dream come true Wednesday night when she met Lady Gaga. Ten-year-old Avery Fournier spent 15 minutes with the entertainer following her Toronto concert. For a 10-year-old who's no stranger to fighting battles, the encounter was inspirational.

“She’s a really good person. She’s not just about the fame, she cares too, about…the fans.” And it was also a “shocking” encounter as Avery’s mother didn’t tell her about the surprise beforehand. “She was keeping it a secret from me.” Avery says Lady Gaga told her to stand up for herself and be herself. Avery is an inspiration herself, having battled a brain tumour that left her legally blind. She can’t see more than 16 inches away.

The backstage meeting happened after her mother reached out to The Toronto Star…who managed to get word to Lady Gaga's staff. “It was exciting for me because I’ve been pushing for this for so long,” says Avery’s mother Chris. She says it was touching to see the star get right up close to her daughter’s face for about 30 seconds and rub noses. Avery also received an autographed concert book from Lady Gaga. The tickets to the concert were given to her by an anonymous donor.

Blind Brain Tumour Survivor Dreams of Meeting Lady Gaga at Toronto Show

Brain tumour survivor Avery Fournier can’t see anything unless it’s 16 inches in front of her face. The 10-year-old is thrilled to be going to Lady Gaga’s concert in Toronto on Wednesday evening, but she won’t be able to see her idol from her seat. It’s her mother’s greatest wish for her legally blind daughter to meet the superstar, whose positive anthems of self-acceptance and motivation were the soundtrack to her recovery. “I can just envision Lady Gaga walking towards Avery and Avery not knowing until she’s pretty much nose to nose with her,” says her mother Chris Fournier. “I get goosebumps every time. That is all I can imagine for her. And she so deserves it after everything.”

Fournier and her family were at the Santa Claus Parade in their hometown of Chatham last December when she noticed that her daughter was “walking funny” and having trouble seeing. Fournier took the Grade 5 student to the eye doctor, then an ophthalmologist. The family was then sent straight to an emergency room in London, Ont., where a doctor delivered shocking news. “They told us there was a tennis ball-sized brain tumour at the base of her cerebellum and it needed to come out immediately,” recalls Fournier, choking back tears. “We were literally one week away from her death.” Avery was rushed into surgery that night. Doctors were able to remove 70 per cent of the tumour. She is now legally blind.

At crucial moments during her recovery, Avery would stick in her white earbuds and listen to her favourite Lady Gaga songs, among them “Donatella” and “Bad Romance.” “After her surgery in the hospital she would listen to her all the time, she was her motivation,” explains Fournier.“When she had to take a couple steps to a chair it wasn’t me, it was Gaga,” says Fournier with a laugh, “I’m not in her ear screaming at her.” When she had to make the trek from her hospital bed to the washroom, again it was Lady Gaga who got her there. “She’s been a huge inspiration for what she’s had to go through,” says Fournier.

Avery has also drawn strength from the pop star’s messages of self-acceptance and anti-bullying with songs like “Born this Way,” as she struggles to adjust in school, where she has to have things printed in size 40 font to be able to see and is learning how to type. “In school the kids were making fun of her, saying, ‘You’re faking it,’ ” says Fournier. Family friend Yolla Abraham was surprised at first that the fifth grader was such a fan of the pop star who she sometimes finds “a little out there.” But Lady Gaga resonates, she said. “Kids may not do exactly what she’s doing, but they’re looking at her and see that she’s confident and she could care less what other people are saying.”

Fournier was able to secure two tickets to Gaga’s concert in Toronto from a stranger on Kijiji after she explained Avery’s situation in a message and urged him to get his child’s eyes tested. “I’m not sure people are aware that children in Ontario are allowed one free eye check (a year),” she says. “That’s how we found Avery’s tumour,” she says. The man emailed back and gave her the tickets for free. The seats at the Air Canada Centre are in section 300, where Avery will be able to hear, but not see, Gaga sing her favourite songs from her latest album, ARTPOP.

Fournier says she has tried to contact Gaga’s staff and her Born this Way Foundation, as well as various fan sites to ask them about Avery meeting Lady Gaga. She has yet to hear back. She has also posted Avery’s drawings on Gaga’s LittleMonsters site, which encourages fans to express their passion and creativity in an accepting online community in the spirit of the ARTPOP album.

“She is just a 10-year-old girl trying to get though this rough patch in her life and to me, she is the epitome of that album, minus the songs with bad words,” says Fournier.

Release Date: October 28th, 2014

They have also released the summary of the second book:

In the second book in the New York Times bestselling mystery series, Veronica Mars is back with a case that will expose the hidden workings of one of Neptune’s most murderous locations.

The Neptune Grand has always been the seaside town’s ritziest hotel, despite the shady dealings and high-profile scandals that seem to follow its elite guests. When a woman claims that she was brutally assaulted in one of its rooms and left for dead by a staff member, the owners know that they have a potential powder keg on their hands. They turn to Veronica to disprove—or prove—the woman's story.

