Word on the street is that Azealia Banks has been dropped from her label home Interscope Records. It seems like they have not renewed some short-term contract for new recordings from the Harlem-bred 21-year-old. Looks like they just dropped her, straight up. Not sure of the source, but she was supposed to drop and album in the first quarter of this year and it seems like Broke With Expensive Taste will be on hold.

I guess Azealia Banks' new year is rather off to a rocky start, as I was scrolling through my emails and came across this tip about the Harlem rapper being dropped by her record label, Interscope. Here's what the email reads:
Harlem lyricist Azealia Banks is the latest casualty of a major label deal cut short.
Interscope Records, the Universal Music Group label founded by Jimmy Iovine is reportedly not picking up the much-buzzed-about the 21-year-old rapper's option for future recordings, says a source close to the situation. When approached today about Banks' current debut album situation, the label insider simply stated, "Azealia Banks will no longer be releasing her LP under Interscope."
Broke with Expensive Taste, was scheduled to be released in February so perhaps this clarifies the lack of promotion and official releases for a debut album that was supposed to drop within weeks.

Prosecutors handling Gabriel Aubry's criminal case in which the Canadian model was arrested after getting into a vicious Thanksgiving Day brawl with French actor Olivier Martinez - who's now engaged to Aubry's ex Halle Berry - determined there was no need for him to go to anger management classes, and the case is officially closed, RadarOnline is exclusively reporting.

"The Los Angeles City Attorney's Office could have ordered Gabe to attend anger management classes, even though he wasn't officially charged with any crimes," a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline exclusively.

"Gabe attended an informal office hearing, and it was determined that there was absolutely no need for him to enroll in any sort of anger management classes or counseling. Gabe is just thankful to put this ordeal behind him and focus on being Nahla's father," the insider added.

Berry's on-going battle with Aubry escalated earlier this year after she announced that she wanted to move with their daughter, Nahla, to France with Martinez.

Tensions between the warring exes came to a nasty head in November, after an epic Thanksgiving Day brawl between Aubry and Martinez. According to the Canadian-born model's sworn testimony, Martinez was angry at Aubry over not being allowed to move to France with Nahla, allegedly accusing Aubry of costing him "$3 million in legal fees" for the custody tug-of-war.

However, despite Aubry's shocking injuries, the matter was eventually settled amicably out of court.

Is Halle Berry shopping for a church this holiday season?

The Academy Award winning actress, who has experienced a tumultuous year battling her ex-boyfriend and baby daddy Gabriel Aubry, escaped Los Angeles for the holidays with her French fiance Olivier Martinez, and jetted over to Paris where they were spotted checking out churches, and RadarOnline has the photos.

Bundled up in a winter coat, leather leggings and boots, Berry and Martinez held hands as they took a stroll in the City of Light's romantic Saint Germain Quarter.

According to onlookers, the couple checked out Saint-Sulpice and the Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-pres, two historic churches in the picturesque city.

Wired has posted a video interview with Alfie Allen where he talks about his character, Theon. Not much new revealed here, but Alfie is always entertaining.

    See it here.

Winter Is Coming: his is probably a good post to open up discussion on Theon. I don’t think it is any great surprise to say that we haven’t seen the last of the only living son of Balon Greyjoy. What do you expect from Theon’s arc this season?

    Sum up:
He says he'll agree Theon's a bit of a "dick", but says he hasn't had much choice in his life.
Says when he does, they are rash decisions.
Says if he was hand of the king, his first decision would be free brothels

For all you beer snobs out there (and I consider myself one), Fast Co. Create has a short article with some details on Brewery Ommegang’s process in creating Iron Throne Blonde Ale, the official Game of Thrones beer.

For its inaugural beer, Ommegang decided to go with a beer that was flavorful but not too complex. “We wanted to make something that was fairly easy to drink while you watch the show,” explains Ommegang brewer and Innovation Manager Mike McManus. So in lieu of a dark, heavy beer, they chose a blond ale and zeroed in on the evil Lannister family for inspiration. “We wanted something fair-colored that related to the fair-haired Lannister household. There’s also a certain amount of conniving and back-door dealing that they do. To relate to that, we used a traditional spice in Belgian beer called grains of paradise. We also used lemon peel to make the beer a bit tart.”

