Greta Garbo-Marlene Dietrich Story First TV Project for Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures

0
0

New Hollywood pays tribute to old Hollywood: For its first outing in TV, Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures is developing a project focusing on the intersecting lives of Greta Garbo and Marlene Dietrich.

The untitled project from scribes Angela Robinson (“True Blood,” “Hung”) and Alex Kondracke (“Hung,” “The L Word”) is set in Hollywood’s Golden Age and explores the relationships of the film icons with such legends as John Gilbert, Mercedes de Acosta, Tallulah Bankhead, Alla Nazimova, Barbara Stanwyck, Cary Grant and John Wayne.

Ellison will executive produce. Annapurna’s Stephen Feder will be the executive overseeing day-to-day development and production.

“We’re so excited this project found a home at Annapurna,” stated Robinson and Kondracke. “We couldn’t imagine a better partner than Megan Ellison and the folks at Annapurna to help us bring this series to life.”

Lilo 'Men are a distraction for me'

Lindsay Lohan is single but not quite ready to mingle.
Despite looking her best in a sexy nude dress while guest hosting The View on Thursday, the OWN reality star admitted she's not up for having a boyfriend at the moment.
'They've been a distraction for me in the past,' the 27-year-old admitted.
This admission comes one day after the beauty admitted to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that the list of her famous lovers released by InTouch magazine - which included Ashton Kutcher and the late Heath Ledger - was authentic.

The Mean Girls star added she needs to focus on work. She just finished season one of her Oprah Winfrey produced reality series, which will reportedly not be renewed due to poor ratings.
She also guest starred on the sitcom 2 Broke Girls.
As far as letting cameras into her world, where chaos ensues and talk of her sobriety are front and central, the redhead said,'It was important for me to be open and share that with viewers. Especially because people have so many misconceptions about me.'

Lohan, who wore a pretty gold Chanel necklace and very high heels, said she 'feels good' and 'is in a good place.'
The show's regular hosts Barbara Walters, Jenny McCarthy, Sherri Shepherd and Whoopi Goldberg all gave Lohan a warm welcome.
Walters even confessed she has been trying to get an interview with the the cover girl for years.

Lindsay at times appeared nervous, especially when actress Marisa Tomei came on the show as a guest to promote her Broadway play The Realistic Joneses.
When Lohan asked Tomei a question about wanting to do more comedies, the acting vet misunderstood her, making for an awkward exchange on the couch.
The former rehab patient was also placed on the edge of the couch, next to Barbara, so it wasn't easy for her to jump in and ask a question.

article-2607915-1D2E72CC00000578-510_634x499

After Tomei came actors Anika Noni Rose, Tichina Arnold and Mekhi Phifer of the Lifetime movie A Day Late and a Dollar Short airing Saturday night. Whoopi is a producer.
At the end of the show Lohan and Shepherd had a cook off.
WIth Food Network host Marc Summers guiding them, the stars were asked to cook up dishes that involved already well-know foods.
They each had their own terminals with their names on them and assorted everyday foods on their counter.
The mystery item was donuts which Lindsay cut up with a large knife and placed into a pan with a tortilla.
Jenny sampled her creation - which also had marshmallows and chocolate syrup - and said it was delicious but it was a tie for the two results.

Remember When... Britney Spears and Madonna Made Out at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards?

"Remember When..." is a weekly feature every (#Throwback)Thursday where we look back on a moment that changed the world of pop culture forever. Come for the nostalgia, stay for the reminder that you are getting SO OLD.
rs_560x415-140417120536-rememberwhenbritneymad2

What Happened: The date was Aug. 28, 2003. This year's MTV Video Music Awards opened with the reigning princess of pop, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, dueting to Queen Madonna's "Like a Virgin."
Brit-Brit and Xtina rolled around in skanky wedding dresses—just like the original Material Girl did in 1984! Christina looked hella tan. Britney looked flawless. Then Madonna popped out of a giant wedding cake wearing a tux and performed her new single, "Hollywood."

