French gamemaker Ubisoft will also co-produce and take an active hand in the development of the the pic with New Regency, while Fox will handle distribution. Plans are to have a director, script and cast by next summer.

Prior to today, the only thing certain about the planned adaptation of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed was that Michael Fassbender would play the lead. Today, we have a new report from Variety on an important next step in the process as the film finds a co-producer (New Regency) and distributor (20th Century Fox).

"We wanted to do everything we could to secure the rights to 'Assassin's Creed,' which Ubisoft has maintained with such care and quality over the years, said New Regency president and CEO Brad Weston.

Ubisoft reportedly hopes to have the remaining pieces (script, director, full cast, etc.) in place by next summer according to Jean-Julien Baronnet, CEO of Ubisoft Motion Pictures.

Assassin's Creed III, the next installment in the video game franchise drops in US stores on Oct. 30.

Debuting in 2007, the "Assassin's Creed" franchise has sold over 38 million games worldwide and has launched a number of secondary prodcuts such as comicbooks, facebook games, etc.

  • 10/22/12--09:04: Downton Abbey 3x08 Synopsis

  • Queen Mary invites you in!

    Episode: 8 of 8
    Sunday, 4 November 2012, 9:00PM - 10:30PM

There is excitement in the house and village as the annual cricket match approaches, and it brings out Robert’s competitive side. [Oh. We all thought this was going to happen during the Christmas special, but uh, apparently not.]

As Violet’s great niece Rose arrives, a trip to London reveals there is more to her than meets the eye. [Huh. I'm actually intrigued by this bit. Any ideas what this could mean?]

Thomas’s future is in Carson’s hands, but Bates may be an unlikely ally. [I am SO here for the "three valets but only two men who need them" plot. I bet it'll end with Thomas being Matthew's valet and Molesley going back to butler for Mrs. Crawley/]

What secrets are Mary and Matthew holding back from each other? [This makes me really anxious! I bet that Dr. Clarkson has told her that it's unlikely that she'll have children. Or maybe she had a miscarriage and didn't tell anyone? IDK IDK. I DEFINITELY BET IT IS RELATED TO BABIES THOUGH.]

They can say her name—they just can't keep it for themselves.

Beyoncé and hubby Jay-Z have lost their legal bid to trademark their baby daughter Blue Ivy's moniker on account of a Boston-based event planning firm, which has been going by the name Blue Ivy Events since 2009.

The superstar couple filed a trademark application shortly after Blue Ivy's birth in January 2012 reportedly because Beyoncé wanted to put out a line of children's clothing.

However, according to the Boston Herald, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office sent the hip-hop royals a letter turning down their petition to retain "Blue Ivy" for their own business ventures and siding with Blue Ivy Events owner Veronica Alexandra, who was forced to defend her company's good name.

The ruling means Blue Ivy Events can continue to operate under its current designation. But the firm doesn't hold anything against Bey and Jay, posting a photo of the pair on its site with the caption, "Congrats to our SOUL MATE Couple with Baby Blue Ivy!!!"

While they may be disappointed, Beyoncé and Jay-Z can now get back to the business of being first-time parents to Blue Ivy, efforts for which they received the presidential seal of approval after Barack Obama took time out on the campaign trail to offer up some unsolicited advice to the twosome.

"I made sure that Jay-Z was helping Beyoncé out [with the baby], and not leaving it all with Beyoncé and the mother-in-law," the president told Cleveland radio station Z107.9.

Obama also talked about his blossoming friendship with the duo ever since Beyoncé sang at his inauguration.

"They're good people. Beyoncé could not be sweeter to Michelle and the girls. So they're good friends. We talk about the same things I talk about with all my friends," he said.

Beyoncé Knowles and her husband Jay-Z grabbed dinner together in NYC last night. The couple stepped out for an alfresco meal at Gigino Trattoria in the Battery Park neighborhood of Manhattan. They've also logged plenty of time lately over in Brooklyn, where Jay-Z helped open the brand-new Barclays Center with an eight-night string of concerts. For the last show two weeks ago, Beyoncé even joined Jay on stage for a few songs. Now she's looking forward to a solo project — Beyoncé's performing at the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 3.

Another important date for Beyoncé and Jay-Z is Nov. 6, Election Day. Both Jay and Beyoncé have been staunch supporters of President Obama's reelection campaign. In a recent interview, President Obama reflected on his friendship with Beyoncé and Jay-Z. The President said he offered Jay advice after the birth of Blue Carter in January. He said, "I made sure that Jay-Z was helping Beyoncé out [with the baby]. And not leaving it all with mom and the mother-in-law."