Also revealed in the article is that the beer will be available in draft form.

UPDATE: Thanks to Mosh for pointing out this interview with Ommegang’s head of PR, where he gives some history on how the partnership with HBO came about and offers some hints as to what other GoT tie-in drinks they may have coming in the future.

Vampire Weekend's third album is influenced by jazz, Bob Dylan and The Clash according to Rostam Batmanglij.

The multi-instrumentalist spoke to Uncut about the forthcoming album, the US band's first since 2010's 'Contra'. Discussing the influences and sounds the band are creating, Batmanglij said: "The goal was to use organic sounds and put them in a context that you might not have heard before. It's certainly darker and grittier than 'Contra'. A lot of these songs are about conflict. They're about the choices we can make, being able to do what we want with our lives."

He added: "With 'Contra' I was interested in a kind of arty, '80's New York sound, but this album goes deeper. It gets into the '50s and some of it sounds like jazz, but broken down into its most basic elements and played in a very simple way. It's more of a subtle kind of complexity and there's an intimacy to the performances, both vocal and instrumental, that are very special. I think the sound of the piano is central to the record."

Batmanglij went on to mention song titles such as 'Don't Lie', 'Hudson' and 'Unbeliever', which the band played during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel's US chat show at Halloween last year. The guitarist compared the new songs to bob Dylan and The Clash, saying his friends told him the songs sound "scary".

Back in June, frontman Ezra Koenig admitted that working on the new LP had been a "long process" but hinted that they were nearing completion on the record.

"We always try to write and record at the same time," he said. "So we've always got some ProTools session demo that tends to actually turn into the finished product. I think we have 80 per cent of the songs now."

Koenig had previously hinted that the as-yet-untitled new album could be released later this year, but added: "I always want to release music as soon as possible, but more and more I'm realising it's something you almost have no control over."

  • 01/05/13--17:33: BBC Sound of 2013 announced!

  • Haim, a trio of Californian sisters who have been compared to Fleetwood Mac, have come top of the BBC Sound of 2013 new music list.

The list, which aims to showcase the best new acts for the year ahead, was compiled using tips from 213 UK-based critics, broadcasters and bloggers.

Now in its 11th year, previous winners include Michael Kiwanuka, Jessie J, Adele, Mika, Ellie Goulding and Keane.

BBC Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens said Haim had a "contagious enthusiasm".

    How the list is compiled

"Haim have an unapologetic passion for music that shines in their songs," he said. "They're brilliant musicians who have a real talent for tunes that merge their tales of growing up in the 21st Century with a classic songwriting ability."

The sisters have already supported British artists Florence and the Machine and Mumford and Sons live.

Este, Danielle and Alana Haim, who are aged between 21 and 26, started playing music as children when their parents enlisted them into a family covers band.

The sisters all play guitar, drums and sing and are still occasionally known to pull their mother and father on stage.

Haim's songs pay homage to feelgood, freewheeling '70s rock and anthemic '80s synth-pop, gaining a modern sheen by borrowing rhythms from contemporary R&B.

The 213 tastemakers - ranging from music magazine editors and newspaper critics to influential bloggers, DJs and radio and TV producers - each named their favourite three new acts.

They were free to choose performers from any country and any musical genre.

Artists who had scored a UK top 20 single or album before 11 November 2012 were ineligible, as were those already well-known to the UK public - for example by featuring in the final stages of a TV talent show or already being a member of a successful band.

