Oreo Cookies Turn 100! Plus Wacky Oreo Flavors from Foreign Countries

If there's one single cookie that makes us think of childhood, it's definitely the Oreo. Known as "milk's favorite cookie," these creme-filled chocolate sandwich cookies are considered the best-selling cookie brand of the twenty first century, making $1.5 billion in worldwide revenues. Whether you "twist, lick and dunk" them or just eat them as they are, Oreo cookies have been a part of Americans' lives for 100 years -- and March 6 happens to be Oreo's 100th birthday (Oreo is celebrating with it's new birthday cake flavored version). But did you know Oreos are popular around the world? And they come in some pretty intense international flavors.

Designed to compete with British biscuit cookies, Oreos were introduced in New York on March 6, 1912. By the mid 1990s, Oreos were selling in 30 countries. In China, Oreos have been sold since 1996, eventually becoming the country's best-selling cookie in 2006. You can now find Oreo cookies in more than 100 countries all over the world. And these nations feature flavors that go way beyond just the original-flavored Oreo cookies -- there are even some flavors designed to taste like ice cream.

It was....it was YOU the whole time!

1. This strait-laced former sitcom actor was at a restaurant/bar with his wife. A fan walked up to him and asked for his autograph. He held up his hand to shush the fan and said, “Shh, we’re listening to this song.” The actor and his wife then held hands and swayed back and forth with their eyes half-closed and sang along with tears spilling down his cheeks. The fan had to awkwardly stand there and wait until the end of the song. The whole situation was so bizarre that it was all the fan and the onlookers could do to keep from laughing during the emotionally cloying performance. The song they were singing was “The Rose” by Bette Midler. The actor in question has started focusing his life in another way away from acting. And no, he won’t be singing for a living. Especially songs by a gay icon like Bette Midler. Because, to him, being gay is a sin, and as long as he keeps denying his own sexuality, he is being righteous. Blind Gossip
REVEAL: Kirk Cameron

2. There is an area in Griffith Park where you can take the kiddies for a train ride. A certain actor used to enjoy taking men for another kind of ride in the same area. He would cruise the park, pick up a guy, and then hook up with them in his car. The really ironic thing here is that the actor is so religious that when he was a teen heartthrob (a couple of decades ago) he used to insist that any dialogue that was even the slightest bit sexual or profane be removed from his lines because they violated his sense of decency. He’s all grown up now, but we’re sure his wife really appreciates what a moral man she married. Blind Gossip
REVEAL: 2 FOR 2! Kirk Cameron, who's favorite color is scrotum

3. This foreign born A list movie actor who has not done much with his A list status so is probably slipping to B has run through many women during his time in Hollywood. The problem is they all know of his umm shortcomings in the bedroom. Not only his tiny endowment, but also the fact that he has some premature problems if you know what I mean. He tried dating women from other countries, but they also caught on so now our actor has dated two people in the past two months. Both of them are high school seniors. Legal, but are so excited about dating him they don't care that he is awful in bed and his ego has never been bigger. CDAN
REVEAL: Gerard Butler. Gross.

4. One of my favorite all time divas has herself quite the mouth. She also has certain beliefs about what songs should be played and what songs should not. Our diva used to be A list back in the day and is probably still and will always be a B list. She is also a nominee/winner of the big one. Anyway she was at a club and this disco version of a classic song comes on. Our diva goes over to the DJ and starts screaming at him. Oh, this is after she has hurled a cocktail glass at him and the glasses of all her companions. ‘Don’t you ever play that fucking song again. If you do, I will have you fired. She is turning over in her grave.’ She then went back to the table and did a line of coke. CDAN
My Guess: Omg please be my favorite fierce bitch diva Cher

5. You wouldn’t normally put these two stars together, but they are set to share the silver screen. The older star earned his way into the acting ring and felt his much younger costar deserves a chance to broaden his fame into film. However, things aren’t going too well at the moment. The youth is extremely bratty and his sense of entitlement might cost him the role. The Hollywood veteran is already considering casting someone else. Hollywood Dame
My Guess: Mark Wahlberg is not a fan of Justin Bieber being a hot-headed baby-haired bitch

Cheryl + Lana, two souls together at last

Cheryl Cole has turned to pop newcomer and Brits sensation Lana Del Rey to help her latest blitz on the charts. The pair have teamed in a bid for a No1 hit on Cheryl's highly-anticipated third album.

