She famously lost over 80lbs in the last two years and has taken advantage of her incredible weight loss to enjoy the new fashion opportunities that her new slim-line figure opened her up to.
And there is no doubt that Jennifer Hudson can look fabulous as has been evidenced by many photographs of her both at formal events and off-duty.
However in New York on Thursday the Dreamgirls star wore a peculiar mismatched outfit that seemed to confuse her as much as it did onlookers.

Game Of Thrones co-stars Kit Harington and Rose Leslie have ended their real life romance, according to a U.K. report.
The actors began dating after becoming close on the set of the hit fantasy Tv series, but their offscreen relationship has now come to an end, according to Britain's Mail on Sunday.
A source tells the publication, "Rose and Kit are no longer together. Rose has a new boyfriend who is not in the public eye. She is eager to keep this relationship out of the spotlight."

Lady Gaga copies Madonna's recent sound for 'Applause' single

$

Parts of Lady Gaga's upcoming single "Applause" have leaked Saturday afternoon and it's already causing an uproar on Twitter, but not in a good way. It has been described as reductive, juvenile, stupid, and disappointing. However, Lady Gaga's "Little Monsters" seem to be enjoying it.

The song certainly sounds a lot better than the Muslim-bating "Burqa." However, it's not saying much. The two clips released recall Madonna's most recent singles "Give Me All Your Luvin'" and "Girl Gone Wild." Even madonna fans will tell you that it's not necessarily a good thing. Still, it makes us want to hear the full song. In other words, it stands on top of a garbage can rather than in it.

This evening, Lady Gaga pretended to be upset on Twitter, although sources say the leak was a publicity stunt to try and take away the spotlight from Katy Perry. It wouldn't surprise us. Lady Gaga has been recently accused of faking hip surgery so she could cover up for poor ticket sales and posting naked videos of herself in order to deflect attention away from what many people feel is bad music.

TV Characters Who Were Supposed to Die

$

0
They went on to become pivotal, scene-stealing, and even award-winning and spinoff-worthy cast members of their series, but these TV characters weren't originally scheduled to have long lives on their respective shows. Here, 11 great characters who cheated death in TV land.

 photo slide13-ytv-TVsInfamousSingles-m02-Jesse-jpg_001720_zpsc47c0b3f.jpg

Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), "Breaking Bad"

We're very afraid of what may happen to Jesse in the final eight episodes of "Breaking Bad," but we should all be grateful that Walt White's meth-making partner made it past the first season of the AMC drama, because he wasn't supposed to originally. Two-time Emmy winner Paul says series creator Vince Gilligan told him he had intended for Jesse to die in the show's ninth episode, but the 2007-08 Hollywood writers' strike gave Gilligan a chance to reconsider the decision.

Gilligan thought he was sharing a bit of good news with the actor — his character had proven too compelling and valuable to off — but Paul says it actually made him paranoid about his job for a couple of years… a fact that ornery co-star Bryan Cranston used to his advantage to play occasional pranks on Paul.

 photo slide12-twop-worstdads-07-brody-jpg_011226_zpsd4e8e965.jpg

Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis), "Homeland"

Emmy and Golden Globe winner Lewis was supposed to die in the series' first season finale. The main reason he didn't: romance. "The center of Season 2 will be the same as the center of Season 1, and that is the Carrie-Brody relationship," showrunner Alex Gansa said while previewing Season 2. "The reason why we decided not to kill Brody off in the [Season 1] finale is because that relationship hasn’t run its course yet. That’s what we always come back to… whenever we can intersect those two characters, that’s when we feel most alive as writers, that’s when the series really soars."

 photo slide13-ytv-10TVCharactersDie-Jack-Lost-jpg_212936_zps4a67a994.jpg

Jack Shephard (Matthew Fox), "Lost"

Not only was the "Party of Five" star not supposed to survive the "Lost" pilot, he wasn't supposed to play the part of surgeon Jack at all: "Mr. Mom" star Michael Keaton was offered and turned down the role when series creator J.J. Abrams had written Jack to die halfway through the series premiere. Not only did Jack live for five seasons, he became one of the series' leaders, and part of that series finale we're not sure we'll ever fully understand or accept.

 photo slide13-ytv-10TVCharactersDie-Carol-ER-jpg_212937_zps21a53ed8.jpg

Carol Hathaway (Julianna Margulies), "ER"