The case is a complicated mix of hard facts, mysterious occurrences, and uncooperative witnesses. The hotel refuses to turn over its reservation list and the victim won’t divulge who she was meeting that night. Add in the facts that the attack happened months ago, the victim’s memory is fuzzy, and there are holes in the hotel’s surveillance system, and Veronica has a convoluted mess on her hands. As she works to fill in the missing pieces, it becomes clear that someone is lying—but who? And why?

Marc Jacobs''Daisy Dream' takes on the style of Sofia Coppola's 'The Virgin Suicides'

0
0

Sofia Copoala's stylish, iconic film "The Virgin Suicides" was released 15 years ago but is still influences fashion today.

Spring2013Coppola4

If you aren't familiar, the film, starring Kirsten Dunst tells of the events surrounding the lives of five sisters in an upper-middle class suburb of Detroit during the 1970s. After the youngest sister makes an initial attempt at suicide, the sisters are put under close scrutiny by their parents, eventually being put into near-confinement, which leads to increasingly depressive and isolated behaviour.

Just this year, Coppola revisited the film's style directing a "Virgin Suicides"-like ad campaign for Marc Jacobs' new fragrance, "Daisy Dream." The 30-second video shows model Antoino Wesseloh wearing a gauzy white dress, lying in a field of daisies. Sleigh Bells provides the soundtrack.

Daisy Dream

Sofia Coppola directed a “Virgin Suicides”-like ad campaign for Marc Jacobs’ new fragrance, “Daisy Dream.”

Released online earlier today, the 30-second video shows model Antoino Wesseloh wearing a gauzy white dress, lying in a field of daisies. Sleigh Bells provides the soundtrack.

Fashionista notes that Coppola and Jacobs have collaborated many times before: she’s previously directed his Daisy fragrance campaigns, starred in his campaigns, sat front row at shows, worn his designs on the red carpet, collaborated with him on handbags for Louis Vuitton.

"Sofia has been a very dear friend of mine for many, many years. I love her as a person. We've done smaller projects over the years. She modeled in our ads. I love her vision and her voice,"Jacobs told USA Today of Coppola in 2013, commenting on Coppola’s first video for “Daisy.”

"I never think of myself as a perfectionist. I try to do the best job I can. I never feel like that. I work with a really great group of people, as does Sofia. We're all the same head."

I loved doing the commercial for him because we have similar taste, and I think I know what he'd like," Coppola said. "I especially wanted to a good job because it's for my friend."

After two sell-out shows at London’s Wembley Stadium, you might expect hip-hop megastar Eminem to celebrate with a couple of all-night raves at one of the capital’s more blinging hotels.

But Marshall Mathers III has never been one to fit a stereotype.
So after playing to capacity crowds of 80,000 for the last two nights, the rapper kicked back at an elegant stately home in Berkshire – complete with its own polo club and croquet lawns.
Our perfectly placed source confirms: “Eminem made it clear he had no intention of hitting London’s nightclubs and staying in a trendy hotel.

“The swankiest bars were practically throwing themselves at him for the chance to host an after-party for him.
"They were shocked when he said he just wanted to get out into the countryside for a touch of old England.”
The star, who has battled booze and drugs, enjoyed a low-key stay at posh Coworth Park, an 18th century pile on the edge of Windsor Great Park that has hosted royalty and gives Downton Abbey a run for its money.

Nickelodeon Cancels Sam & Cat! There Will Be No Season Two!

0
0

Well it seems that Nickelodeon has indeed cancelled Sam & Cat.

A combined spin-off of Victorious and iCarly, Sam & Cat finds Sam Puckett and Cat Valentine becoming friends and roommates. To make money they start an after-school babysitting business. Maree Cheatham, Cameron Ocasio, and Zoran Korach co-star.

The series was initially picked up for 20 episodes and they started airing in June 2013. It was such a big hit that the cable channel ordered 20 more after just one month of airings.

The series was on track to be renewed for a second season but some backstage issues derailed Sam & Cat towards the end of its first year, resulting in only 36 episodes being produced.

The sitcom was later put on permanent hiatus by Nickelodeom. Well, they appear to have quietly made that decision and the show is over.

The channel recently started airing promos that just two episodes remain. One runs tonight — #WeStealARockStar — while the series finale will air next Saturday, titled #GettinWiggy.

SEE IT: Nine Inch Nails song soothes crying baby

0

This rebel baby will cry you a river — until she hears Nine Inch Nails. Hilarious footage sees the tiny toddler weeping away before her pop puts on a spot of industrial rock.

"Oh," she mumbles at hearing the unusual lullaby, before transforming into the happiest infant alive. Giggling and smiling away, she then starts swaying her body to the beat.

Gary Kennedy uploaded the amusing clip to YouTube — called "How to Stop a Baby Crying with Nine Inch Nails" — last month. It's unclear exactly where the footage was filmed, but it's since gone viral with more than 68,000 views.

"For whatever reason this song always makes her happy," the proud dad wrote in the video's description. The song is 'Copy Of A' by Nine Inch Nails. It's worth the buck or two for the track if it works this well," he said. "I thank Trent Reznor for turning my crying child into a smiling dancer," he added.

Jermaine Dupri: "The Elusive Chanteuse will slay!"