In the middle of it all, Madonna brushed a piece of hair from Britney's face and kissed her.
What Else Was Happening: Actual married couple Carmen Electra and Dave Navarro hosted a VMA pre-show together. Seventeen-year-olds Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen presented an award with the star of Joe Dirt, David Spade. Missy Elliott's "Work It" won Video of the Year, while Justin Timberlake's "Cry Me a River" video, an (alleged) middle finger to his breakup with Britney, won Best Male Video.
But really, after the kiss, nothing else happened, because nothing else mattered.
FOR THE TLDR-CROWD

How We Remember It
Jenna Mullins: "I was fully in my Britney Spears obsession phase at this time, like so much so that I downloaded the version of this song to hear Britney's part whenever I wanted. I didn't really care about Madonna; I was there for Britney. The kiss was certainly shocking, but I was used to Britney doing crazy s--t by then.
"I was actually more interested in how Justin Timberlake would react, seeing as those two had broken up and destroyed the notion of true love forever.
Thankfully, the moment Madonna's tongue touched Britney's, the cameraman was up in J.T.'s face, and his reaction was priceless. He tried to look stoic and unaffected. But we saw it. We all saw it. J.T. was not amused.
"I also remember that, because of the quick cut to Justin, the kiss between Madonna and Christina—'scuse me, Xtina—was barely shown in the original airing. I didn't even knew they also kissed until I saw pictures later. The pro-Britney/anti-Christina in me found some twisted pleasure in the fact that everybody was talking about Britney."

rs_500x378-131217144007-tumblr_lz2fh0qPvX1r3ty02o1_500
John Boone: "Maybe it was my personal bias because I was obsessed (like, posters on the walls, fake sick at school to go home and watch Making the Video: Stronger obsessed) with Britney, or maybe I was just a little slow or something, but I never thought anything that Britney did was a ‘big deal' until afterwards, when other people would tell me how ‘big of a deal' it was.
"As far as controversial things Britney did at the VMAs, I actually always think of when she sang 'I Can't Get No Satisfaction' and 'Oops!...I Did It Again' and stripped from that bedazzled suit into a nude-colored sequin jumpsuit first. I very vividly remember that right after those VMAs, we switched to the evening news and a disapproving anchor said, and this is a direct quote, ‘At least when Elvis shook his hips, they were covered.' Afterward, I remember my mom agreeing and telling me, ‘I did think it was very inappropriate.'
"I don't think my mom cared much when this happened. And I do remember this happening, but I remember Britney dancing on top of the cake in the veil and the 'Boy Toy' belt buckle better than the kiss? And that she had the fake mole! I think I really just liked the costumes."
How do you remember Britney and Madonna's big kiss?

Britney Spears' father, Jamie, reportedly does not want her to get married again because he wants to protect her financial assets.

The Perfume hitmaker (rofl), who broke off her engagement to her former agent Jason Trawick in January 2013, is planning to tie the knot with her current boyfriend David Lucado but Jamie apparently does not think it's a good idea, reported Contactmusic.

"Britney is crazy about David but her dad told her it's not happening," a source said.

Britney has sons Sean, eight, and Jayden, seven, with previous husband, Kevin Federline. They divorced in March 2007.

She was also briefly married to her childhood friend, Jason Alexander, for 55 hours after they exchanged vows in Las Vegas in January 2004. *memories* Their union was quickly annulled.

Meanwhile, it appears Britney is adamant on marrying Lucadao. The couple recently enjoyed a vacation in Hawaii and sources say it was actually a recon mission for her planned June wedding, reports showbizspy.com.

"Britney took David and her two sons on a test run to Oahu to get everyone prepared for the wedding. They took a security team and scoped out the Aulani Disney Resort to see if it was private and posh enough for the ceremony," said a source. "She's planning something intimate and kid-friendly for late June."

Recently, it was said that Lucado seems to dote on the star in public and disrespects the singer behind her back. Another source said:"David makes fun of Britney all the time. He says she's extremely boring and always cracks jokes at her expense. Britney is head-over-heels for David, but he's just using her for the high life."