Nurse Carol tried to commit suicide — because of her floundering romance with George Clooney's playboy doc Doug Ross — by swallowing a bunch of pills in the "ER" series premiere. But the character, and the actress, scored so highly with test audiences that the plot was rewritten to have Hathaway live. Not only did she eventually get her man — she and Ross got married after they both left the Chicago ER and moved to Seattle — but Margulies won an Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series Emmy for her Season 1 performance.

 photo slide13-ytv-10TVCharactersDie-Spike-Buffy-jpg_212942_zps0bee5524.jpg

Spike (James Marsters), "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"

Marsters has shared the story of how vampire Spike lived: "The character was supposed to die in three to five episodes. We did three and I didn't die," he says. "We did two more, and I didn't die. In the script for the fifth episode, I got conked on the head with an organ, and said, 'Well, that's it — I'm dead.' Then they sent me another script, and I was back. It was a pleasant surprise that I didn't die, because I was fully expecting to. All I really wanted was a good body count and a good death, but lo and behold, I got a career."

Not only did three to five episodes turn into nearly 100 "Buffy" eps, but the actor also went on to reprise his character in the "Buffy" spinoff, "Angel."

Kris Jenner Responds to Obama: Kim Kardashian is “Hardest Working Young Lady in The World”

Kris Jenner has responded to President Obama’s recent interview with Amazon, in which he said that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West represent the warped American Dream of today’s culture.

As Gossip Cop previously reported, Obama told the site that in his day, “Kids weren’t monitoring everyday what Kim Kardashian was wearing, or where Kanye West was going on vacation, and thinking that somehow that was the mark of success.”

Jenner was not happy with Obama’s statements.

The Kardashian momager challenged the leader’s remarks on Friday’s episode of her talk show “Kris,” saying, “I wasn’t aware that you could only set the bar so high and that we could only dream so big. I was taught dream big, work hard and you can have whatever you wanted.”

Jenner added, “I bet the President has some friends with 10,000 square foot houses and that he wouldn’t mind going over there… when [he was] asking them to have a party for [him] while [he was] campaigning for dollars to run for president.”

And that wasn’t the end of her tirade.

The reality star continued, “Kanye West doesn’t go on vacation ever… and Kim Kardashian is the hardest working young lady in the world.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan rumored to be in the running for Batman after meeting with Zack Snyder

The latest Batman vs. Superman rumor puts actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan at the front of the line as the new Dark Knight.

Morgan (Weeds) is rumored to have met with Zack Snyder recently, leading some to believe that the director is thinking of casting the actor in the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman in his upcoming Man of Steel follow-up.

The popular notion right now is that Snyder is interested in casting an older, middle-aged Batman who has already been avenging his parents’ murder for several years when we meet him. Other actors rumored for the part include Richard Armitage, Josh Brolin and Armie Hammer, but the lattermost is a little too young to fit the bill and isn’t really interested anyway.

Per the insider report from Think McFly Think:

“The actor is taking a meeting with Zach Snyder for the role of Batman,” the leaker explains. “This doesn’t mean he is a lock for the part but Morgan was rock solid as the Comedian in Zack Snyder’s ‘Watchmen’ and a little familiarity doesn’t hurt.”

The rumor is pretty unsubstantiated so far, and hasn’t really been picked up by mainstream gossip blogs.

Katy Perry reveals what she does when she's NOT "ROARing"!!!

Katy Perry, whose new single “Roar” is now taking the world by storm. You would think she’s got the whole ‘international pop star thing’ nailed down by now with the pending release of her third full length album, Prism, the follow-up to her highly successful 2010 release Teenage Dream. When Katy sat down with Fresh 102.7's Kim and her partner Jim on August 12, Katy revealed that she’s just as human as the rest of us and needs some quality time to devote solely to herself – body and mind. Interestingly enough, one of Katy’s favorite things to do to unwind happens right in our backyard.

“I think making my body feel good boosts my confidence,” Katy told Kim. “I think if I just take a minute to get more sleep and also if I [take] a run. My favorite thing to do here in NYC is bicycle right by the waterfront. Just put on a new record that I want to listen to and just go bicycling up and down, up and down. And go bicycling in Central Park! It is so nice. It’s like all these scenes are changing around you. It’s a beautiful feeling.”
“So, I love the outdoors. I go hiking, I do all the outdoors stuff,” Katy continued. “I just try to make sure my body feels good and then my mind feels good. And then I’m happy.”