A source said last night: "Cheryl is a big fan of Lana and was intrigued to hear she had lots of songs written which she wasn't going to sing herself. She got hold of one and was really taken with it.

"The record label are pretty happy about it because Lana has a massive following."

New Yorker Lana, 25 — real name Elizabeth Grant — scooped the International Breakthrough Artist gong at last month's Brits. Her album of sultry, atmospheric songs shot to No1 in the UK and No2 in the US.

The unheard track picked by Geordie Cheryl, 28, is described as an "urban, mid-tempo ballad".

More advertisers pull out of a porkish bald fuck's radio show of overpriced hatred

Emboldened by Rush Limbaugh’s public apology over the weekend to a law school student whom he had called a “slut” and a “prostitute,” critics of the radio talk show host are intensifying their online campaign against his advertisers.

The apology, they said, was a signal that the campaign was working. On Sunday, a seventh company, ProFlowers, said that it was suspending all of its advertising on “The Rush Limbaugh Show” despite his apologetic statement a day earlier.

For now, the ad boycott is uncomfortable but not crippling for Mr. Limbaugh, who is estimated to make $50 million a year and whose program is a profit center for Premiere Radio Networks, the company that syndicates it. The program makes money both through ads and through fees paid by local radio stations, and while it often has sparked outrage during more than two decades on the air, efforts at ad boycotts in the past have had no measurable effect. Liberal groups and activists, however, hope that this time is different.

Mr. Limbaugh has been roundly criticized for talking at length about the sex life of Sandra Fluke, a Georgetown University law student who testified in support of the Obama administration’s requirement that health insurance plans cover contraceptives for women. For three straight days he lambasted her, before saying in a statement Saturday afternoon that he did not intend to attack her personally. “I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation,” he said.

By the time he apologized, online protesters had been organizing for days on social networking Web sites and liberal hubs like Daily Kos. They called on companies like ProFlowers to remove their ads from “The Rush Limbaugh Show” and appeared to be having some success, as companies like Sleep Train said they had suspended advertising.

One such company that had been a longtime sponsor of Mr. Limbaugh’s, Carbonite, said it would reconsider its ad spending; after the apology was issued, it announced that it would suspend its ads anyway. “We hope that our action, along with the other advertisers who have already withdrawn their ads, will ultimately contribute to a more civilized public discourse,” the company’s chief executive, David Friend, said.

Mr. Limbaugh’s critics dismissed his apology as having been forced by the advertiser pressure. Reflecting those feelings on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday, Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida, the Democratic National Committee chairwoman, said, “I know he apologized, but forgive me, I doubt his sincerity, given that he lost at least six advertisers.”

Eric Boehlert of the liberal media monitoring group Media Matters for America predicted on Sunday that the apology would not “stop the pressure that’s being applied to his advertisers.”

“His comments were so egregious, naturally advertisers will have doubts about being associated with Limbaugh’s brand of hate,” Mr. Boehlert said in an e-mail message.

Premiere’s parent company, Clear Channel, deferred questions to Premiere, which declined to answer questions about the effect of the ad boycott or the widespread anger at Mr. Limbaugh.

In a statement, Premiere — best known for conservative talk shows — said it was committed to giving listeners access to a broad range of opinion and commentary. “The contraception debate is one that sparks strong emotion and opinions on both sides of the issue,” the company said. “We respect the right of Mr. Limbaugh, as well as the rights of those who disagree with him, to express those opinions.” [smh]

It has not been easy for Mr. Limbaugh’s opponents to figure out all of his show’s sponsors: several lists, some inaccurate, are floating around the Web. Mr. Limbaugh’s own Web site appeared to have no actual advertisers on Sunday, only ads for its own online store of products.

Limbaugh’s noon to 3 p.m. show is the single most popular conservative talk show in the country.

Nicole Richie for Flare April 2012

Nicole Richie is for cover girl the April 2012 issue for Canadian fashion magazine Flare.

She dazzles wearing a Roberto Cavalli Spring 2012 ensemble which features a gold jacket, a matching skirt and a white top which she accessorizes with a ring from her House of Harlow 1960 line.

Inside she looks white hot wearing a Cushnie et Ochs jersey leotard and cotton skirt with an Alexis Bittar bangle.

She talks to the magazine exclusive about Hollywood role models, balancing work with family, and how her four-year-old daughter feels about her namesake line.

