Watch Thor Call Down Lightning In Avengers 2 Set Video

Avengers 2: Age of Ultron is currently filming at the UEA Campus Norwich in England, and we have the only video from the set. It's a Cinema Blend exclusive. Watch as Joss Whedon films an entire scene with Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, and Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, right here…

It's no secret that after the events of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Captain America: The Winter Soldier that there are a LOT of job openings for recruits in the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division. We still haven't seen the impact events of The Avengers made on Tony Stark's shiny new office tower. You know, the one he finished just in time to witness the Chitauri invasion? Well, if you have the same questions we do, then this video may offer a few clues.

In the video, we see a bunch of what looks like recruits jogging on top of or around what could be part of the recently renovated Avengers Tower. Considering the last thing we see at the end of The Avengers is Tony Stark already drawing up plans for a newly designed headquarters, and the fact that we saw the tower's re-branding confirmed thanks to Captain America: The Winter Soldier, we know that Avengers Tower is being used for something other than Tony Stark's personal playground in The Avengers: Age Of Ultron. Perhaps it's training the next generation of badasses.

Given that Director Phil Coulson is now in charge of S.H.I.E.L.D., and he looks up to (who else) Steve Rogers/Captain America, I'd be willing to bet that these are new S.H.I.E.L.D recruits training up as the first class since the H.Y.D.R.A made their lives a living hell. Keeping this in mind, it would also be a safe assumption that the new uniforms are a stylish blue in tribute to the first Avenger himself. Also, it's a nice change from the simple black uniforms everyone wore, and considering Tony Stark is kind of fond of blue from his arc reactor days, the decision was probably a mutual one. Let's just hope Clark Gregg gets that phone call for an extended cameo in The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, because a reunion between Tony and Phil would be one of those moments that'd easily make any top 10 moments of summer 2015 list. Speaking of the friends of Phil, why is Thor calling down the lightning on set?

When you consider how the events of Thor: The Dark World panned out, maybe this this time out Thor's a reluctant warrior. After all, he's just given up the throne of Asgard and started to settle down in England with Jane Foster. Since his favorite travel method is throwing Mjolnir into the sky and taking off for parts unknown, he's probably been summoned to talk with Tony and Steve, only to leave. Of course, it could also go the other way and we'll see Thor spring into solo action investigating some piece of the puzzle himself (or maybe with another Avengers teammate). Either way, it would appear that Thor's departure would then leave Captain America and Iron Man to converse about what their next plan of attack is (and who better for the job?). And that's all well and good, provided that Chris Hemsworth can keep up his skills with his hammer:

A lot of changes seem in store for The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, and with production being quite far along the path to completion, expect to start seeing Marvel slowly leak out more and more official material to slake our thirst for knowledge. At this moment, the new Avengers Tower looks tricked out and ready for action. Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, and Thor all look ready for action too, and we're almost certainly in store for another first act of the character building that Joss Whedon excels at with these types of projects. We're hungry for more after getting this little taste, so stick around. If we land other awesome tidbits of Avengers action, you can bet we'll send them your way!

The Avengers: Age Of Ultron will be rocking the world when it hits theaters on May 1st, 2015.

Ryan Gosling: "How I became a father" Hoax?

$

Claim: Facebook account from actor Ryan Gosling describes the loss of his adopted child.

Coming from Ryan Gosling fan page on Facebook:
“This father's day, I've decided to tell the story of how I became a father. This little guy was only 9 months old when I became his dad. His mom and I were great friends before she passed away from cancer. I promised her, I'd always look after him. So, I had decided to step up and become his dad. He brought me so much joy. He was my everything. 1 year later after the adoption, his biological father wanted him. Of course, I put up a fight, but he won. That 1 year of being his father taught me how to love unconditionally. We have to stop and be thankful for our children and children should stop and be thankful for their parents. What I truly learned most of all is, every child needs love.”

Is this true?

Origins: The above-reproduced post from a Ryan Gosling fan page on Facebook purportedly describes the tear-jerking story of how the actor once adopted a nine-month-old boy after the infant's mother, a friend of his, passed away from cancer — only to lose the child a year later when his biological father reclaimed him.