Kylie Minogue - Golden Boy (I Was Gonna Cancel B-Side)

Kylie Minogue's previously unheard song 'Golden Boy' has surfaced online.

The song has been released as a one-sided 7" vinyl to coincide with this year's Record Store Day.

'Golden Boy' was originally intended for her recent album Kiss Me Once, and was expected to feature as a bonus track on the Japanese edition of the record.

Just 1000 copies of the 'Golden Boy' vinyl have been made available to purchase.

Over 600 special vinyl and CD releases have been made available for Record Store Day 2014, which takes place today (April 19).

Minogue's Kiss Me Once charted at number two in the UK last month, losing out in a chart battle with George Michael's latest release Symphonica.

The singer - who recently confirmed her departure from The Voice after just one season - will head out on a new world tour later this year, starting in Liverpool on September 24.

‘Transcendence’ Tanks for Johnny Depp's 4th Box-Office Flop in Row

0
0
The sci-fi thriller marks the latest misfire for the actor, who hasn't had a hit since since his Jack Sparrow days

So much for Johnny Depp breaking his box-office slump with “Transcendence.”

The sci-fi thriller got off to a terrible start on Friday and looks like it will come in with around $12 million over Easter weekend, about $10 million under expectations that were modest to begin with, at least for a film with a $100 million budget. It was running fourth, behind reigning No. 1 “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” the family film “Rio 2” and the debuting “Heaven Is for Real,” the faith-based family drama.

The box-office belly flop for “Transcendence” makes it four straight misfires for Depp, coming on the heels of last year's “The Lone Ranger,” 2012's “Dark Shadows” and 2011's “The Rum Diaries.”

His last major score was “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” back in the summer of 2011. His turns as Jack Sparrow in Disney's series of swashbucklers have taken in more than $3.7 billion, but it's been three years since the last one. “Alice in Wonderland” topped a billion dollars globally, but Disney's 3D extravaganza was back in 2010.

The weak showing by “Transcendence” isn't all Depp's doing. The critics don't like it — it's at 19 percent on Rotten Tomatoes — and first-night audiences gave it a lousy “C+” CinemaScore.

In the PG-13-rated thriller, scripted by Jack Paglan, Depp plays a cutting edge scientist whose brain is uploaded to a computer after he's shot by anti-tech radicals. It's the directing debut of Christopher Nolan's longtime cinematographer Wall Pfister, and co-stars Morgan Freeman, Rebecca Hall, Paul Bettany and Kate Mara.

I think he's become over-exposed in the U.S., not just in the movies, but because of the all the celeb coverage that he has no control over,” BoxOffice.com vice-president and senior analyst Phil Contrino said.

“He's made some questionable decision in terms of his movie choices, and you string a few of those together and you can hurt your good will.”

Warner Bros. is distributing “Transcendence,” which was financed by Alcon Entertainment and China's DMG Entertainment and could do better overseas. It will be out in a handful of markets this weekend, including China, where Depp spent several days promoting it.

Contrino didn't think the damage to Depp is irreversible.

“He's such a big movie star that all it will take is one big role and he'll be back,” Contrino said.

Depp has two major Disney projects in the works: “Through the Looking Glass,” a sequel to “Alice in Wonderland,” and the fifth “Pirates of the Caribbean” film— “Dead Men Tell No Tales” — set for 2016.

His immediate follow-ups will roll out much sooner. Kevin Smith's horror film “Tusk,” the mystery thriller “London Fields” (with Amber Heard), Lionsgate's crime drama “Mortdecai” and the comedy fantasy, “Into the Woods,” are all set for this fall. Depp is also set to play Whitey Bulger in the mob drama “Black Mass,” which is set for 2015.

Earlier this year, Oakey said he received death threats from fans after criticizing Payne’s comments about the show “Duck Dynasty.”

Oakley then said he was taking a break from Twitter and making videos. He has several million followers on both Twitter and YouTube.

He tweeted Friday: Everyone’s buzzing about the You & I video… and I can totally see why! Incredible. Be sure to go give it some love,” before linking to Gaga’s video.

