    From JGL's tumblr:

    EXCITING NEWS! :oD
I am super stoked to announce that “Don Jon’s Addiction” - the movie I wrote & directed - just closed a really great deal and it’s going to come out all over the world!
This movie was made traditionally, as opposed to our collective collaborative process here at hitRECord. One day I do hope to make a feature film that way with you guys. I think the success that “Don Jon” has achieved so far will really help us in our future endeavors as a production company.
I do want to say that I have learned so much being hitRECord’s Director - working on all of our short films & various other productions. I could not have done “Don Jon’s Addiction” without all of the experience here on hitRECord & I owe you guys a lot!
    Thanks…
    And Thanks Again!
    <3
    J

I've been trying to post some more reviews/interviews to make this a master post but LJ sucks and I keep getting an error. If you want to find some interesting JGL interviews regarding this movie, head over to JGLnews on tumblr. They have a good compilation

Lindsay Lohan has gone from most wanted to The Wanted.

The 26-year-old troubled starlet posted an Instagram shot of herself with Max George on Monday – fueling more speculation that she’s dating the boy band singer.

The two have been linked together since George, 24 , found himself caught in the middle of some of the “Mean Girls” stars’ trademark drama after Lohan was arrested for punching a fortune teller at a New York City nightclub in November while partying with his band, The Wanted.

Lohan also saw the group perform at z100’s Jingle Ball back in December and followed them on the road for two more shows in Philadelphia and Boston, continuing to spark rumors of a budding romantic relationship.

    george-lohan-earlier

The speculated lovers kicked things up a notch when Lohan met George’s parents, TMZ reported last week.

“Max invited her out to his parents' house in Manchester while she was in the area,” a source told the gossip web site. “Lindsay happily made the visit early this week, and we're told Lindsay had a great time, hanging out with the whole George clan for an entire day, and she felt very at home. Max was adamant about her meeting his family.”

The Instagram photo appears to have been taken in a hotel room in London — sending the message to Lohan’s 294,000 followers that the pair is quite cozy with each other.

Lupe Fiasco took it there at a concert in celebration of Obama’s second inauguration at Hamilton Live in Washington D.C. last night (Jan. 20). After performing the first verse from “Words I Never Said,” his anti-war song taken from "Lasers" for a whole 30 minutes, the rapper made a statement about not voting for Obama in November’s election. Eventually, he was removed from the stage by security. However, event organizers continue to maintain Lupe was not kicked off for his words. Watch the footage and read their statement below.

StartUp RockOn is all about startups helping startups. At Sunday night’s Inauguration Celebration at the Hamilton Live, organizers set out to honor innovative visionaries with grants, accolades and a party worthy of the success we achieved at the RNC and DNC this summer.

Lupe Fiasco performed at this private event, and as you may have read, he left the stage earlier than we had planned. But Lupe Fiasco was not “kicked off stage” for an “anti-Obama rant.” We are staunch supporters of free speech, and free political speech. This was not about his opinions. Instead, after a bizarrely repetitive, jarring performance that left the crowd vocally dissatisfied, organizers decided to move on to the next act.

The party continued as planned, and we celebrated the announcement of CodeNow’s winning the Grant Challenge. CodeNow is a non-profit startup based in Washington DC that teaches “underrepresented high school students basic skills in computer programming.

Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. I'm surprised at how much the censors let them get away with to be honest. I can't wait for the next episode even though it's up against RuPaul's Drag Race and I am not happy about that decision Fox not one fucking bit. Kevin Williamson doing what he does best. <3 Anyway, thoughts on the pilot? Discuss.

Sundance 2013: Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Nabs 'Austenland' (Exclusive)

UPDATED: Sony Pictures Classics will release Jerusha Hess' directorial debut, which sold for north of $4 million, sources say.

PARK CITY -- Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has nabbed worldwide rights to Jerusha Hess' Austenland after several days of competitive bidding. Sources peg the deal at north of $4 million.

Sony Pictures Classics will release the film domestically.

The comedic spin on Jane Austen from director Hess originally sparked five bids; among the bidders was Exclusive Releasing/FilmDistrict, which initially had made separate bids but teamed up as counter offers escalated. But deal-making came to a halt as producer Stephenie Meyer was unavailable.

Hess, with husband Jared Hess who co-wrote Napoleon Dynamite and the Jack Black starrer Nacho Libre, penned Austenland with Shannon Hale.

The film follows a woman obsessed with a BBC production of Pride and Prejudice who travels to a Jane Austen-styled English resort to find her perfect gentleman.

Austenland premiered Jan. 18 at Eccles Theatre as part of Sundance's U.S. Dramatic Competition section. It stars Keri Russell, JJ Feild, Jennifer Coolidge, Georgia King and James Callis.

Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson may be a mouthful, but it's certainly memorable. Uma Thurman explained why she and boyfriend Arpad Busson gave their 6-month-old baby girl such a long name during a Jan. 14 appearance on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.