As far as we know, there is nothing to this story: we've found no previous account of Ryan Gosling ever having an adoptive child, much less losing one. Moreover, the URL included at the end of the Facebook post, supposedly a link readers can follow to help "Save thousands of children," simply leads to a site hawking Limited Edition Ryan Gosling Clothing, leading many viewers to suspect that the original Facebook post was simply a fabricated tale intended to drive web users to an online merchandise outlet.

Quick: if you were the 2014 Bonnaroo festival organizers, what would you book at the same time as the Skrillex Superjam, a three- hour extravaganza featuring every genre, artist and musical texture you could possibly imagine? If your answer was an act that was the polar opposite, you might pick Frank Ocean, who graced The Other Tent at roughly 12:30 am on Saturday night (June 14) and delivered one of the festival’s most calming sets.

The R&B singer said very little to the crowd as he took the stage wearing a simple pink hoodie, easing into “Thinkin Bout You,” “Lost” and then the "Nostalgia/Ultra" favorite “Novacane.” The stage setup was as stripped-down as the music -- Ocean was alone, no drummer or guitar player, and opted to cover the set’s backdrop with metallic gold streamers. The music, presumably coming from a DJ booth somewhere, was a different mix from what users would have heard on any of his albums. It was a raw, minimal version of what listeners heard on "Channel Orange."
Frank Ocean has yet to drop much new music since "Channel Orange" was released two years ago, but he has shown up as a featured artist on a few tracks. He opted not to play these tracks outright on Saturday night, and instead used them as transition songs: his verse from Kanye West’s “New Slaves” was used to transition out of “Novacane,” and the instrumental from Beyonce’s “Superpower” was used as the outro to “Crack Rock.”
Frank Ocean has stunning power over the crowd with just his presence. His onstage demeanor matches how soft-spoken he is during interviews, and at times, it was hard to even hear him sing, because the crowd knew every word to every single one of his songs. In fact, during portions of “Forrest Gump” and “Sweet Life,” he wasn’t even singing, and was instead standing on stage while the music played and the crowd filled in the rest.
“The night goes on -- who is staying out til the sun goes up?” Ocean asked right after playing crowd favorite “Pyramids.” He topped the set with a rare gem, a soft piano line playing as he sang “Wiseman,” a song he originally released just by posting its lyrics to his Tumblr page.
Frank Ocean's live show is so mellow that it’s easy for an eager festival crowd to drown him out with chanting and singing, but that relaxed tone was exactly what was missing from the Bonnaroo lineup, especially on a Saturday filled with amped-up sets from Zedd, Chromeo, Jack White and Cut Copy. With EDM blaring from nearly every tent late into the night hours (and even washing over parts of his quieter tunes), Frank Ocean’s 2014 Bonnaroo set proved to be a much-needed respite from the madness in Manchester.

Setlist:
Thinkin Bout You
Lost
Novacane
New Slaves (Kanye West song)
Crack Rock
Superpower (Beyoncé song)
Forrest Gump
Sweet Life
Pyramids
Wiseman

Tim Gunn: I Want a Project Runway Season With Plus-Size Models

Tim Gunn has a dream: A shakeup at Project Runway. While discussing reality TV with other industry heavyweights during a Hollywood Reporter roundtable, Gunn said he wants to change up the long-running reality series.

"I would like to do a season of Project Runway where every model is larger than a size 12," Gunn said. The Voice's Carson Daly chimed in, "That's a great idea." Pawn Stars producer Brent Montgomery, The Real World co-creator Jonathan Murray, Survivor host Jeff Probst and Duck Dynasty producer Deirdre Gurney also participated in the discussion.

Gunn has been outspoken about models on the show vs. real-life women.

"When I'm working in the real world with real women and we're shopping, we find that fashion seems to end when you get any larger than a size 12," Gunn told The Huffington Post in 2013. "How ridiculous is that?"

