In Santa Monica Model/Actress Jessica Alba was all smiles that resulted from a mistake she made in recognizing her own car as she confidently went toward a stranger’s with her fix of Starbucks coffee in her hand but realized it just in time. Feeling the focus of the cameras at her she couldn’t help but break into a smile that in turn brightened our day.




“Charmed” actress Rose McGowan wore a transparent draping for some reason not quite apparent to us as she stepped out on Beverly Hills to visit a hair salon. As always the 39 year old star looked fresh and energized though she did drop the file she held in her hand which makes me wonder is she felt sleepy. Just a conjecture!




Anger Management actress Selma Blair got her usual shopping done from Decades Inc in West Hollywood looking cool as usual. Here is a single mom who focuses more on the comfort and quality of her attire than the glamour.




Socialite Nicole Richie is almost like Kim Kardashian when it comes to sticking to a colour choice as like Kim she also shares a liking for the colour black and is rarely seen in any other colour. This time she wore a fluffy black winter jacket with fake fur for the lapels and sleek leather pants as she stepped out in New York City.




Mad Men actress January Jones was dressed in casuals with a smart jean jacket as she arrived on a flight at LAX. The 35 year old star is reportedly in a fling with Miley’s fiancé Liam Hemsworth and I wonder if the sunglasses have a role to play here or she is just shading her eyes from the camera glare.




“Jumper” actor Hayden Christensen looked all relaxed and rejuvenated as he left a massage parlour in Studio City he visited with a friend. He got in to his luxurious car that stood right outside passing a smile in the direction of the cameras.





“Defiance” actress Julie Benz stepped out of her hotel in Vancouver to take her pet pooch to do its business which it did and she gladly cleaned up after it. I really respect the fact that she was in her best clothes and still made a point to pick up the stuff off the street.

He was mobbed the day before by some overexcited fans at his Django Unchained premiere in South Korea. But Leonardo DiCaprio struck a more solo figure as he strutted through Incheon International Airport on Friday. Keeping under wraps, the 38-year-old star shielded his eyes with some sunglasses and wore a newsboy cap on his head.

Meanwhile, Leonardo's mind seems to have been on other issues in the Far East in addition to his professional duties in South Korea - the kind-hearted star has called for a full ivory ban in Thailand.

The actor has offered his support to campaigning network Avaaz who are working on reducing the hunting of elephants for their ivory tusks in countries around the world including Thailand and Africa.

Leo recently said in a statement: 'This is the best chance we've had in years to have a meaningful victory for Africa's elephants - we just need to put people power behind it. Join me now to stop the bloody ivory trade.'

We'll never stop missing the Brooklyn icon or celebrating his life and music. His presence will always be felt in hip-hop. To commemorate the legacy of the legendary rapper, VIBE rewinds and revisits his most iconic music videos.

“One More Chance”

“One More Chance” gave fans a glimpse into a kick-ass Brooklyn house party, as well as the softer side of Biggie. The video featured cameo appearances from B.I.G.’s wife Faith Evans as well as slew of guest stars from Heavy D and Queen Latifah to Mary J.Blige and Aaliyah.

“Hypnotize”

Car chases (in reverse), Versace silk shirts and mermaids swimming in the livingroom; 1997’s “Hypnotize” had it all. The flashy, Paul Hunter-helmed visual was Biggie’s most ambitious music video to date and was filmed just before he passed way. It’s over-the-top opulence influenced hip-hop music videos for years to come.

The buzz out of Austin this afternoon is Danny Boyle's SXSW Film Festival talk with the New York Times' David Carr (more on that later). The filmmaker unveiled some footage of his new mindbending heist film (which we've seen mind you, and it's very good), "Trance," starring James McAvoy and Rosario Dawson, discussed his filmmaking career and his ongoing musical collaboration with Underworld's Rick Smith.

Much more exciting however, is our interview with Boyle this afternoon. While we have not many quotes to supply at the moment, Playlister Drew Taylor phoned in to deliver some quick news before he jumped into another screening and it's all quite tantalizing.