The Smash star credited Maya, her 14-year-old daughter with ex-husband Ethan Hawke, for giving her the idea."My daughter came up with the best excuse, which was that I probably wouldn't get to have any more children, so I just put every name that I liked into [Luna's]," the 42-year-old Kill Bill actress said. "We couldn't quite agree on the name, so we call her Luna. She's lucky that way."

Referencing her newborn's surname, Thurman joked that "the last part makes sense."

"And then the rest, she can name all her own children all these interesting names," the actress laughed. "Proud, Catholic, observant!"

Us Weekly exclusively broke the news of Luna's birth in July 2012. Thurman also has an 11-year-old son, Levon, with Hawke, 42. The former spouses met on the set of Gattaca in 1997.

Remember earlier this year when we shared with you an amazing collaboration between Adam Lambert and Cyndi Lauper of “Mad World” during a performance in New York City? Well, we just have even more amazing news to share with you. Lambert and Lauper were so great on stage and their chemistry was perfect. Their voices join incredibly well together. In fact, they were so good that they will most likely record the song together.

    A source exclusively reveals:

“Adam and Cyndi talked after their performance. They want to record their duet of Mad World at the studio and release it. It’s just a project they want to do for fun.”

This is pretty cool news. We are most definitely excited to be able to buy a collaboration like this. Are y’all excited or what?

Former "One Life to Live" star Scott Evans has pled GUILTY to attempted cocaine possession following his arrest last month -- but TMZ has learned, he won't spend a day in the slammer.

We broke the story ... Scott -- brother of "Captain America" Chris Evans -- was busted last month and charged with one count of attempted possession of a controlled substance after trying to buy coke from an undercover cop.

He originally pled not guilty to the charge ... but changed his plea in exchange for no jail time.

Scott agreed to attend 60 Narcotics Anonymous meetings -- and if he goes to all the meetings in the next six months (and stays out of trouble) the judge will throw out the case .. almost like it never happened.

Scott's lawyer Shepard Kopp tells us the actor isn't wasting any time -- he's already knocked out a few classes.

Reality TV Producers Desperately Seeking Real Life Girls Just Like the Ones in Girls

Just as the O.C. begat Laguna Beach and Big Love begat Sister Wives, the interest in twenty-somethings trying to make it in New York has peaked: An "Emmy-winning" production company is looking for real life young women like the girls in Girls.

An ad posted on Craigslist on Friday reads:

Ever feel like life in the big frantic city is just too much? Are you a twenty-something young woman seeking fame, fortune, love or even a hookup with potential? How do you get from here to there when you can't even get a seat on the L train! Come to a casting call with our Emmy-winning production company and tell us your dreams and woes, your highs and lows, your tales of *** in the city and the outrageous opportunities that have come your way. Is your circle of friends bound together by not just the parties, fights, and brunches but frequent bouts of commiserating over your struggles? It isn't easy taking the road less travelled, but making it as a writer, designer, entrepreneur, actress/model or glorified dog walker never is!

The real life television show we are making follows the trials and tribulations of an ensemble of wise-beyond-their-years young ladies. We are with you living the dream in hipster Brooklyn and lower Manhattan. Only well educated and cultured extroverts need apply. Are you thinking about that show—"Girls?" Well we didn't say it but. . ..now that you mention it.

As a trope, the "bright young thing in the big city" storyline has been done: That Girl, starring Marlo Thomas, first aired in 1966. Since then, there's been Rhoda, Laverne & Shirley, and even, to some extent, sitcoms like Kate & Allie and Punky Brewster. In the late '90s, Sex And The City dominated the consciousness in terms of what it was to be single and defining yourself in New York; the short-lived How To Make It in America was a more recent, more male-oriented attempt at telling the tale.

Now Girls has thrown a spotlight on the "educated, cultured extroverts," the book-smart/relationship-naive young women this city is teeming with. But where Girls concerns itself with one specific, very narrow slice of this demographic — white, cisgendered, heterosexual broke Brooklyn dwellers — a reality show, done properly, could present a more accurate version of events. There are plenty of clever, well-educated twenty-somethings making twenty-something in this town, and not all of them are white. Or straight. Or accepting money from their parents for rent. Girls may be one entertaining way to tell a story — with its deranged wardrobe choices and narcissistic goals — but those of us who live here know that there's a wide range smart young ladies in this town, an international, multiculti mix of gender, sexuality, race, styles, dreams and passions, from the glossy PR gals to those interested in non-profits, science or tech. This city's a magnet for folks from around the globe hoping to do interesting things with their lives. Whether or not casting directors can lure these people out — whether or not these people would deign to appear on a reality show — remains to be seen. Usually reality shows don't necessarily reflect the actual state of affairs, but with the right casting, a reality show could get closer to a more universal truth than Girls.

"I knew I was going to be the ringleader calling the shots of this show. These people are like pawns in my circus. I get these women all fucked up and I love it."

That's Ashlee, she knows she's the villain of the show -- and she's just fine with that. "People know what reality television is. We're here to entertain."