Lana Del Rey Visits Friend's House in LA
aug 2013_13 visiting friend in la1
Stepping out for a social call, Lana Del Rey showed up at a friend’s house in Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon (August 13). The “Ride” singer channeled her inner-child with a Mickey Mouse t-shirt and backwards ball cap as she strolled away from her black Jaguar convertible.

And it sounds like yet another one of Lana’s unreleased tracks has leaked onto the internet, following her previous songs “So Legit,” “Black Beauty” and “Maha Maha.” “Behind Closed Doors” is a sexual confessional in which Miss Del Rey proclaims she wants to be thrown around “like a pizza pie.”

Lana sings, "Everybody saying you're no good for me, / But they don't see the dirty stuff you do to me, / I only shout a little but you give me more, / Yeah, behind closed doors.”
Enjoy the pictures of Lana Del Rey out in Los Angeles (August 13).

Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett Talk AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN

$

American Horror Story: Coven is the upcoming third season of the popular and critically acclaimed FX horror anthology series, starring Jessica Lange. Set in both modern day and the 1830s, this new season centers on a coven of witches that relocated from Salem, Massachusetts to New Orleans, Louisiana before the Salem Witch Trials. Kathy Bates will be portraying infamous serial killer Madame LaLaurie, while Angela Bassett is voodoo practitioner Marie Laveau.

During the FX portion of the TCA Press Tour, co-stars Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett talked about how much Jessica Lange influenced their decision to join the show, who the women are that they’re portraying, what made them want to do television, and what it’s like to work with such talented people.

Question: How much was Jessica Lange’s run with this series and the variety she’s been able to have with it an influence for you to come on board now?

ANGELA BASSETT: It was a tremendous influence for me. I’m a big fan of her work. She’s incredible. Watching the first two seasons, the work of all the actors, in addition to Jessica, was just an actor’s dream.

KATHY BATES: Same here. And seeing Sarah Paulson’s work, especially last season, you just get like a little kid. You just want to play, too.

What can you say about your character, this season?

BASSETT: Well, I play Marie Laveau. It’s been interesting, being in New Orleans, because there’s such a regard and respect for who she was. She lived to about 80 years old, and she was a very influential person in the city. My character is based loosely on her.

BATES: My Southern accent has come roaring back. Now that that cat is out of the bag, one of the things I enjoyed reading about Madame LaLaurie is that my great-great-grandfather came from Dublin to New Orleans in the 1830s, and he became personal physician to Andrew Jackson. And I read in the book on LaLaurie that his plantation was next door to theirs. So, I was very curious to know whether my grandfather ever met her because I think he would have been there just before she left. I thought that was interesting.

Angela, did you do research into Marie Laveau? How close is this incarnation to the real woman?

BASSETT: I read a fictional novel by Tallant, called The Voodoo Queen. I’ve read two books about her, one that’s more historical and one that’s her life, but put into novel form. It’s just very interesting. We’ve been filming in the French Quarter. But, I don’t know exactly where it’s going, so I’m remaining open and just picking up little things. Her father was French Creole, and he gave her gold earrings. Spain occupied Louisiana longer than the French did. I’m also talking to folks from there and just getting a take on how they see her or what they feel about her, to get a sense of who she was and her power in the 1800s, as this black Creole woman.

Kathy, your last series experience, with Harry’s Law, had its ups and downs. What did it take to make you want to do a series again?

BATES: I don’t want to give them any airtime. I think they treated us like shit. They kicked us to the curb. I think they disrespected us, and our seven to 11 million viewers, every week. And I think they’re getting what they deserve. Thank you. On a positive note, I went out for a drink with my friend, Jessica, after seeing the first season. And I said, “You’ve got to get me on that show.” I thought it would be maybe a couple of episodes. So, I went in and sat down with Ryan [Murphy], and when he pitched this show to me, this little kid that lives inside all of us just started jumping up and down and running around. I said, “I want to do it!” It just got me so excited that it washed most of the crap away. Clearly, there’s some residue. But, it’s delightful to be among such a glorious group of actors and have such magnificent material to play. I’m going on the record to say that we’re going to knock your socks off.

Angela, what got you to return to TV again? Was it just this show, in particular?