Here are some extracts from her interview:

On Hollywood role models:
“I was just talking to a friend of mine who has two little girls about a certain singer whose name I won’t mention. He was really upset, saying she wasn’t a good role model for his kids. But here’s the thing: that girl is twentysomething, so she shouldn’t be a role model to your little girls. She’s human, and it’s unrealistic to put people on a pedestal and expect that they’re not going to make mistakes.”

On her own life in the spotlight:
“I know that, being in the public eye, I have a responsibility to the people who have been supporting my dreams. But more than that, I know that I have a responsibility to my family.”

On balancing work with family:
“I try to only work when the kids are in school, so I’ll come home when they’re out of school and then go back to work at night.”

On her daughter, Harlow’s, future in fashion:
“She has no idea that she has two lines named after her—I try and let her be a kid.”

On being a morning person: “I wake up at 5:30 in the morning, every morning, so I can be alone. I don’t have anywhere to be, but mentally, I like to go downstairs and drink my coffee…I’m telling you, it changes my entire day.

Arcade Fire, Destroyer, M. Ward, Richard Buckner

Merge has announced its four Record Store Day releases, and yes, they're putting out something by Arcade Fire. (Record Store Day is on April 21 this year.)

Arcade Fire will release a special edition 12" with remixes of Suburbs album cuts "Sprawl II" and "Ready to Start" by the band and producer Damian Taylor (who has recently worked with Björk, Austra, and Robyn). The remix of "Sprawl II" can be heard in the interactive video, while the "Ready to Start" remix was originally a bonus cut from the deluxe edition of the album.

The label is also pressing Destroyer's 2006 opus Destroyer's Rubies on vinyl for the first time in the U.S. It features bonus track "Loscil's Rubies", a 20-minute long bonus song remixed by Scott Morgan, aka Loscil, who remixed the bonus songs on the vinyl release of Kaputt. The limited double LP will be on ruby red vinyl, natch, and include a digital download of the album.

Two weeks after the release of new album A Wasteland Companion, M. Ward's Record Store Day 7" includes one song from that album, "Primitive Girl", and two B-sides: "Roll Over Beethoven", a cover of the Chuck Berry classic, and "The Twist", which is not a cover. (M. Ward will also perform at Fingerprints in Long Beach on Record Store Day.)
Finally, the label will release Richard Buckner's first-ever 7", "Willow" b/w "Lost". It also comes with an exclusive downloadable cover of the Cars' "Candy-O". Listen to somber A-side "Willow" above.

I MISSED THE LES FOLIES TOUR SO BISH BETTER LET ME GO TO THIS

'I know it's not OK', says pregnant Stacey Solomon after smoking pictures

$

She shocked fans when pictures emerged of her smoking despite being seven months pregnant.
But now Stacey Solomon has opened up about her struggle to kick cigarettes, admitting she 'knows it's not ok'.
Stacey's admission came as it was revealed the 22-year-old singer has been axed as Foxy Bingo's Celebrity Mum of the Year.

The former X Factor singer rang in to Loose Women to speak about the pictures on the show today, and said that while she wasn't trying to defend her actions, she felt some of the criticism she received was a 'little harsh'.

She said: 'All of the responses are something that I deserve. I don’t for one minute think I can sit here and say it is ok – so I can accept that kind of criticism and although it’s not nice to hear I know that its true the health risks and maybe that will give me more power to stop it and nip it in the bud.
'There’s ups and downs to people being critical because it makes you think oh my God, I really must sort this out and you feel even more guilty than you already do because don’t get me wrong I felt guilty before all of this came out.
'But there is a little a bit of you that thinks I love my children with all my heart so some of the comments are a little bit harsh.'

Stacey's admission came as she was seen outside her home this morning looking upset and dishevelled as she struggles to cope with the controversy she has caused with the shots.
And Stacey, whose second baby is due on 7th May, continued: 'It's absolutely devastating not just because I saw the pictures in the paper – its something I’m not proud of and I’m really, really struggling with in general.
'It’s not just because everyone knows now. Its something that I don’t want to do and that I’m not happy doing so it’s horrible.'