    Previous Sound of... winners

    Sound of 2012: Michael Kiwanuka
    Sound of 2011: Jessie J
    Sound of 2010: Ellie Goulding
    Sound of 2009: Little Boots
    Sound of 2008: Adele
    Sound of 2007: Mika
Sound of 2006: Corinne Bailey Rae
    Sound of 2005: The Bravery
    Sound of 2004: Keane
    Sound of 2003: 50 Cent

The tips were compiled into a longlist of the top 15 artists, which was published in December, and the top five have been revealed this week.

In second place were London R&B duo AlunaGeorge, with uncompromising New York-based rapper Angel Haze in third. Birmingham soul singer Laura Mvula was fourth and Glasgow electro-pop outfit Chvrches completed the top five.

It is the first time that the top five acts have all been female or fronted by women.

Este Haim said: "It's the craziest thing to think we're on a list with so many amazing artists. This year the five bands that were in the list were all female fronted, right?

"We love the UK - the last time we were there, we were there for almost a month and a half. The UK is like a second home."

NME magazine's new music editor Matt Wilkinson, who took part in the poll, said Haim "have a knack for writing amazingly catchy singles, they're a killer live band and they talk the talk miles better than most other new bands".

"It's a rare and exciting combination," he added.

Michael Kiwanuka was top of the Sound of 2012 list. The London troubadour sold 500,000 copies of his debut album Home Again around the world last year and was nominated for the Mercury Prize.

The other previous winners are: Jessie J (Sound of 2011), Ellie Goulding (Sound of 2010), Little Boots (Sound of 2009), Adele (Sound of 2008), Mika (Sound of 2007), Corinne Bailey Rae (Sound of 2006), The Bravery (Sound of 2005), Keane (Sound of 2004) and 50 Cent (Sound of 2003).

Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens beats Tom Hiddleston to be named the UK's best-dressed man

i suppose he has a personality

Downton Abbey's Dan Stevens made a dramatic departure from the show that made his name i a two-hour special of dreary Christmas Day viewing. The reason? In his words, to pursue new roles. But little did he know his first would be of a sartorial variety...

The actor's dapper dressing has landed him the title of best dressed man of 2012, according to GQ magazine - pipping the likes of Eddie Redmayne, Tom Hiddleston and Robert Pattinson to pole position. His array of snappy suits - perhaps inspired by Matthew's smart attire - can be seen in the string of well-chosen ensembles he has been sporting on the red carpet over the past year...

Coming in second is The Hollow Crown's Tom Hiddleston followed by rapper Tinie Tempah, Radio 1 Breakfast Show host Nick Grimshaw and X Factor presenter Dermot O'Leary.

Prince Charles will be chuffed with his newfound fashion status, finishing eighth in this year's list - streets ahead of his sons Princes Harry and William, with the Duke of Cambridge awarded a disappointing 37th place.

At the other end of the spectrum, the magazine also named and shamed the worst dressed of the past year with singer Ed Sheeran (below)  topping the list of fashionably-challenged famous faces.

Hollywood star Dakota Fanning called G-Dragon, from the Kpop group Big Bang, directly (update that it was actually her agent) and she said she wants to meet him.

According to G-Dragon's close acquaintance, Dakota Fanning will visit Korea on January 5th and will stay in Korea. She wants to meet him during her stays. She is G-Dragon's big fan and she wants to have dinner with him.

G-Dragon's close acquaintance said "Dakota Fanning and G-Dragon will meet at YG building. There's no minutely schedule yet, but these two star's meeting will be a big issue."

Unfortunately for Dakota shortly after this spread on twitter came this from YG
YG Entertainment said that GD is also a fan of Dakota Fanning, but because of conflicting schedule they are going to meet next time.

    Update #2 from Dakota's side:
However, a contradicting statement was released by Dakota’s representatives, who stated, “Dakota Fanning never called G-Dragon, and they never promised to meet in Korea. There’s no truth to the rumors.” As well as, “Dakota’s side never called G-Dragon’s side. It is not true that they were in contact to meet up,” emphasizing that the reports were completely false.

You've seen the fantastic The Hobbit/The Office mash-up, right?

A rather brilliant person has taken chunks of dialogue, and a few other bits, from The Office and spliced it into The Hobbit. It’s very good.

