    gender
“I don’t think gender even exists. My sexuality’s very fluid and my gender is very fluid. I don’t think of myself as statically a girl.”

    feminism
“Maybe we all are feminists, but it gives white women especially the idea that if feminism looks accessible in media, then it’s all good and we’re all in the right.”

    black culture
“What would America be like if we loved black people as much as we love black culture?” (The adoption of the hairstyle by non-black pop stars)
“there was this incredible wave on the Internet, and I had the pleasure of being able to be a part of it, which was talking about race, especially for teenagers. I realized, I can actually use this as a tool, as opposed to just coasting and posting pictures of myself and my friends.”

In what is being called an unprecedented move, 100% of the proceeds of 'The Promise', the new film starring Oscar Isaac and Christian Bale about the Armenian Genocide, are being donated to humanitarian charities.

Producers at Survival Pictures and Open Road (who are themselves backing the marketing) have said the goal is to ensure ALL proceeds from the film's theatrical run go to non-profit organisations such as the Elton John AIDS Foundation, the Enough Project, Sentry, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch - charities focused on detailing and investigating human rights abuses, genocide, humanitarian crises related to crimes against humanity etc.

The film cost $100 million, and was independently financed in full by late billionaire and MGM owner Kirk Kerkorian (who donated over $1 Billion in charity to help Armenia) as a lifelong passion project as his parents fled the Ottoman Empire at the start of the genocide; he died a month before production began so didn't get to see it realised.

Kerkorian wanted it to be a "love story, an epic in the same vein as some of the films that he remembered as great films from his era — Lawrence of Arabia, Doctor Zhivago, Casablanca."

It won't be a 'gory blood bath': initially it was rated R, but to get release they made a less violent PG-13 cut.

The director Terry George (pictured with Oscar above) who also made Hotel Rwanda, wants the film to be used for educational purposes as well as entertainment, and shown in schools to educate children about genocide, and that a man or woman no matter how small can "confront and overcome evil and survive and lead a better life for others to follow".

Blake Lively was being honored at Variety's Power of Women Lunch on Friday for her work against child pornography when a reporter decided to ask her about her outfit.

“Are we really doing this? Would you ask a man that?,” Lively told the reporter, according to USA Today’s Maeve McDermott, who posted a video of the end of Lively's response to Twitter. “I'm here so we...become more aware, and that we change, and that we build women up. So, you can ask me another question."

In her speech during the event, Lively stood in front of a screen pinpointing the locations of IP addresses currently viewing child pornography and said "The kids are getting younger and the content is getting more devastating. When a law enforcement officer told me this, I asked, how young are the victims? And he told me infants — and I have a six-month-old daughter."

    • A source closed to the show tells Nerdist.com that Chewing Gum star Michaela Coel is going to be the 13th Doctor Who when the show makes it return.

    • Instead of denying said rumors, the BBC is only stating that 'no casting has taken place for Series 11'.

    • Coel would not only be the first female doctor, but also the first black doctor.

Fall Out Boy posted this video to their Instagram, the caption being the addresses to a number of movie theaters in the Chicago area. If you went to the theaters, the below ad played during the previews. Bascially something (likely a single) is coming out 4/28/17. Given both posts used the word Mania, fans are guessing that's the single name.

The View ends the week talking about the White House visit from Sarah Palin, Ted Nugent, and Kid Rock. They discuss about the photo of the three in front of HRC's photo at the White House.

If you couldn't get enough Sarah Palin, they talk about her appearance on CNN's Jake Tapper. Palin comments how if you're harassed, don't stay. The panel argues that sometimes women don't have a choice because the job could be the only paycheck they get or they fear about job retaliation.

Because the drama between Ann Coulter appearing at UC Berkeley couldn't get more obnoxious. They talk about how UC Berkeley canceled her April 27 appearance due to her safety. They provide a new date which is at May 2 but she won't accept because it's during "dead week" when classes are suspended and students are studying for finals.

Cynthia Nixon joins the panel to talk about her advocacy for public education. She talks about a recent article she wrote about how NY Governor Cuomo is similar to DeVos. Joy wants to know why they want to make America dumb again with how they are handling education. They talk about her appearing with Laura Linney on Little Foxes on Broadway.

According to law enforcement officials directly involved in the Hernandez murder case, deceased victim Odin Lloyd had information the football star did not want out: that he was bisexual. Hernandez’s alleged longtime male lover, was interviewed extensively by authorities after Lloyd’s murder, and was forced to testify in front of a grand jury. Before Hernandez was incarcerated he put money away for his girlfriend, daughter and male lover. It is also reported that one of the suicide notes left by Hernandez was to his prison boyfriend, who is now on 24/7 suicide watch.

In 1998, Rachael Leigh Cook starred in one of those "This is your brain on drugs" PSAs in which she smashed an egg (and an entire kitchen) with a frying pan. Almost 20 years later, she has made a new PSA that uses white and brown eggs to highlight how the war on drugs has unfairly targeted minorities and ruined lives.

    Her original '90s PSA:

DNCE was on the Temple campus to perform at the school's annual OWLCHELLA spring concert later that day. No one in the class knew who they were; and no one in the class was attending the concert. DNCE still had fun poking fun of themselves.

At the show, the band performed their new single, KIssing Strangers, for the first time live.

    • Casting for Theseus is currently underway; actor Callum Turner (Green Room, Tramps, Assassin's Creed) is in talks to play the role.

    • Jude Law was recently confirmed to play young Dumbledore (meaning when he was still a Transfiguration professor, decades before he became Headmaster).

    • The movie is slated to release in November 2018; the filming begins this summer.

OP is still upset that Colin Farrell will not be in the next movie.