Stacey also said she had been trying to give up during her pregnancy, adding: 'It’s a horrible habit and I care more about my children than anything in the whole wide world so anything I can do to give up means more to me than anything else or what anyone thinks.'
Stacey, Foxy Bingo's mum of the year, had been in the middle of a photo shoot in Fulham, south west London, when she slipped outside for a break and was seen puffing away on a cigarette.
The chatterbox queen has four-year-old Zachary, with ex-boyfriend Dean Cox, while her latest addition to the family will be with fiancé Aaron Barham.
Explaining the reason for axeing Stacey as their Celebrity Mum of the Year, a statement from Foxy Bingo read: 'Following stories in the newspapers in recent days, Foxy Bingo has taken the decision to stand Stacey down from her position as judge on Foxy Mum and from the voting shortlist for Foxy Bingo Celebrity Mum of the Year 2012, the winner of which will be announced next week.
'Stacey has apologised to the people at Foxy Bingo and is sorry and embarrassed by her actions. We understand Stacey is doing everything she can to stop smoking and in recent times has cut back dramatically. She's naturally disappointed but accepts Foxy Bingo's decision.'
Stars still in the running for the title include Natasha Giggs, Peaches Geldof and Katie Price.

On the chance of renewal:
The group seemed relatively confident in their chances of returning. Krasnoff, the veteran of the bunch, said NBC loves the show and put their renewal odds at 63 percent, and Harmon said the struggles of "30 Rock" in the same time slot cut them some slack. “It’s really, really nice to go back to time slot that now can be known as a hazardous environment,” he explained.

At the same time, Harmon noted there was every bit the possibility that they've been off the air so long that the ratings will be even lower when they return. And Goldman warned everyone that they still need the fans to spread the word and "be loud," and that as much as they all love Twitter, it often feels like preaching to the converted.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

On the evolution of Britta:
Jacobs loves the evolution of Britta into the worst person in the world, and that one of their last episodes before the hiatus turned "Britta'ed" into a verb for screwing everything up, which gave her the opportunity to see people tweet that "NBC Britta'ed it" by putting the show on hiatus. Later, when an audience member asked her to recreate the "Me so hungy" dance from "Remedial Chaos Theory," she briefly got confused and tried doing a gag from an episode that hasn't aired yet. One of the actors (I think it was McHale) called out, "No, you just Britta'ed it!" and eventually she did the right one.

Another reason Danny Pudi is awesome:
The last question of the night came from a very nervous young woman in a Greendale hoodie who said that Abed was her favorite character ever and requested a hug, and without blinking, Pudi leaped off stage, sprinted to hug her (she practically collapsed, she was overwhelmed), then sprinted back to the stage and did a Shatner-esque dive roll back to his seat.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Goofing around on the set:
The cast in general loves to goof around with each other, which can disrupt filming at times. Ken Jeong in particular is notorious among his co-stars for what they call "Chang-tongue," where he stares at them when the camera's not on him with his tongue lazily dangling out of his mouth (Brie and several others imitated it on stage) to get them to break. It usually works. Harmon said there's a lot of wasted time, but also major bursts of productivity on the set — which he said tended to come when Chase was in his trailer. Here, by the way, is what Chang-tongue looks like, as interpreted by Alison Brie.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Humble Oscar winner Jim Rash:
The crowd and the cast gave new Oscar winner Jim rash a standing ovation when he came on stage. Later, when I asked him about that big night, a stage manager walked out with the actual Oscar, and Rash proudly displayed it on the table in front of him. Joel McHale quipped that Rash's contribution to the script was writing all of the dialogue for George Clooney's comatose wife, and Yvette Nicole Brown praised Rash for how genuinely modest he had been throughout the awards season. Rash picked up the Oscar, said, "Well, this kind of negates what you just said," and pretended to hide it behind the table before quickly nudging it forward so everyone could still see it. Here's Rash with his very special trophy (which is still not engraved).

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

On creating episodes in a vacuum of fan feedback:
Things got weird while they were making so many episodes in a vacuum. Harmon said they'd had two and a half years of a constant "feedback loop" from the fans that helped inform much of what they did, and then that vanished when NBC took them off the air. He said upcoming episodes weren't necessarily better, or worse, but "different." One episode in particular — revolving around Abed and Annie spending time in their apartment's "Dreamatorium" together — is still freaking everyone out. Alison Brie said she and Danny Pudi had no idea what the episode was about as they were making it, Donovan said they only figured out what the story was when they were editing the episode, and Harmon speculated that it will either be the greatest or worst thing in the history of television. (This is also what he was apparently saying in the lead-up to the "My Dinner with Andre" homage episode, but said the popularity of that episode among fans only makes him more anxious about this one.)

Another reason why the whole cast is awesome:
After, the cast and producers stayed for nearly a half hour signing posters and other memorabilia for fans who crowded the edge of the stage, with Brown and Pudi sharing the endurance title as the two who lasted the longest.