The first bit? Boyle's mooted sequel to "Trainspotting," the adaptation of author Irvine Welsh's own sequel, "Porno," is back on. Boyle told The Playlist he hopes to make the film in 2016 and thinks he can get the entire original cast, including Ewan McGregor, back on board. Boyle said he's very optimistic on his timetable and noted that John Hodge – who wrote "Trance,""Trainspotting,""Shallow Grave" and "A Life Less Ordinary," and last worked with Boyle in 2000 on "The Beach"– is working on the screenplay. "This has been a long time coming," he said.

What's more, Boyle has two other films in the works and both are period pieces. While he wouldn't divulge details of what eras they would be set in, the "Slumdog Millionaire" filmmaker did say that one was an adaptation of a book (which he wouldn't name) and the other is being written by Hodge.

Lastly, the filmmaker revealed that Naomie Harris of "28 Days Later" was cast as the female lead of "Trance"– the role that Rosario Dawson now has in the final film. Part of the reason was "Trance" was originally set in New York with one British female in the hypnotist role. When Boyle scored the summer 2012 Olympics gig to be closer to home, he changed the setting to London and then in a reverse move, changed the female lead to be the sole American in the movie. "Trance" hits U.S. theaters in limited release on April 5th.

Witnesses claim Ms Banks stopped mid-set to confront the Stone Roses, when the fight occurred.

It is alleged lead vocalist of the Stone Roses, 50 year old Ian Brown, was restrained by security after coming within two feet of Ms. Banks.

"The lead singer was screaming threats at her, saying ‘I want to fucking kill, you fucking n**ga’,” said a member of staff from Future Music Festival

Ms. Banks fired back on twitter saying, "Big apologies on behalf of the stone roses to my fans at the festival today.

"My ex tour manager made a pact with the stone roses saying they'd sabotage my set because I fired him.

"And they decided to check their equipment behind me during my set.

"Wow a bunch of old white men trying to bully a young black girl… What the fuck else is new in this world???”

Britney peaks the career of a starving artist.

Britney Spears is not known for being a patron of the arts, and on Saturday she made it clear that her tastes steer quite far from that of a connoisseur.

After making a run to Target in Westlake, California, the pop star pulled over to peruse a female artist's shop on the side of the road.

The 31-year-old bought a gaudy oil painting of a generic French street scene that appeared to have been copied from a postcard from Paris.

But apparently the artist could not have been bothered to bring any sense of authenticity to her painting as the shops lacked names altogether and simply advertised their particular type of business.

The awnings for the shops brandished nothing more than titles such as hotel, restaurant, and cafe - making no attempt at even mimicking an actual street in Paris.


The painting featured a quiet lane lined with shops captured in the glow of mid-afternoon sunlight.

Britney took ample time to discuss the painting with its artist and did her best to make an informed decision.

Other paintings at the roadside stand reportedly ranged in price from $600 to $1,200.

After making her selection, the Baby One More Time singer had her bodyguard make room for the artwork in the trunk of her SUV.

The former teen pop star made her foray into the art world dressed in grey joggers and a pair of orange-laced trainers.

She also wore a blue exercise top and a burgundy hooded jumper.

Once known as the Princess of Pop, Britney hid her highly recognisable face behind a pair of discreet aviator sunglasses and wore her famous hair in a casual pony tail.

The Scream & Shout singer is fresh from a very public breakup with Jason Trawick.

The pair dated for three years and the mother-of-two recently admitted she will 'always love' her former fiance.

Britney added: 'Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement. I'll always adore him and we will remain great friends.'

We've seen Justin TImberlake perform his comeback single "Suit & Tie" with Jay-Z during Super Bowl weekend, at the Grammys, and tonight, they teamed up to perform it on the latest episode of Saturday Night Live. But in this performance, it sounds like Justin took the opportunity to respond to Kanye West's "Suit & Tie" on-stage diss, changing his original song lyric, "Sh*t so sick/Got a hit and picked up a habit," to, "My hits so sick/Got rappers acting dramatic." Jenna-Louise Coleman has confirmed that Clara will be back in Doctor Who Series 8. She revealed the news earlier on Monday during an interview on Radio 5 Live with Richard Bacon.

