Kirsten Dunst & Colin Farrell Open Up About Their Sex Scene in The Beguiled

Sofia Coppola's "The Beguiled" will be in theaters on June 30.

Dunst :
"I am on the floor and my clothes are being ripped. I don't like it, I don't like it. To be honest, I'm like, 'Let's get this over with as fast as possible.'"
"Male directors want to shoot it from every angle. At least Sofia's like, 'We're going to get this done quick, we're just gonna shoot it here, we'll do three takes, be done.'"

Farrell :
"It's harder for women. And women have in the history of cinema...been more exploited of course, through the means of sexuality, by men than men have. So, it's situations like that, any love scenes that I've been a party to over the years, you just [do] whatever your female dance partner needs."
"I really think a woman should be the boss completely in those scenes, whatever she needs to make her comfortable and allow her to have the freedom to do the job she needs to do."

Alec Baldwin is now feuding with Harper Collins, wants to clarify he is not in love with Tina Fey

$

After claiming in his memoir that he was shocked to find out that Nikki Reed was 17 when they were filming sex scenes together (she was actually 16) and then feuding with the producers who said he knew what was going on, Baldwin has moved on to a new target. He's now saying that Harper Collins did a bad job editing the book which is filled with "typos and errors".

He released this statement via Facebook:

Also, the published edition contains SEVERAL typos and errors which I was more than a little surprised to see. The editors at Harper Collins were, I imagine, too busy to do a proper and forensic edit of the material. Therefore, the first posting here, in the coming weeks, will be an index of corrections and amendments to the text in order to bring it more in line with my original intent.

After I post those corrections, I will offer essays on film, politics, actors/actresses and anything else that I did not address in the original book. Maybe even entire chapters that did not reveal themselves earlier on.

Also, I will post several more photographs from my collection. The book does appear to be a bit lean in that department!

Now, my first correction/amendment:

When I write that I am "in love" with Megan Mulalley or Kate McKinnon or Tina Fey, I mean that I am in love with their talent. As a happily married man who wants to stay that way (ahem), I wanted to clarify that.

Many thanks,

Alec

Today's hosts: Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Jedediah Bila and Paula Faris
Today's 🔥 topics:
The View kicks off this Friday by talking about the biggest hot topic of the past 24 hours. The panel brings on ABC News' Brian Ross to talk about 45's missile attack on a Syrian airfield. Brian Ross says that we have to look at the long term goals not the tactics or strategy in the short term. Paula asks about Russia and brings up Rex Tillerson's comments which is "either Russia has been complicit or Russia has been simply incompetent". Ross responds that he's going against Russia in a sense with this missile attack. Joy says how the fuck can we believe him if he's under investigation about Russia. Ross' time on the panel concludes with the talking point of the feud between Bannon v. Kushner.

The panel gets heated when they discuss if the military strike on the Syrian airfield was a good decision by 45. Jed was very proud that 45 went beyond Obama's redline and did had done this. Sunny argues about the law and that he needed Congress' approval.

Oscar winner engages in heated debate about a lack of black women in his new Sky series

John Ridley (12 Years A Slave) faced some tough audience questioning at last night’s premiere of his new Sky Atlantic series Guerrilla (premieres April 16 on Showtime)

Indian actress Freida Pinto stars as Jas Mitra, an Asian woman at the centre of the conflict who drives much of the narrative.

the only prominent black female character in episode one is an informer against the movement for a racist, white police officer.

Journalist
“My parents were a part of that movement [black power]. I want to understand why you decided [to make] an Asian woman the main protagonist.”
“I understand the contribution of Asians to this, but having an Asian protagonist making all the big decisions… does that get explained in subsequent episodes? We can’t ignore that,”

Ridley
“To me, everything that you’re saying is exactly why that decision is so important. The fact that it’s difficult to accept someone, even though they are of colour, of being with us…”

Journalist
“I don’t find it difficult to accept, I’m just trying to understand,”

Ridley
“If everybody understood racism, oppression… there would be no reason to be doing this show. We would be doing Dancing With The Stars,”
“If there are things that are difficult to understand, accept, rationalise, despite the fact that if you understand the struggles of that time period… those elements are not made up, those are real,”
“If there are any aspects of my show that are difficult to understand or accept, I feel I have done my job. It is an incredibly valid question, but please accept that my answer is equally as valid.”

Journalist
“I’m not sure you quite answered the question - why are there no black women at the forefront of the struggle? That doesn’t necessarily accurately reflect what happened in the 70s in the UK.”

Babou Cesay(one of the male leads)
“Wow, really? You know this because you read about it?”

Journalist
“No, we know this because our parents were a part of it,”
“the erasure of black women”

Ridley
“I said previously, I think the characters in this story are complicated across the board, so the concept that any one person is somehow better, or more elevated, or more appropriate than any other individual, I’m sorry, I don’t accept that."
“I don’t want to make this overly personal, but part of why I chose to have a mixed race couple at the centre of this is that I’m in a mixed race relationship. The things that are being said here, and how we are often received, is very equivalent to what’s going on right now [in the wider world]. My wife is a fighter, my wife is an activist, and yet because our races our different there are a lot of things we have to still put up with.”
“This is one of the proudest moments of my entire life. This cast, this crew, the people involved in this show are the most reflective cast and crew that you will find anywhere. I’m sorry I cannot entertain a dialogue about whether the lead character in this show should be black or Asian – the lead character in this show should be a strong woman of colour,”

Neil Kenlock (photographer)
“I am probably the only person [here] that was in the Black Panthers, and what John [Ridley] did was exactly spot on. We had an Asian woman, and she was extremely active, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with what I’ve seen today.”

Pinto(at the premiere, not during the Q&A)
“What I understood after speaking to John [Ridley] was that black was not just the colour of the skin. It was political blackness, the oppressors and the oppressed, they were from former colonies and India was one of them."
“When we talk about diversity, not just here but in America, I find it non-inclusive when we don’t talk about the other people from other parts of the world, including the Asian population,”

After three years together, the two have reportedly ended their relationship.

According to sources, it was amicable, and they're still going to try and be friends who wish nothing but the best for each other.

And of course Packers fans somehow think this will magically refocus him and allow the team to win the Super Bowl this year. Or that this will make him worse.