Oakley then wrote: “I’m literally the funniest person I know.”🐙

After that, fans of One Direction were apparently angered.

“It’s obvious that you want attention, stop throwing shade just bc you got called out by a member of the band (; ,” one person wrote.

Said another, “Tyler Oakley still carrying feelings from when liam called him out lOL.”

“Tyler oakley can punch me in the face and you’d better believe id say thank you,” another wrote. ?????????????????????????

Added another: “Tyler Oakley is getting hate from the directioners again.”

On Friday, “Tyler Oakley” was trending worldwide.

Teresa Giudice Looks To A Higher Power To Prepare For Possible Jail Time

We all know that Teresa Giudice and her husband, Joe,  have cut plea deals in their individual fraud and conspiracy confessions, but how are they dealing with the possibility of prison time? Or the possible deportation of Joe Giudiceback to Italy? Apparently they are looking to a higher power to prepare them for the pokey.

An insider recently told Radar Online that the Real Housewives of New Jersey stars and devout Catholics have been counseling with their minister and "relying on their faith to get them through this."

Teresa and Joe Giudice were both charged last summer  with 41 counts of fraud, including, conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, bank fraud, making false statements on loan applications and bankruptcy fraud.  Joe was also charged with tax evasion, for failure to pay taxes for a number of years in which he earned a reported $1 million.

At the time of her plea deal, Teresa Giudice — who is facing 27 months and Joe 46 months and possible deportation because he is not a US citizen –  released a statementsaying,"Today I took responsibility for a series of mistakes I made several years ago. I have said throughout that I respect the legal process and thus I intend to address the Court directly at sentencing."

She added, "I will describe the choices I made, continue to take responsibility for my decisions, and express remorse to Judge Slas and the public. I am heartbroken that this is affecting my family — especially for my four young daughters who mean more to me than anything in the world."

Apparently she is taking responsibility, but does not want to serve the time. Teresa is hoping to serve her time on house arrest, in order to remain with the couples, four young daughters, Gia, Gabriella, Milania and Audriana. If not house arrest, the couple is hoping to stagger their jail time, so at least one of them can remain in the home.

But she is also preparing for the worst and religious counseling is helping her do so. (Although last I checked, God does not look keenly on liars….)

Regardless, the insider went on to say, “Spending time with her family minister is helping during a very dark time. She has always been extremely religious and is relying on it more now than ever. She has been knocked off the pedestal and is now being forced to eat a big piece of humble pie. Publicly, Teresa is putting on a brave face. She is still acting like she isn’t afraid of the looming possibility of spending time behind bars."

Sentencing is scheduled for July 8.

Selena Gomez: actress, singer, model...equestrian?
The brunette babe opted to go around the hustle and bustle of Los Angeles by choosing a different form of transportation that is not commonly used in a high-traffic city—horses. OK, OK, she wasn't exactly using it as a form of transportation, but she did get on a horse in LA, and you don't see that often.
Gomez was photographed enjoying a horseback ride with one of her female pals earlier today, looking gorgeous as always as she strut a makeup-free face and wore a casual off-the-shoulder gray top, denim jeans and boots. The singer flashed shutterbugs a little smirk while holding on to the white beauty.

Jay Z And Beyoncé: The Latest In A Stadium Boom

0
0
jay-bey-stadium-do-not-use-650-430

With sources confirming to Billboard that Jay Z and Beyonce will embark on a 20-city stadium tour in June, megaconcerts are making a comeback not seen since the mid-1990s.

Though Live Nation did not comment on the upcoming dates, this will mark Jay Z’s second summer in a row touring stadiums, after 2013’s Legends of Summer tour with Justin Timberlake, which grossed an average of $5 million per show for 14 dates, according to Billboard Boxscore. The pairing of Jay Z, 44, and Beyonce, 32 -- who shared the No. 1 spot on this year’s Billboard Power 100 list -- joins a growing club of acts who will be playing stadium dates this year including established hitmakers (Eminem, Rihanna), newbies (One Direction), veterans (Dave Matthews Band, Billy Joel) and country kings (George Strait, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean).