When you see it, it’s obvious. The title character from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is played by Martin Freeman, who made his name in Ricky Gervais’ masterful The Office. That inspired Eagerbeaverfilms to put the two together to make one really good video.

As well as Freeman repeating his dialogue as Tim from the sitcom we also have Gervais appear as David Brent/Gandalf and even Keith turns up as Bombur.

But easily the best bit is the Gareth/Gollum character, which is exceptional.

Make sure you stay around for the credits too, which are Airplane-esque in their funniness.

On the difference between Hunger Games director Gary Ross and Catching Fire director Francis Lawrence: “They're almost polar opposites,” Lawrence said of the two directors, being quick to add, “and both are completely perfect for these movies. Francis is kind of genius at building different worlds and transporting you into another world. The vibe on set is much quieter. Gary is very energetic. Francis is very laid-back and very calm.”

On the difference between filming Catching Fire and Winter's Bone: “The vibe on [Winter’s Bone] set was exactly what makes me love indies. The only reason we were all out there in the freezing cold was because we loved the project. I love that feeling, that desperate, almost pathetic feeling of ‘Are we actually going to be able to pull this off?’”

On Silver Linings Playbook director David O. Russell: “He’s such a goofball. I love him so much. If Bradley wasn't on the set, we never would have finished the movie. Bradley would come and find David and me making videos, pretending to wipe our asses with coffee napkins, and he would be like, 'We have to finish the day!’”

On being discovered: “I was in New York, just watching street dancing, and this model scout asked if he could take a picture. I had no idea that was creepy. So I was like, 'Yeah, sure,’ and I gave him my mom's phone number. And then he called and said all these agents wanted to meet, and we were like, 'Might as well.’ I was playing field hockey and cheerleading and wanted to be a doctor—but within 20 minutes, in the cab ride from the hotel room, I decided I didn’t want to be a model, that, in fact, I wanted to be an actress, and I would only sign with an agency if they would let me audition for commercials and act as well. I don't know where that came from. And one of them gave me a script, to audition, the next day, and I read the script and it was the first time I had that feeling like I understand this. This is the first time I've ever understood anything. I was 14. And my brothers were star athletes. And one of them was a straight-A student. I always felt like I sucked at everything, that I could never find the thing that I liked. I auditioned and I probably sucked, but I had decided 100 percent that this is what I wanted to do."

On her casual approach to acting:“I don't even really watch playback [when making a movie]. Not that I'm against it. But I always forget. Every time they call 'Cut,' I'm at the craft tables."

On her similarities with Katniss: “I read the Hunger Games books when it was Oscar season, so for the first time I was in these dresses which didn't look like me and didn't feel like me. I felt like a walking rag doll. I remember sitting there in hair and makeup, listening to the things that they were talking about, and most of the things I didn't even know. My dad called them the pit crew—they did hair and makeup and nails all at the same time. So I read that and I was like, 'I know exactly how that feels.' And then, in the second book, people's relationships to you suddenly change. You're aware of people staring at you. [...] I call my mom sobbing all the time. But it's dealing with the repercussions of having no more anonymity. You lose privacy. And then, the third book, I teared up when I read it, because she finally realizes she can do good with it. Children are in the hospital. and just going and meeting them can lift their spirits and give them hope. As much as this is a curse, as stupid as it sounds, to make as much money as I am by doing something that I love, it's hard not to regret it when you're being chased by 15 strangers."

On acting being 'stupid':On the first movie I met this girl [via Make-a-Wish], and I can't tell this story without crying. [...] She had scars all over her body—burns—and she was telling me she was always so ashamed of the way she looked and she was so embarrassed, and now she has the nickname the Girl on Fire, but she loves it and wears it proudly. It gives her confidence. That was the first time in my entire career that I actually felt like there was a point in this. Not to sound rude, but it is stupid. Everybody's like, 'How can you remain with a level head?' And I'm like, 'Why would I ever get cocky? I'm not saving anybody's life. There are doctors who save lives and firemen who run into burning buildings. I'm making movies. It's stupid.'"