Ashlee is living the high life in the tony Buckhead section of Atlanta: "I live in the most affluent high-rise. I'm in the middle of this town, I know this town, I run this town. I was Miss [Teen] Georgia, so I didn't mind going there and telling these girls that were wannabes what was up."

Not that anyone else in the cast measures up to Ashlee's pedigree: "Honestly, there's not but maybe a couple of people in this show that are in my society. I actually got to see people who are not what I'd consider rich, but they are rich in their society and their part of Atlanta."

She promises big things: "There are three things that will happen on this show that have never happened in the history of reality television, and in all three of them, I'm in some way involved in. If people don't tune into this show, they don't appreciate reality television. I'd like to say that I was the mastermind behind it."

And if that's not enough, Ashlee says, "When you watch this show you'll see what happens when you fuck with the boss."

Model Ashlee Wilson Hawn has quit the series and is refusing to return because a fellow cast member attacked her, according to a source.

Khadijah Rowe “beat” Hawn “ripping chunks of hair from her head, tearing her clothes off and throwing her to the ground,” a show insider claims.

The drama apparently began on October 2 at the Havana Club in Atlanta where Hawn, 28, was celebrating her birthday. The source says that Rowe — who’s stepfather Q Parker is a member of R&B group 112 — stuck “her fingers in Ashlee’s birthday cake.”

“So Ashlee went up to her and said: ‘Why would you do that?’ Khadijah got irate and started screaming at Ashlee calling her a bitch and a motherfucker and saying: ‘I’m gonna kick your ass’.”

“Ashlee was 2 feet from her and that’s when Khadijah lunged, grabbed her ponytail and pulled it all the way down. She ripped off the left side of Ashlee’s dress, pulled her hair out and dragged her along the ground. The cameras didn’t stop filming the entire time.”

“Ashlee didn’t even want to invite Khadijah to her birthday party. She sat the producers down the night before and said: ‘She’s going to end up hurting me very, very badly’. She's quit the show and she’s never going back, the source says. She nearly did return. Then the show’s producers asked her to sign paperwork waiving her right to sue Khadijah.

This February, Cartoon Network’s hit animated series Adventure Time introduces the next chapter in its fan-favorite “Fionna and Cake” (derived by Finn and Jake) saga with the network premiere of “Bad Little Boy.”

Starring highly-regarded comedic actors Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother) and Donald Glover (Community), the special episode premieres Monday, Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m. (ET, PT).

Reprising his role as Prince Gumball from season three’s much-loved gender switch episode “Adventure Time with Fionna and Cake,” Neil Patrick Harris will join Donald Glover, as Marshall Lee, the musical male counterpart to fan favorite Marceline the Vampire Queen in “Bad Little Boy.” In this special episode, the princesses are sick and tired of Ice King’s crazy Fionna and Cake stories, so Marceline stops by the Ice Kingdom to show him how it’s done.

Fans will also get to bring home 2011’s original, top-rated–and gender-flipped – episode of their favorite series with the all-new DVD release of Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake available on Tuesday, February 19.

Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake DVD features a total of 16 episodes from seasons two, three and four of the Emmy Award-nominated series hand-picked by creator Pendleton Ward and the show team. Available for the suggested retail price of $19.82, the DVD features a Land of Ooo character gallery bonus feature and the following episodes:

Adventure Time with Fionna and Cake
    Storytelling
    The Other Tarts
    The Silent King
    Death in Bloom
    Still
    Wizard Battle
    What Was Missing
    From Bad to Worse
    Marceline’s Closet
    Ghost Princess
    Incendium
    Card Wars
    Princess Cookie
    You Made Me
    Lady and Peebles

To help gear-up for the premiere of “Bad Little Boy” and Adventure Time: Fionna & Cake DVD release, Cartoon Network.com launches a new Adventure Time game, “Fionna and Cake,” available beginning February 11. The game features Fionna, Cake and Marshall Lee on their way to Lumpy Space Princess’ (I think they mean Lumpy Space Prince) party where players will play Fionna, jumping around and taking out flying enemies. The mobile version of the game will be available February 14 and includes special power-up features like spells, characters, potions and swords.

So this is how it’s going to be, eh S.H.I.E.L.D.?

The first batch of maddeningly vague images from the heavily buzzed-about ABC pilot have hit the Internet. Here’s director-writer-producer Joss Whedon in between takes, tweeted by co-writer Maurissa Tancharoen. He’s looking at nothing in particular. In fact, you can’t even really see him! He’s just a shadowy figure, like Moriarty or Deep Throat or Red John. But it’s S.H.I.E.L.D.! It’s not-quite-The Avengers on TV. So you still want to see this, right? Also, a couple more Tweeted pics — a S.H.I.E.L.D. pickup truck (perfect for helping a defender of America’s freedom move to a new apartment) and co-writer Jed Whedon’s chair. A source tells us filming started today in Los Angeles. And as we reported during the TV critics’ press tour, ABC is quite excited about this project.