What’s driving the boom? New efficiencies, as promoters find ways for acts with different audiences to share production costs. Brian O’Connell, president of Live Nation Country, says Joel and Aldean, in Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia, and Bryan and One Direction, in Boston, Chicago and Philly, will share basic staging for their respective shows taking place on the same weekend.

Also driving the boom is artists’ desire to play to tens of thousands in unique settings. “What do you do after you sell out multiples in arenas and amphitheaters?” asks O’Connell.

“The obvious thing is a stadium, but the financials aren’t that advantageous, because I refuse to jack up the ticket price.”

But acts combining their staging and production offer a solution to that issue. “We’re sharing the costs of putting on the stadium shows, so Luke and Jason are both going into stadiums and the highest price is $90,” says O’Connell.

It’s all adding up to the biggest year for superstar shows since 1994, when the stadium tour business peaked with nearly 9 million fans attending 214 stadium concerts that grossed $337 million, according to Billboard Boxscore. “The idea of having two shows by different acts on the same stage, 48 hours apart, would not have occurred to anybody in 1994,” says O’Connell.

Last year, 94 North American stadium shows were reported to Billboard Boxscore, grossing more than $308 million with 3.4 million tickets sold -- a number likely to be topped this year. “It looks like a big stadium summer, for a couple of reasons,” says Mark Campana, co-president of North American Touring for Live Nation Entertainment. “One, the stadium shows have gotten a lot more efficient in terms of being able to build these stages without it being as expensive as it used to be. And ticket prices are being set at the right level, so now you can sell 40,000 tickets.”

Coachella: Green Day's Billie Joe Joins the Replacements (For a Night) + looks like a dirty hippy

0
0

Frontman Paul Westerberg was laid up on the couch (literally) for his band's weekend two set.

After what was regarded as a lackluster first weekend set, the Replacements returned to Coachella's Outdoor Stage with a vengeance, recruiting Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong to fill in for ailing frontman Paul Westerberg, who was laid up on the couch -- literally.

Complaining of having thrown out his back, Westerberg spent most of the weekend two set on his back, laying on a sofa while playing guitar and sitting up to tackle vocals. The night's surprise, bringing out Armstrong, came early in the set and featured some of the band's most beloved songs, including "Color Me Impressed," "Can't Hardly Wait" and "Alex Chilton."

Somewhat well-rehearsed, possibly as a result of the Replacements' own influence on the punk rock star, Armstrong played with the band for their whole set some songs more ably than others. That prompted bassist Tommy Stinson to crack at one point, "You'll get it Billie; It's in E like all the others."

They then proceeded to knock out several more favorites from the Replacements canon, including ""I'm In Trouble," "Kiss Me on the Bus," "Tommy Gets His Tonsils Out," "I Don't Know" and "IOU." Westerberg called Armstrong's addition an "expansion" of the band.

Compared to the Replacements' April 11 performance, their first in California since 1991, the week two appearance was much better attended and the band, despite Westerberg's injury, seemed far more invested. The addition of Armstrong, who seemed excited to be essentially fronting a band that informed his own music, certainly helped. And even he cracked, "Dreams really do come true!"

The band looked better, too, dressed in matching tan suits which Armstrong also wore (his hair, much longer than on the Grammys earlier this year, was scraggly and he sported a full beard) except for Westerberg, who broke form and went low-key with sneakers and a khaki jacket emblazoned with a giant P.

The woe-is-me act didn't hold up with all Replacements loyalists, some of whom snickered that laying down to play (then standing for the last three) felt more like shtick. But according to festival insiders, Westerberg had been experiencing pain.

Regardless, the set marked a triumphant return for a band that should be relishing in its victory lap not mocking it.

The 90s truly are coming back...

America Ferrera talks about her new movie with Melonie Diaz, Common and Amber Tamblyn 'X/Y'

0
0

Despite the age-old trend of real-life couples teaming up for films, actor/director Ryan Piers Williams insists that wife America Ferrera wasn’t the obvious choice as the lead for his film X/Y.