On the movies she watches over and over:“Yeah, but they're not artistic movies. Things like Dumb and Dumber. Planes, Trains and Automobiles. That's a great movie—I won't make excuses for that one. There's Something About Mary. I just watched that for the 50th time. Bridget Jones's Diary is the one that, no matter when it's on, I will watch it. Anytime.

On being a fan:I had the basic 'NSync obsession. And Leonardo DiCaprio. But when kids do weird things to me, I'm like, 'I never did that when I was little.' ... I went nuts over Harry Potter and read it four times and pretended I was a witch, but I don't think I would have done some of the—actually, that's not true. I saw Daniel Radcliffe when I was doing David Letterman and I flipped out. I was screaming. So never mind. I take back everything I said.

On her trouble with lying:“I get the weirdest anxiety. I swear to God, I blame my mom. When I was in elementary school, I told everyone I had a leg problem and it required a lot of attention, my imaginary leg problem, and I didn't know if I was going to live or die. And my mother comes to school, and one of my classmates is like, 'How is Jennifer's leg?' And my mom looks at me and she knows I've been lying and she made me purge. I was on the floor and she drew all the lies out of me that I had ever told. She made me tell every single lie, and I was, like, crying. It was horrible! I swear. I blame her. Even the smallest thing, like 'How's your day'?' If' I'm having a bad day and I say, 'It was good,’ I'm like, Oh. God!, and I have to purge."

read more at the source, 2, 3.

The article was a rather bland puff piece but VF kinda scr*wed her over by releasing the 'acting is stupid' quote out of its full context.

The pair seemed camera-shy after emerging from a Gun Sales shop with a large metal case.

She made a name for herself as the squeaky clean star of High School Musical.

But it would seem Vanessa Hudgens has developed more grown-up tastes of late after she and boyfriend Austin Butler visited a shooting range together on Friday.

And the 24-year-old actress certainly seemed as though as she had something to hide as she left the indoor centre, covering up her face with a large image of of a man pointing a gun to the head of another person.

Meanwhile, Austin, 21, was carrying a large metal case as he emerged from the gun sales section of the range.

The couple had started their day in a more relaxed fashion, heading off for a hike in Sherman Oaks, California, to kick start their morning with some activity.

But once again, they seemed particularly camera shy as they stepped out linking arms, with both covering their faces with baseball caps.

Vanessa looked dressed for activity in a sporty black ensemble and trainers, while Austin chose a hooded zip-through jumper, tracksuit bottoms and hiking shoes for their day out.

This isn't the first time Vanessa has displayed something of a penchant for guns, with the star previously posing in a series of photos in which she aimed a gun at the camera while she filmed Spring Breakers last year.

On Thursday, the actress spent the day partaking in her favourite hobby - yoga - before heading to a Los Angeles nail salon with her sister Stella.

Showing off the results of her almost daily yoga sessions, the brunette beauty flashed her washboard stomach in a hot pink vest, which she teamed with black leggings, a black sweat jacket, a beanie hat and pink-laced trainers.

After their pampering session, the girls headed out for a spot of well-earned lunch together.

Vanessa, who is fresh off her trip to New York with boyfriend Austin Butler, seems to be relishing the Los Angeles scenery of late, writing on her official website: 'Loveeee being back home in sunny LA for the Holidays! Specially love doing my morning hike in Runyon. Look at that blue sky.'

Earlier in the day, Vanessa and Austin - who try to fit in as much time together as possible - went for a couples' yoga session.

Soon Austin will be busy promoting his new series The Carrie Diaries, which premieres on The CW Network on January 14.

Meanwhile, Vanessa will be plugging her new films Gimme Shelter and Machete Kills.