It’s no secret that Beyonce and her hubby, Jay-Z, are major supporters of President Barack Obama, (and the First Lady!). Not only did they host an exclusive fundraiser in NYC at the 40/40 Club, but on her latest date night on Oct. 20 in NYC, Beyonce took the opportunity to make a political statement while accessorizing with a statement pair of hoops that said ‘Obama.’ We thought the star looked fantastic — and you’ll be so pleased to know that you can get her look without breaking the bank! Beyonce Knowles-Carter was wearing Erika Pena’s ‘Obama’ earrings, which retail for $28 in silver and $32 in gold! We think it’s so cool that the star took the opportunity to send a message — all while flaunting her stellar style.

I'm annoyed that my Obama LGBT bumper sticker never came in the mail. :[

The Octogenarian and Courtney Stodden's bizarre relationship continues to be dissected on "Couples Therapy." This week, The Octogenarian admitted to his insecurities about dating someone so much younger than him. Particularly because Courtney is still communicating with her ex-boyfriend.

Stodden apparently texts her ex at night when lying in bed with her husband. And considering Stodden's ex is more than 30 years his junior, it's understandable that The Octogenarian is concerned.

Shane asked Courtney, "Is this actually a person you’ve had sexual relations with?" She responded that it "sort of" was, before clarifying that she was still a virgin when she got married to The Octogenarian.

So is he silly to be concerned, or should she cut off her communication? The relationship struggles continue on "Couples Therapy," Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on VH1.

I wonder what her ex looks like. Supposedly he's 21. Obviously he's vastly more attractive than the Creature.

Evan Peters holds his real-life girlfriend Emma Roberts close in this new photo shoot from Tyler Shields.

The 25-year-old American Horror Story: Asylum actor plays a man in love with a blowup doll in the short film that accompanies the shoot.

“Betsy. That’s my girlfriend Betsy. We’ve been going out for about a year and a half now. I guess you can say things have gotten pretty serious,” Evan says while playing the role. “It started as sex, but it moved to a whole other level of connection and meaning. I mean, I’d come home after a really long day at work and you’re just sitting there and like ‘Jesus, I need someone,’ you know? You get really lonely. She fills that.”

Coming down from 2008's astounding self-titled debut, Hercules and Love Affair's low-key second album, last year's Blue Songs, was a bit of a disappointment in its lack of flashiness and memorable hooks. When artists contribute to !K7's DJ-Kicks series, they usually bring along a new tune, and this cut taken from the solid mix made by HaLA's Andy Butler suggests that he might be righting his project's ship, a sensuous mix of click-clacking disco that wouldn't have been out of place on the first LP.

Here's Butler explaining the new cut: "I wrote this song with my friend DJ Whitney Fierce. She is a great dj, and very knowledgable about dance music from many cultures. She also rocks food coloring for hair dye, which makes her very tasty in my book because it makes me think of Mink Stole, a great actress from Baltimore in some of John Water's [sic] films. This song lies somewhere between Stock Aitken and Waterman and Manchester's Hacienda sound, while Whitney sounds very Bananarama on it. Mark Pistel busted out his E- Max on this recording with some original samples he compiled in 91, so that made us all dance in the studio."

    Listen here.

Rihanna has dropped her strongest hint yet of a reconciliation with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, who abused her in 2009, by tweeting that "forgiveness wins".

The 'Diamonds' singer has been spotted getting close to Brown in recent times and the pair are reportedly poised to officially confirm their relationship.

As footage emerged of the alleged couple kissing and cuddling at a Beverly Hills party this weekend, Rihanna uploaded to Instagram a Bible verse saying: "For if you forgive men when they sin against you [their reckless and wilful sins, leaving them, letting them go and giving up resentment], your heavenly Father will also forgive you."

The post continued: "If someone hurts you, pray quickly 'God, I forgive them in Jesus' name'... Do whatever God leads you to do for them, and let God's love work through you to heal the rift between you".

Recently we published in our columns an image from the 2013 calendar of the "Hobbit" Bolg to assess in more detail.
Well, imagine that Pierre-Yves Le Gall, a prominent member of our Facebook page , managed to get your hands on said schedule and sent us high resolution scans of the great Orc.

Note that in addition to his beard, mouth Bolg is stained with dried blood, which suggests that it engages in acts of cannibalism. In contrast, the beard seems to be his own and not a trophy taken from a Dwarf victim of his torture. Too bad because I liked the idea ...
Her green eyes very pale (yellow boundary) bloodshot are enough to make the boldest tremble. I can only imagine the appearance of Azog ...

    To jog your memory
"Swiftly he returned, and his wrath was redoubled, so that nothing could withstand him, and no weapon seemed to bite upon him. He scattered the bodyguard, and pulled down Bolg himself and crushed him."
—The actions of Beorn, in The Clouds Burst, chapter 17 in The Hobbit

He probably looks better in motion because I'm getting Power Rangers vibes right now