“I didn’t write the role with her in mind, and I didn’t know whether I wanted to cast her, honestly,” says Williams of his second feature film, following 2010’s The Dry Land. “When America expressed interest in playing the role, I was really surprised and excited by that.”

Ferrera — who recently starred in biopic Chavez – adds that when her husband of nearly three years first showed her X/Y‘s script, she didn’t connect with lead character Sylvia. “I judged her and I didn’t like her,” says Ferrera.”But I realized that if someone wrote the facts of the worst things I’ve done in my life, I might not come off as likeable. I wouldn’t want to be judged by that. So I saw this as an opportunity to work with Ryan and create a character who brings humanity through the hurt, and really examines her inner life.”

Their collaboration produced a story about young people — caught between “generation X and generation Y,” explains Williams — who struggle to forge and sustain relationships amid the dual hurdles created by modern technology and societal conventions. Williams co-stars as Sylvia’s ex-boyfriend Mark; the cast also includes Melonie Diaz, Amber Tamblyn, and Common.

According to Ferrera, the greatest challenge wasn’t simply funding the film, assembling a cast or even organizing the logistics of a quick-and-dirty five-week shoot in New York City — all of which lead to a decided lack of sleep and a reliance on takeout. Instead, she says, it was the emotional toll of leaving behind her happy marriage to portray an onscreen relationship between troubled characters.

“Some of the intense fighting scenes our characters had to go through were difficult,” confesses Ferrera. “I also found that some of the moments where Sylvia is alone were tremendously sad. You have to put yourself in such a vulnerable position to convey those sorts of things and really feel them, which made sitting in these characters day after day really kind of hard.”

Williams — who wrote the script in just three weeks — says he found both playing opposite and directing his wife “natural.” After all, he notes, they first met when he cast her in a student project of his at the University of Southern California. Still, X/Y opens with a sex scene between the couple, which Williams said did present “big risks.”

“It’s not about us personally so I didn’t worry about it too much, honestly, but it is a vulnerable moment,” says the El Paso, Texas native. In fact, he found his greatest challenge was directing and acting simultaneously.

“I would never put myself in a movie or even take on an acting job where I didn’t feel I had something to offer, and that goes on with directing as well,” says Williams. “I can’t say I prefer one over the other, because it does come down to the material and what it requires of me.”

Still, William’s’ experience had dissuaded Ferrera from embarking on a similar acting-directorial effort any time soon.

“Watching Ryan direct and act at the same time made me realize that only crazy people would do that,” says the 30-year-old. “I would like to direct a project eventually, but if I do, you won’t see me at the camera at the same time.”

Take a look at an exclusive clip of X/Y below.

Miss America defends student suspended for asking her to prom

Miss America has suggested officials at a Pennsylvania high school reconsider their decision to suspend a student for approaching her at a school assembly and asking her to be his prom date, the beauty queen said on Saturday.

The disciplinary action taken by school administrators in York against the 18-year-old senior made national headlines, and generated sympathy for the young man on social media.

"I was flattered by the gesture, although I am unfortunately unable to attend due to my travel schedule," Davuluri said in a statement posted to the pageant's Facebook page. "I later learned of the disciplinary action taken and reached out to the school in hopes that they will reconsider their decision."

A video of Central York High School senior Patrick Farves approaching 2014 Miss America Nina Davuluri on Thursday at a school assembly was posted on a local newspaper's website.

It shows Farves walking up to Davuluri bearing a plastic flower and ask her to his prom, as the crowd of students erupts in laughter and cheers.

Administrators had heard rumors Farves was planning to make the bold gesture of approaching Davuluri and warned him not to do so, Farves said in a phone interview on Saturday.

"By that time, my mind was already set," he said. "I was already in the zone."

Farves was given a three-day in-school suspension, which requires him to sit in a classroom and work alone. He said he now feels bad his stunt overshadowed efforts by Davuluri - the first-ever Indian-American Miss America pageant winner - to promote diversity.

"She was trying to get across a very strong message - about how it's not about your beliefs or the color of your skin, but who you are," he said.

Farves, who said his mother is white and his father is black, also said he regretted his action because school officials worked hard to organize the event.