Rumor: John Krasinski Up for Star-Lord in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY; Isaiah Mustafa, Brian Patrick Wade, and Dave Bautista Vie for Drax the Destroyer

Earlier today we added Michael Rosenbaum to the shortlist to play Peter Quill (aka Star-Lord) in Guardians of the Galaxy alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Jim Sturgess, and Zachary Levi. One more possibility has surfaced for Star-Lord, but the casting rumors have branched out with a shortlist for Drax the Destroyer. First up: CBM hears that Marvel is “still high on” John Krasinski for Star-Lord, a “master strategist and combat expert who wears an ability-enhancing suit and pilots a psychically-linked ship.” Marvel had their eye on Krasinski for Captain America once upon a time. Although that didn’t work out the studio is still understandably keen on Krasinski. Peter Quill is set up to be the central character in James Gunn‘s adaptation of the Marvel comic.

For Drax the Destroyer, Marvel is reportedly looking at Isaiah Mustafa, Brian Patrick Wade, and Dave Bautista. Interesting list: Mustafa is best known as the Old Spice Guy and Bautista is a former WWE professional wrestler. Wade by comparison is just your typical actor—given his unspectacular resume, we can conclude Marvel is not seeking big names to play Drax, a superhuman warrior created to defeat Thanos. Hit the jump for character bios.

Wikipedia has this backstory for Star-Lord:
“Peter Quill is born during an unusual astronomical phenomenon when many of the planets align. Seeing no resemblance, the man who believed he was Quill’s father accuses his wife Meredith of infidelity and attempts to kill the infant, but dies of a sudden heart attack. Quill is raised by his single mother until she is killed by an alien. Quill is placed in an orphanage but escapes and eventually becomes a trainee NASA astronaut. An alien entity called the Master of the Sun eventually visits the space station that Quill and other astronauts are inhabiting, and offers the mantle of Star-Lord (an interplanetary policeman) to a worthy candidate. Quill volunteers, but is rejected in favor of a colleague he once treated badly.

Quill is outraged, and NASA orders his return to Earth and discharge for his conduct. Instead, he steals a scoutship, returns to the space station, and takes his colleague’s place. Quill becomes Star-Lord, with the Master of the Sun first creating an illusion in which the character is able to find and kill the aliens that murdered his mother to free him of his past. Equipped with a sentient vessel called “Ship”, Quill commences his role as Star-Lord.”

And the origin story for Drax:
“While driving through a desert with his wife and daughter, Arthur Douglas’ car is attacked by a spaceship piloted by Thanos, who thinks the humans have seen him. His daughter, Heather, survives the crash and is adopted by Thanos’ father, Mentor, and raised on Titan. She later becomes Moondragon.

Up All Night creator Emily Spivey has become the latest casualty of the NBC comedy.

Ahead of its reboot from a single- to multicamera series, the creator of the sophomore vehicle has opted to part ways with the second-year comedy, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Spivey's exit comes a month after showrunner Tucker Crawley was replaced by Nurse Jackie's Linda Wallem as NBC and studio Universal Television opted to make some creative changes to the struggling Christina Applegate-Will Arnett-Maya Rudolph series at its midseason point.

Crawley, for his part, replaced original showrunner Jon Pollack. The former departed in December to work as a consulting producer on Fox's The Mindy Project, which is produced by Universal Media Studios.

The modestly rated Up All Night will resume production in February, after a three-month hiatus, with three additional episodes tacked on to its initial order of 16. At that time, the Lorne Michaels-produced comedy will transition from singlecamera to a generally cheaper and often broader multicamera format, a process that has entailed building new soundstages to be able to film the series in front of a live studio audience.

Up All Night will return to NBC in April or May. The creative change marks the second for the comedy this year after the Rudolph's talk-show format was ditched in the season two premiere earlier this fall. All of the tweaks come as NBC looks to refresh their comedy brand as a destination for more broadly appealing fare, which entertainment chief Jennifer Salke outlined in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter last month.

RIP Up All Night. This show had so much potential & NBC's going to cause it to crash & burn.

The WWE's John Cena is about to lay the smackdown on Fred Flintstone, booting the prehistoric cartoon character from Fruity Pebbles boxes.