Jenna also confirmed that Doctor Who will take a four-month filming break while Matt Smith goes to America to shoot the movie How to Catch a Monster. The show will resume in September (presumably beginning with the 2013 Christmas special and Series 8 following).

Matt Smith’s future was a little hazier with producer Marcus Wilson only saying: “We want him to stay the Doctor as long as possible.”

OK, this show is messed up. Has it made you more paranoid about meeting people on the street?
Yes. Because it's never the ones you expect! [Laughs]

Since your twin brother Aaron is also an actor, do you get recognized for work you haven't actually done?
Oh yeah. This is the first TV series I have done in 10 years — I did a Nickelodeon show called Animorphs and the Disney Channel's In a Heartbreat. It's my brother who was on Smallville and Warehouse 13. But we both did Fringe, and that was an amazing experience to work together.

What's like working with Kevin Bacon?
He has a presence. Not only is he a movie star, he's also a great actor. And those don't always go hand-in-hand. When you are doing a scene with Kevin Bacon, you know it.

We've learned from executive producer Kevin Williamson's Vampire Diaries that he has no trouble killing series regulars. Have you been warned not to get too comfy?
That hasn't happened, knock on wood. [Laughs] But it's always a possibility. This is the kind of show I like. When you are all of a sudden aware that a character that you love could be killed, or potentially be a killer, the stakes are high. So when a gun is held to a regular's head, you don't immediately think they will be OK. You never know.

And you guys really don't, right?
I still get scripts and am like 'whoa!' They're jaw-dropping. As an actor on a show like this, when we finish shooting an episode, it's a cliffhanger for us, too.

Given how scary the show is, is horror you kind of genre?
I can take violence. Slashers, monster movies, no problem. Ghost stories, I'm terrified of. I don't mess with the supernatural stuff. With a serial killer, I have a shot. You can't fight a ghost! [Laughs]

“Dancing Fools” premieres Wednesday, May 29th, at 9:00 – 9:30 p.m. ET/PT. The half-hour comedy clip show features the funniest, most outrageous and memorable dances caught on camera. The dancers from the top two clips of the week compete on stage for a chance to win $10,000. The series is hosted by Melissa Peterman, who also stars in ABC Family’s “Baby Daddy” and in the upcoming ABC reality series “Bet on Your Baby.”

From executive producer Jennifer Lopez (“American Idol,” “What to Expect When You’re Expecting,” “The Back-Up Plan”), ABC Family’s new original series “The Fosters” will premiere on Monday, June 3rd, at 9:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, following the series finale of “The Secret Life of the American Teenager.” The one-hour drama centers on two moms (Teri Polo and Sherri Saum) raising a multi-ethnic family mix of foster and biological kids. The series also stars Jake T. Austin, Hayden Byerly, David Lambert, Maia Mitchell, Danny Nucci and Cierra Ramirez.

“Twisted,” premiering on Tuesday, June 11th, at 9:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, is a one-hour mystery full of twists and turns that is centered on a charismatic 16-year-old with a troubled past (Avan Jogia) who has recently reconnected with his two female best friends from childhood (Maddie Hasson and Kylie Bunbury). He becomes the Prime Suspect when a fellow student is found dead in her home. The series also stars Kimberly Quinn, Sam Robards, Ashton Moio and Denise Richards.

“The Vineyard,” premiering on Wednesday, July 24th, at 9:00 – 10:00 p.m. ET/PT, is a dramatic coming-of-age docu-soap that follows a handful of 20-somethings on Martha’s Vineyard for the summer. Tight quarters, new friends and new rivals, all living, working and playing together, make this picturesque playground ripe for mischief and romance.