While he has scores of new Twitter followers and Facebook friend requests, Farves said he remains without a date for his school's May 10 prom.

School officials issued a statement on Central York High's Facebook page, defending the decision to suspend Farves.

"It is not our practice to discipline a student for asking someone - even Miss America - to a school dance," the statement said. "However, it is our practice to set expectations for student behavior, to communicate those expectations and rules to students and families and to ensure those rules are followed within our schools."

A school spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Davuluri's statement.

After Michael Egan came forward this week with details of sex abuse he was a victim of in the late 90s at the hands of X-Men director Bryan Singer, it was revealed that a documentary about this and other stories of the sordid Hollywood sex ring has been in the works for two years.

Amy Berg, the documentarian responsible for Academy award-nominated film Deliver Us From Evil (a film about sex abuse in the Catholic church), has been working on a film regarding sex abuse in Hollywood since 2012.

An unnamed source told The Daily Mail,

"Just this week, I got a message from Disarming Films, a documentary film company working out of Los Angeles.

They said they are making a documentary about a bunch of children molested by somebody in the film industry. I never contacted them back. They wanted videos and pictures of Michael and a few others he knew.

The film company said they were working on numerous children, now adults, now coming forward about this."

When Berg was reached for comment, she was reportedly surprised that Egan had come forward this week after filing a lawsuit against Singer. Egan is apparently working with the filmmaker on the documentary, but no release date has been announced.

Justin Bieber’s jailbird father was once charged with assault for allegedly breaking an 18-year-old girl’s jaw after he smashed her in the face with a flying roundhouse kick, MailOnline can reveal today.

Jeremy Bieber was taken to court, accused of the brutal attack on Alicia Wadden – who stood at just 5ft3in and weighed 100 pounds.

Alicia says she was knocked unconscious by the kung fu style kick, which, according to her statement given to police, broke her jaw in two places, chipped her teeth and forced her to eat pureed food for two months.

The mother-of-one claims she was so scared of Jeremy she did not want to press charges. She claims police in Stratford, Ontario, convinced her to give an official statement, seen by MailOnline.
However, the day before the case was due to go to court, Alicia alleges Jeremy, now 39, turned up at her boyfriend’s work and handed him $1,000, telling him that she should not show up to testify.
Alicia took the money and left town soon after, moving back in with her family in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

Jeremy’s criminal past – including convictions for assault - is well known, but this brutal charge has never been revealed before.

‘I used to be a huge fan of Justin, I would always think how nice and polite he was, but his dad is a terrible influence on him. He thinks he can get away with anything he does, but I want him to know he can’t.’

At the time Justin was a seven-year-old school boy living with his mother Pattie Mallette. Jeremy split from Pattie when Justin was ten-months-old.

On the night of the alleged assault, Alicia was in a bar with some friends when they all decided to go back to her house for a party. She explained: ‘One of my friends asked if Jeremy and his buddy could come back with us.

‘I’d never met Jeremy, but I’d heard of his reputation as a fighter, so I was nervous about him coming back. I told my friend, "I don’t want any trouble", and he said, "don’t worry, Jeremy’s a great guy".’
In her police statement, she went on: ‘We got to my place and we were all having a drink in the living room when Jeremy’s attitude totally changed. He was saying he was a legend in Stratford.’

Alicia told MailOnline he was also boasting that he could beat up anyone in the party.

The statement went on: ‘Later on, him and Chris were in the kitchen playing cards and I went out through the kitchen to go to the bathroom, when Jeremy told me to lift up my shirt.

‘I said don’t be disgusting…. Later at around 5am I went out to the kitchen and was hinting around that I was tired and wanted him to leave… Jeremy said: "Oh I’m leaving anyway, I don’t want to stay here drinking with you, loser Newfies (Newfoundlanders)".

‘I replied, "don’t be so mean" and then he said to Jamie (my roommate), "is that your girlfriend, because if it is, you better shut her up".

‘That made me really mad so I smacked him in the face’.