BASSETT: This was just perfect. I just got a call to come in and meet Ryan. I watched every single episode, but to hear him talk about it, and knowing who would be joining the cast, and that it would be shot in New Orleans, which is one of my favorite cities – for the music, the food, the character and their love of death – and people from different strata live within 10 to 15 minutes of each other, it’s just very unique. There is such a history of that town, with free people of color, slaves, whites and Haitians. That I would be able to be in a city that I love, working with artists that I love, that obviously write for women, and to be able also to come home and not neglect my family for six months straight, it had everything going for it, as far as I was concerned.

How is it to be able to work with such a group of people, at this level of talent?

BATES: It really raises your game. It’s something almost unconscious that, when you get out there, you know who you are going to be with, even if you are not in the same scene with somebody, and you just want to bring your triple-A game and work at the highest level that you can do. You want to push yourself. And we have a wonderful director who is going to be down there all season, Alfonso Gomez-Rejon. He’s a magnificent director, and he’s got such an amazing eye. That’s what I loved about some of what I saw last season. It’s just something that you don’t see on television. He likes high, wide shots. He really has that artist’s eye to create a painting. I can’t wait to see it.

Fiona Apple and Blake Mills Strip Down 'I Know' in Odd, Intimate Video

'When the Pawn...' heartbreaker shifts disarmingly to guitar ahead of collaborative tour

August 14 2013, 11:41 AM ET

Fiona Apple and Blake Mills' upcoming collaborative tour is called "Anything We Want," and they're already previewing a little bit of what that might mean. Apple recently shared a Paul Thomas Anderson-directed video for "Hot Knife," off of last year's SPIN Essential album The Idler Wheel..., but rather than add visuals to another track from the album to promote the upcoming shows, Apple and Mills have gone back to 1999's When the Pawn... and its gut-wrenching "I Know." And rather than highlight the track in a more conventional way, Apple and Mills perform it in a new video (via Pitchfork) set in someone's living room. A smiling Apple holds the hand of a so-far unidentified woman, while Mills strums an acoustic guitar, standing in for the album version's piano, percussion, and strings. It's charming and intimate, but voyeuristically so, as we peek in on a moment where we're clearly outsiders.

Apple and Mills' tour website also now features a video of Apple cutting her hair in the mirror while wearing a face-cleansing mask. It has a similarly strange effect.

Mills opened for Apple and played guitar in her band during her recent The Idler Wheel... tour, and their upcoming 13-date run through North America will be as a duo. "We know it'll be something special, and we aren't being coy here — it's just that we have about 26 percent of an idea of what the fuck we will be playing for you," they said in a statement. "But here is something true: The uncertainty excites us."

Mob City trailer

The epic battle between a determined police chief and a dangerous mobster inflames 1940s Los Angeles in TNT’s eagerly anticipated television event Mob City (formerly known as Lost Angels). This powerful drama comes to TNT from Frank Darabont (The Walking Dead), who wrote and directed the pilot and serves as executive producer on the series. Based on the critically acclaimed book L.A. Noir: The Struggle for the Soul of America’s Most Seductive City, by John Buntin, Mob City opens in post-war Los Angeles, home to glamorous movie stars, powerful studio heads and returning war heroes. But it’s also a city caught between a powerful and corrupt police force and an even more dangerous criminal network determined to make L.A. its West Coast base. Los Angeles Police Chief William Parker (Neal McDonough — Captain America, Desperate Housewives)) has made it his mission to free the city of criminals like Ben “Bugsy” Siegel (Ed Burns — Entourage) and Mickey Cohen (Jeremy Luke — Don Jon), the ruthless king of the Los Angeles underworld. Parker also won’t hesitate to go after anyone from his own police force who sells out honor and duty for the sake of a big payout. To carry out his sweep of organized crime, Parker sets up a new mob task force within the LAPD. Headed by Det. Hal Morrison (Jeffrey DeMunn — The Walking Dead, The Shawshank Redemption), the task force includes Det. Joe Teague (Jon Bernthal — The Walking Dead), an ex-Marine who holds his cards close to his chest. Mob City’s exceptional ensemble cast also includes Gregory Itzin (24), Robert Knepper (Prison Break), Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes) and Alexa Davalos (Clash of the Titans, The Mist). Mob City is produced by TNT Originals, with Darabont, Michael De Luca (The Social Network) and Elliot Webb (Alpha House) serving as executive producers.