Flintstones fans, relax: Fred isn't being sent back to the Stone Age. It's a limited-edition promotion covering 4 million boxes of Fruity and Cocoa Pebbles, so Fred will still appear on some varieties. But his presence is likely to be Yabba-Dabba-subdued in the future as Post Holdings reshapes its packaging strategy for Fruity and Cocoa Pebbles, which will now front a variety of Flintstones characters in rotation, including Fred, Barney, Pebbles, Bamm-Bamm and Dino.
    John Cena

"We've just been talking with kids. They wanted more variety," said Sharon Pupel, a Post marketing director. "Fred isn't necessarily the … coolest or [most] relevant guy for kids who we are going after."

John Cena, though, apparently is. The WWE first entered into a deal with Post last year after Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson began teasing Mr. Cena for his brightly colored ring-gear, saying he looked like a "big, fat bowl of Fruity Pebbles." WWE executives say the plot twist was not an overt attempt to lure a new sponsor. But the WWE reached out to Post after it caught on with fans, who began chanting "Fruity Pebbles" in arenas.

Mr. Cena was featured last year on 3 million boxes of Fruity Pebbles, but he was relegated to the top of the box, while Fred still appeared front and center. Now, Mr. Cena has prominent placement on the front and center of boxes, a rare feat for a non-Flintstones character. Other promotions are planned, including a sweepstakes, as well as a likely return of Mr. Cena to the front of boxes in the back-to-school period.

For the WWE, the deal marks its most-significant partnership with a mainstream, family food brand since the organization began seeking such deals in the wake of toning down its act in 2008 to achieve a PG rating for the "Monday Night Raw" program. "It doesn't happen overnight," said Andrew Judelson, WWE's exec VP-sales and sponsorship. "Just because we say we've moved to PG doesn't mean corporate America immediately is going to respond," he added. "It takes consistency, it takes time and I think what's happening now ... is there is a tipping point." Other recent deals include a promotion with Colgate-Palmolive's Irish Spring soap. Mr. Judelson signaled that other similar deals are in the works.

But the show, which once matched up scantily clad divas in thongs and routinely included sexual references, has hit a few bumps on the road to family-friendly viewing. In 2011, gay-advocacy groups criticized how Mr. Cena responded to the Rock when he began using the Fruity Pebbles line. As reported by gay and lesbian magazine Metro Weekly, Mr. Cena went on a rapping tirade that included a couple of anti-gay slurs, including a demeaning reference to "Brokeback Mountain." The WWE apologized and struck up a partnership with the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation that included sensitivity training. "We know that we have a gay fan-base, [so] we welcomed that opportunity," said a WWE spokeswoman.

As for the "Fruity Pebbles" moniker itself, the WWE says that merely refers to Mr. Cena's colorful gear, and nothing else.

Taylor's pa tells 1D star not to break her heart

ONE Direction’s Harry Styles has been ordered by girlfriend Taylor Swift’s dad: “Don’t break my daughter’s heart.” The teen heart-throb has had a man-to-man chat with Scott Kingsley Swift, 60, who has guided his daughter’s glittering pop career.

A source said: “He likes Harry but he wants them to slow down and take things easy. It’s clear to everyone they are smitten with one another and already talking about marriage. He doesn’t want them to split up as fast as they’ve got together and for Taylor to end up devastated.”

After the chat, Taylor, 23, and Harry, 18, flew to the British Virginia Isles for a romantic break — their third in three months.

The couple were lasted spotted together by fans at dinner on the island Virgin Gorda, where the couple had laid low since flying in on New Years day.

The next day, a somber Taylor was seen alone on a boat at Virgin Gorda's US Customs while Harry partied on Necker Island with friends and family of Island owner Richard Branson.

While Harry has stayed in BVI, Taylor has returned to America and tweeted cryptic lyrics from her song, "I Knew You were Trouble":

Could Haylor really end before it even started or were the odds always against them?