Discussing the incident with MailOnline, Alicia said: ‘I know I shouldn’t have done it, but I just reacted. One of my rings caught his lip and he started bleeding. He went crazy and was spitting blood at me.’

She told police in her official statement: ‘He was trying to walk toward me and Olivia had her hand on his chest, holding him back. I don’t know if he was going to hit me though.

‘Jamie took me in the living room and I heard a big bang, so I ran out to see what it was and my door was smashed in. I put on my sneakers and followed Jeremy outside to the cab and I was pointing at him telling him to never come back and that he was never welcome here again.

‘Then out of nowhere he kicked me in the face and I fell to the ground. I must have been knocked out because all I remember is waking up and not being able to close my mouth.’

Alicia says the last thing she can remember is seeing Jeremy jump in the air and do a spinning round house kick. She saw his foot fly towards her jaw, but could not get out of the way in time.

Alicia didn’t see Jeremy after that night but his reputation in Stratford, a city around 100 km west of Toronto and Justin Bieber’s birthplace, still affected her greatly.

She said: ‘The day after it happened people started coming up to me and saying, "you shouldn’t go to the cops or press charges, Jeremy’s dangerous, you don’t need that trouble".

‘But when the police turned up at my work I realized enough was enough and agreed to give a statement. Even then I watered it down as I didn’t want Jeremy to get convicted.’

When she finally gave the statement she was asked, "Why didn’t you want to speak with the police at the hospital?"

Asked why, she said: ‘Because what happened – happened. I didn’t want to go to court, I just wanted to pretend it didn’t happen. It’s not worth the hassle.’

And quizzed about whether she was afraid of Jeremy she replied: ‘If I was ever walking down the street and happened to run into him I would be scared (of) what he would do or say.’

The day before the trial Alicia claims Jeremy came to her boyfriend’s work and gave him an envelope with $1,000 in it.

She said: ‘If I’m honest I wasn’t going to go to court anyway because I was too scared, so the money was just a bonus.

‘I had heard from people that Jeremy was really worried. He had already been in trouble for violence before and he was apparently telling people if he was convinced he would go to prison.

‘He went to court the next day, but when I didn’t turn up the case was dismissed. Apparently the police were really angry.

‘I got out of Stratford soon after and moved back home.’

‘I know I should have pressed charges, but I was only 18. I was naïve and scared and just wanted to try to pretend it never happened. But now I am older I want him to know he can’t behave like that, no matter who he is.

’He needs to understand that his egotistical tough guy image isn’t helping him any. He’s basically paving the road for Justin to follow down.

‘Justin needs to realize that his dad isn’t the man he seems to think he is. He looks up to him and that is dangerous, because it seems he wants to behave like him to win his approval.’

Justin and Jeremy’s relationship has come under intense scrutiny in recent months, with many accusing the convicted criminal – who has two younger children as well - of being a bad influence and a scrounger.

Jeremy has apparently never held down a regular job, but he lives in an $850,000 ranch bought for him by his multi-millionaire son. He has also allegedly boasted that he is given a $50,000 a month allowance by his son.

He has been present when the hit-maker has got into trouble.

But his presence in Justin’s childhood is definitely a source of contention. He split from Justin’s mother, Pattie Mallette, just 10 months after she had given birth to the future global superstar following a troubled on off relationship.

According to Pattie’s autobiography, The Only Way Is Up, the teenagers were actually engaged, but called off the wedding when Jeremy cheated on her with a mutual acquaintance.

She also claims Jeremy was in the county jail for fighting the day Justin was born and that he often let his son down, regularly failing to turn up when he was due to take him out for the day.

He was frequently in trouble with the police during his teens and 20s. There is no official recording of his stint in jail on the day of Justin’s birth – although records are expunged after a certain period of time in Canada.

But he has got other offenses on his rap sheet. In 1997 he was convicted of assault and sentenced to 90 days in prison.

Two years later he spent another 21 days in jail after violating his probation. He was also convicted of a second probation violation at the same time.

Then in January 2004 he was charged with assault again, but the case was dismissed.

A spokesman for Bieber declined to comment.