0

Long time collaborator Jermaine Dupri is confident that Mariah Carey has another hit on her hands. Despite having the lowest first week sales of her career with Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse selling 58,000 copies, J.D. does not seem disappointed. He has faith that his executively produced project will build over time.

"I actually feel like it's probably one of her best albums she's ever made," he told Rap-Up TV at the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards. "I'm excited to see where the album ends up. I tell a lot of people, this era of music and this genre, they don't understand records that come out small and sell a lot of records."

The So So Def founder is familiar with these types of situations. J.D.who helped manage the careers of other performers such as Kris Kross and Shad Moss (formerly known as Bow Wow) explained that they experienced something similar before going on to sell millions. "So it's like the first-week sales sometimes don't really matter," he said. "I think people gotta start understanding. If you have a plan and you can put the plan in play, you just gotta keep livin' it out."

Mariah plans to begin shooting the video for her single "You Don't Know What to Do" featuring Wale, which was produced by Dupri.

Bryan Singer Turns Attention To New Comic Book Property; Will He Still Direct 'X-Men: Apocalypse'?

0
0

Though his future with the X-Men franchise is in doubt following accusations of sexual assault, X-Men: Days of Future Past Bryan Singer has in no way been blacklisted in Hollywood and is in fact already pushing forward with another high-profile comic-book property. According to The Tracking Board, Singer is currently developing action fantasy Age of Heroes through his Bad Hat Harry Productions banner.

Based on the ’90s comic series and recent novel of the same name by James Hudnall, Age of Heroes centers on a band of misfits in a fantasy land that is ruled over by gods. But when those all-powerful beings disappear, the misfits are forced to step up and defend their land against new threars. The more complete, official synopsis reads as follows: "When the gods were born, they remade the world in the image of their dreams. This was known as the Age of Gods. When man was created along with other races of beings, fantastic cities were raised, insane magics were forged and unimaginable wars were fought, as the gods battled for supremacy over all creation. This was known as the Age of Wonders. When the gods fled and man was left to make his way in a world full of monsters and arcane magic, some rose up to right wrongs and create justice. This was known as The Age of Heroes."

Newcomer Alex Hollister will write the script. In addition to Singer, Marc Berliner is also attached to produce, as are David Engel and Stephen Emery through their Circle of Confusion company. No word yet on whether Singer also plans to direct Age of Heroes.

There’s also still no official word on whether Singer will be helming X-Men: Apocalypse, Fox’s 2016-slotted Days of Future Past follow-up. He’s currently working on developing the film for Fox, but the recent allegation against him are likely causing studio execs to hesitate in handing him the gig officially (not that his legal troubles appear to have had any effect on the box office earnings of Days of Future Past).

Grumpy Welsh Prince Becomes Full-Time NMTB Host

0
0

Iconic pop quiz Never Mind the Buzzcocks returns to BBC Two later this year with a brand new full-time host - Welsh comedian, Rhod Gilbert. He will join regular team captains Noel Fielding and Phill Jupitus for the 28th series of the anarchic comedy pop quiz show.

A sell-out sensation at the Edinburgh Festival every year from 2005-2012, Rhod is a hugely successful stand-up comedian - his debut live DVD, released in 2009, was that year's fastest selling debut stand-up DVD.

Rhod's wealth of music and comedy knowledge and his experience of guest hosting on Buzzcocks will also stand him in good stead with the powerhouse panel.

Rhod Gilbert says: “After my first Buzzcocks in 2009, I was told I was in with a shout to take over as regular host, and now, just five years later, I got the call. It has all happened so fast. Never Mind the Buzzcocks is one of those rare shows that feels like it belongs on our screens. It's an institution, in a good way. It's a great honour to be asked to take the reins full time and to hang out with Noel and Phill, and I'm equally excited and nervous about adding my name to those who have hosted it in the past."

As ever, the team captains will be joined each week by guest panellists from the world of music, TV and comedy. With the show's ability to attract unpredictable guests there's always the potential for outrageous goings-on - like the moment Ordinary Boys frontman Preston walked out after Simon Amstell read extracts from his Preston's wife's autobiography - or the time that Fun Lovin' Criminals’ frontman Huey Morgan smashed a mug and stormed off the show after being asked to guess his own lyrics by guest hosts Rizzle Kicks.

The 13x30 series has been commissioned by Controller of Entertainment Commissioning Mark Linsey and Ruby Kuraishe, Commissioning Editor for BBC Entertainment, and is Talkback production for BBC Two. James Longman is Executive Producer for Talkback with Suzanne McManus for the BBC.

Mark Linsey says: “Rhod is the perfect host for Buzzcocks. He has great knowledge of music and fantastic comedy talent that will brilliantly complement Noel and Phill.”

Leon Wilson, Talkback MD comments: “It’s a great thrill to welcome Rhod to Britain’s funniest music quiz. As host, he’ll be steering the good ship Buzzcocks through the choppy waters of our guest panellists, hilariously aided and abetted by our brilliant regular team captains and music aficionados Noel and Phill.”

Filming for Never Mind the Buzzcocks begins later in the year for autumn transmission.