He continued, "Go to Lord & Taylor on Fifth Avenue, I think it's the eighth floor, and it's just a department called 'Woman.' It's rather devastating. You've never seen such hideous clothes in your entire life. I mean, it's simply appalling. Thank God there are no windows on that floor, because if I were a size 18, I'd throw myself right out the window [after seeing those clothes]. It's insulting what these designers do to these women."

The average dress size in America is size 14, according to Women's Wear Daily.

Gunn has been with Project Runway since 2004 and also hosts Lifetime's Under the Gunn. He took home an Emmy along with Heidi Klum for hosting Project Runway in 2013.

'Gotham' creators talk about me

Bruno Heller (left) and Danny Cannon (right)

I’ve been eagerly awaiting the summer press tours for the fall TV season, because there are a number of big comic book shows coming. A new Constantine series is interesting. A The Flashseries is a no-brainer. But bringing Batman back to television, and doing it in a gritty TV landscape post The Dark Knight and mid-Arrow is really something.

Gotham is the story of Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie), who begins as a detective investigating the murder of Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz)’s parents. Gordon is partnered with Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) and already faces villains like the Penguin, Carmine Falcone and a budding young Catwoman and Poison Ivy.

The creators of Gotham screened the pilot episode of the series last night and I got to interview them one on one, or one on two as it were. Bruno Heller created the show and Danny Cannon directed the pilot. They spoke openly about their plans for Batman’s most famous villain, and even introducing some others. I have to issue a minor spoiler warning as a matter of course, but I was really careful about anything beyond what's already been in every Batman story, so if you trust me, read on.

When approaching the world of Batman, what made you single out Jim Gordon as the story that had a lot of room earlier on to tell?

Bruno: Because he’s the human moral center of the Batman myth. If Commissioner Gordon doesn’t allow Batman to operate then Batman doesn’t operate. He’s the link between the two worlds, between the dark and the light world. He had a career in a procedural sense. He’s a framework. He’s not a wacky character who goes off to do odd things. He’s a steady paternal figure inside the myth so he’s the natural lead there.

Did it have to start with the murder of Bruce Wayne’s parents? Could it have started even earlier?

Bruno: Yeah, it could have, but storytelling for a big audience, you need to start with, in this case, the nativity. The moment everyone knows and understands and connects to.Did it have to start with the murder of Bruce Wayne’s parents? Could it have started even earlier?

How did you cast the roles of Bruce’s parents, being such a significant scene, but those actors know they only get one scene?

Danny: [Laughs] Well, I think that’s a tribute to the franchise. They don’t care. It’s like Greek mythology. You’ll get to play that play once and people will talk about it for the rest of their lives, back in the day. I think that’s the power of this franchise. People just want to be a part of it.

It seems like you’re not shying away from the wacky characters. We see Oswald Cobblepott, Edward Nygma, Selina Kyle. Did you want to embrace all that we know about those characters?

Bruno: Yeah, you have to. We’re not trying to turn it into Peter Sellars, the opera director. We’re not trying to do “Oh my God, this is a whole different bizarre take on the whole world.” Like it’s set in Nazi Germany or something. The beauty of these characters is that everyone knows and loves them. It would be foolish not to embrace both the comic book aspect of it and the psychologically dark aspect of it, the funny aspect of it.

How long will you hold off on introducing The Joker?

Danny: [Laughs] Heard that question a few times.

Bruno: You win the prize for asking the prize question.

Danny: Million dollar question.

Is there any kind of vague answer you can give me?

Bruno: I would say he is, for everyone involved to a degree because it’s about the villains, he’s the crown jewel in the villains’ crown. So we’re going to be very careful and thoughtful about how we roll that character out.

Danny: We have the luxury in nobody’s ever really delved way back. The amount of thought and time we’ve been allowed to give that is terrific because when we finally do reveal the “real” joker, and that’s a tip, it will be very thought out and worth the wait.

There’s a reason people have avoided the backstory, because he’s such an enigma. Is that daunting to take on?

Danny: It is daunting but the way to take it on is not to go, “Here it is” but “Here it might be. Wait, it’s not that. It’s something else. Wait, it’s not even that.” I think that is the greatest tribute to the Joker, the fact that you may think it’s one thing, it ends up being something else because that guy, I think should never be able to be figured out.

There’s a lot of action in the pilot. Will Jim Gordon be a man of action week to week, always getting in fights and chase?

Danny: No, absolutely not. No, I think his true fight is how does he keep his integrity? How does he maintain that? How does he stay within that corrupt system and still find his humanity. So I think that’s better than any action sequence.

I agree, but was there a network note of “Make sure there’s a lot of action in the pilot?”

Danny: It’s amazing how much support we got from them. I think their favorite shows are our favorite shows. We all love slow burning cable shows and their support for us has been wonderful.

Is there a procedural element, a case of the week?

Bruno: Yeah, as a kind of framework, the central character is a policeman, so it’s a kind of natural skeleton if you like for what we do. It gives both the writers and the audience and the actors a framework to work from, because this world is so rich and free and big, that without that, it could go in any number of directions.

Who are some of the unsung, lesser known Batman characters you would love to give an episode or two?

Danny: I have a big pitch for Bruno of doing Mr. Freeze, the origin story of Mr. Freeze. I’m very excited about that one.

Has there ever been a legitimate, grounded origin story of Mr. Freeze?

Danny: No. So, we’re wide open on that one. The support from DC has been wonderful. Geoff Johns has been a really great person to work with because he knows everything, but he also empowers everybody to go, “Hey man, that’s wide open. Go, go, go.” He really empowers us.

There were two shots in some of the chase scenes that I would call the “Jim Gordon Cam.” It looks like you have a camera attached to him. What is that shot and will it be something you come back to?

Danny: Again, I’m constantly treading this line between reality and camp because that’s always been the franchise, with capes and masks and what not. I was trying to find ways to have a visceral experience but also a cinematic, enjoyable experience. So I would call that my POV cam.

Just to mention another comic book property, you did the first Judge Dredd movie. When the new Dredd movie came out, did you have any feelings about their approach, or was it something you would’ve wanted to do yourself had you been given the leeway?

Danny: That’s a very political question, but I will say this. I was 26 when I did Judge Dredd. I wasn’t old enough, but there was so much of the remake that I wanted to put into the first one and couldn’t. But, in watching the remake, it made me, it made me...

Bruno: Proud. Proud that you had created a character in films that had a life and continuity. Until he’d done that movie, that was a very small, cult, British comic book figure.

Danny: I will say this. It’s funny. I read that comic from 11 years on onwards. I get a lot of fan mail still from that movie and I’m proud of that.

The latest details on Madonna's upcoming album: not nearly done, not pulling a Beyoncé

Is Madonna about to release a surprise album? NO!

Will “Rebel Heart” be the title of Madonna’s upcoming album?
I’ve had several Madonna fans ask me about Madonna’s upcoming album. I, as well as many others, surely thought that she would unleash a surprise single next week. In fact, people from Interscope never denied the rumors. But it ends up being completely false.

The rumors were fueled by fat slob and psychotic douche bag Roger Friedman of Showbiz411, who was fired from several news outlets in the past because of his poor reporting. His article (and I won’t link to him so he could get another page hit) was just the beginning in a Madonna bashing campaign he talked about during a Music Cares event earlier this year with Elton John. Incidentally, Friedman allegedly started another Madonna bashing campaign in 2006 according to these leaked emails, which he has denied even though both email addresses are legit and the information in them is 100 percent accurate. I can’t say that I’ve liked everything Madonna has done and have criticized her myself, but am shocked that her legal team has done nothing about this man, who has the face only a mother can appreciate.

Now, back to the album. It isn’t done. It isn’t even close to being done. Madonna has recorded enough songs to make two or three albums, but like a photographer, more is better since there is more to choose from in the end. All I know is that Interscope is very impressed with what they have heard, and that’s not just PR hype. We often hear of how “great” an album is by an artist’s PR team and when the album is released, it’s not so good. Madonna’s MDNA is a good example. Early hype and early reviews had the album compared to Ray of Light. But when reality hit, it wasn’t nearly as well received.

However, the good buzz for Madonna’s next project comes from within Interscope. But they are concerned and confused about how the album should be marketed. Should it concentrate on the adult contemporary songs she has recorded (there are quite a few)? If nothing but EDM songs make the final cut, will she be accused of recording another MDNA? Interscope knows that radio won’t play the songs, so they are looking to market the songs in other ways.

One of the songs will likely be used for an upcoming movie. Given how Interscope turned the fortunes of Lady Gaga’s “Applause” around by featuring it in a KIA commercial, you can bet they will use the same method for Madonna. There will be some performances, but not many; Madonna’s management and Interscope are aware of how much Madonna is bashed after any performance she gives these days.

Madonna would be wise to learn from the mistakes of Mariah Carey, Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears and other divas, who face an increasingly ageist music industry. If she wants the album to be any type of success, she has to tone down her image. She has been stuck in a “Look at Me!” rut that is turning off some fans who have stood with her since the beginning. This isn’t about ageism, which I admit Madonna is a victim of more than any other pop star in music history. This is about creativity. Madonna ‘s biggest strength has always been the ability to reinvent herself so much that she comes across as fresh both musically and aesthetically. Her current incarnation has run its course into the ground.

She also has to market the album to her audience, which is largely made up of adults in their 40s and 50s. Marketing the album to teenagers (which she has done for her past two albums) will be a nail in the album’s coffin.

In any case, Madonna is no doubt putting more effort into her latest album than she has in years. Let’s just hope the efforts pay off.

Spurs rout Heat in Game 5 for fifth NBA championship

SAN ANTONIO — When the San Antonio Spurs reached the pinnacle for the first of five times and sparked this era that wouldn't end, the player who would hoist the 2014 NBA Finals MVP trophy was an eight-year-old growing up in the Southern California town of Moreno Valley.

It's that sustained success, more than anything else, that makes their run so remarkable.

Fifteen years later, coach Gregg Popovich and his band of old men did it again on Sunday night inside a raucous AT&T Center — with a whole lot of help from 22-year-old Kawhi Leonard. Their 104-87 Game 5 closeout win in the NBA Finals — one in which Leonard had 22 points and 10 rebounds — not only ended the Miami Heat's three-peat bid but polished the already-shiny legacy of the big man whose arrival from Wake Forest in 1997 started this whole special run, Tim Duncan.

Leonard was asked if he saw that team that started it all.

" I don't think I watched the finals when I was 7 years old," he said. "I was busy playing kid games, running around."

Duncan remembers all of the titles. But called this one the most special. In part, because of how last year's run ended with the Spurs blowing a lead late in Game 6 and then losing Game 7. He had gone as far as to say after winning this year's Western Conference Finals that he was confident the Spurs would win it this time.

"It makes last year OK," Duncan said on the court after the game. That loss is the only one in six Finals for the Spurs. They won championships in 1999, 2003, 2005 and 2007 before this year's.

David Robinson sat — no, stood — court side, the iconic Spurs center who retired in 2003 celebrating with the rest of the Spurs faithful. He pumped his fist with a collared shirt on this time, not looking much older than the younger version of himself who paired with Duncan to win it all in 1999.

They all stood on their feet in those final minutes, the long, white balloons waving and the crowd exploding when Duncan sat for the last time with 2:12 remaining. His face stoic as always, he hugged teammates and staff members before Manu Ginobili was given the same adulation not long after.

"This is a team, and that's what makes this so, so great," Ginobili said at the Spurs' trophy acceptance ceremony.

LeBron James, meanwhile, suffered a far different fate. The Heat star who can be a free agent this summer (along with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh) lost in the Finals for the third time in five tries, this time with so much unforeseen irony.

"We went to four straight finals in four years," James said. "You know, we're not discrediting what we were able to accomplish."

Much like the 2007 Finals in which he had to carry a Cleveland Cavaliers team that had such a dearth in talent, the Heat teammates that once seemed so super withered in ways that never could have been imagined when they came together in the summer of 2010. Dwyane Wade had 11 points and hit just four of his 12 shots and it was the second straight bad game for him.

But the longtime guard has been a big part of the Heat's success and a big reason James originally signed with the team.

"It's been a hell of a ride these four years," Wade said. "When we decided to play together, we didn't say, 'OK, let's try for four years.' We said let's just play together and let's see what happens. ... We'd love to be 4 for 4. It just wasn't in the cards."

The Heat were trying to win a third consecutive championship in their fourth straight trip to the Finals. But, since Game 2, the Spurs completely dominated the series.

"They played exquisite basketball this series and in particular these last three games and they are the better team. There's no other way to say it," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said.

Harry Styles begs married woman to run away with him

As newly-wed Tash Gershfield, 25, soaks up the sun on her Greek honeymoon, she's bound to wonder "what if".

The North London bride faced the dilemma of a life-time on her wedding day when Harry Styles begged her to leave her new husband James just minutes after she'd said "I do".

As estate agent James, 25, got to his feet to begin his speech at London's Radisson Blu Portman Hotel, he unveiled the video to his shocked bride.

"He stood up and said 'Before I start my speech, I want to test Tash to see how much she really loves me.' The video was projected up and I got such a shock when Harry appeared on the screen, asking me to pick him instead of James," Tash exclusively tells Mirror Online.

In the 30-second clip the curly-haired one looks all upset as he addresses the bride directly, pleading: "You don't have to go through with this."

As Tash had already married James, naughty Harry reassures her that: "Annulments are pretty cheap these days and usually happen pretty fast."

The cheeky singer signs off by telling the bride it's not too late and that he'll be waiting for her in a cafe in Borehamwood if she changes her mind.

"It was such a shock - I had absolutely no idea that James had arranged it," Tash says. "When the video ended, James asked me, 'What do you want to do? Stay or go?'. All our guests were shouting 'go' and James gave me the microphone. The first thing I said was: 'Can you play that again?'" Tash laughs.

Luckily for James, after watching the video a second time, Tash chose her new husband over heartthrob Harry and the couple had their first dance to Michael Buble's Everything, followed by One Direction's You & I.

Tash had been a fan of the fivesome ever since their appearance on X Factor in 2010, furiously voting for the boyband to win. They came third in the end but Tash followed their career, with Harry becoming a firm favourite.

She went along to see the band for their Take Me Home tour in 2013 and even saw them at Wembley on their Where We Are tour in June, the night before her wedding.

Thoughtful James had managed to get the personal video through a film producer friend who had worked with the band. He didn't know what lothario Harry was going to say on the clip, until he got it back.

Now, as Tash enjoys her honeymoon in Halkidiki, with her new husband by her side, she finally has time to reflect on her decision.

"My wedding day was unbelievable and Harry's video was the icing on the cake," she said. "It's made me like him even more, but I know I made the right choice. By organising that surprise for me, James showed what a fantastic husband he is."

Tash got her happy ending, but we're sure there are thousands of directioners out there who would have made a different choice!

Predict when George R.R. Martin will finish ‘Game of Thrones’, using the magic of geometry

$
0
0

The fourth season of HBO's Game of Thrones is a done deal, meaning it'll be another 10 months before we find out what happens next with Arya, Tyrion and the rest of the gang. Over at 538, Walt Hickey has been looking into the burning question of whether the show will run out of material before the next book comes out. A quick Google search reveals that many readers are worried that author George R.R. Martin will live to see the end of his books:

Martin has a reputation for being slow and meticulous. He has expressed some anxiety about the show catching up with him: "I am aware of the TV series moving along behind me like a giant locomotive," he said in an HBO interview, "and I know I need to lay the track more quickly, perhaps, because the locomotive is soon going to be bearing down on me."

But as it turns out, Martin's reputation for slow trackwork is a bit undeserved. Yes, there have been large waits between the release of book in the series - five years between A Storm of Swords and A Feast for Crows, and another six years for A Dance with Dragons. J.K. Rowling finished all seven books of the Harry Potter series in the time it took Martin to write four books of A Song of Ice and Fire. Stephanie Meyer completed all four books of her sparkle-vampire saga in less than the time it took Martin to write A Dance with Dragons.

But these comparisons overlook one key factor - word count. Martin's books are huge. A Game of Thrones clocks in 864 pages in the paperback edition, longer than the first four books of C.S. Lewis' The Chronicles of Narnia combined. J.K. Rowling finished the Harry Potter series in about nine years. Martin only got through four books in the same period, but his overall page count is roughly the same - 4,380 paperback pages for Potter, 4,224 for Ice and Fire through that point.

As the chart below shows, Martin is indeed taking his time - but the pace of his output, page-wise, is on track with Rowling's and higher than just about any of the other fantasy authors listed.

If anything, this chart might underestimate Martin's pace relative to other writers - paperback page count is a good proxy for word count, but not an exact measure of it.

Since his third book, Martin's pace has been consistent - nearly 200 paperback pages' worth per year. Martin has said that he expects the final two books in the series to be about as long as A Dance with Dragons, at 1,500 manuscript pages each, or about 1,150 paperback pages. If his pace continues, we can use the magic of linear interpolation to predict that we should see Winds of Winter come out some time in 2017, with A Dream of Spring hitting in 2023, just in time for Martin's 75th birthday. According to the Social Security Administration, Martin can expect to live an additional nine years after that. Statistically speaking, fears about Martin's premature death are unfounded - we're in the clear, guys!

Of course, if there's any case where "past results do not predict future performance," it would be here. Martin himself is fond of saying his books will be ready when they're ready. All I'm doing here is extending a line. If you want a more sophisticated model to predict when the next Ice and Fire book will drop, 538's Walt Hickey has you covered again. He's factored in things like the sentiment expressed in Martin's blog posts, writing speed of Martin's previous novels, and the performance of the New York Jets to predict that Winds of Winter will come some time between now and 2018.

She was the nation's sweetheart when she was on the X Factor previously, and it looks like Cheryl Cole is ready to resume her position.

The star arrived at the first round of X Factor auditions in Manchester this afternoon wearing an all-white ensemble.

Pretty Cheryl flashed her toned and tanned pins as she strolled down the red carpet after the other judges. With her long blonde locks looking smooth and tousling down her back, the Crazy Stupid Love singer looked ready to take on her role as judge, once again.

Ever the doting pop star Cheryl stopped as she walked along the red carpet to sign autographs for die-hard fans and take selfies with a lucky few. Her vibrant blue shoes stood out as she strolled along, and she sported a seriously enviable tan.

Cheryl was the second-last judge to arrive, before she hit the auditions Louis Walsh and newcomer Mel B both arrived before the singer.

Get ready for a banger!

Justin Bieber revealed through some Instagram pictures over the weekend that he met up with Chris Brown in the studio, and we all know what that means—new music is on the way!

On Friday, Biebs posted a black and white photo with Breezy, Akon and two other pals with the simple caption, "studio." He followed up today with another photo of just him and Chris and wrote, "Studio, me and CB did 1 for the fans."

Let the fan frenzy begin.

No other details on the track have been revealed, but this wouldn't be the first time the duo have collaborated. J.B. and Brown previously worked together for a duet on Breezy's 2011 album, F.A.M.E., called "Next to You."

Their studio trip comes on the heels of the news that Bieber may have copped a plea deal in his ongoing DUI case, stemming from his arrest in Miami where he was busted for driving under the influence after drag racing back in January. A source confirms to E! News that the Biebs' attorneys have agreed to anger management courses for the pop star and he has also been ordered to pay a fine.

Meanwhile, this is the first sign that Breezy's getting back to work since being released from jail, but the singer always said he wanted to get back in the studio. Shortly after he returned home, Brown tweeted, "Humbled and Blessed...Back to the Music and the Fans...Thank you GOD."

Are you excited to hear what the pair create? Sound off in the comments!
