Next Wednesday, February 15th, will mark the 3rd anniversary of fitness guru Richard Simmons' sudden disappearance from public life (he failed to show up to teach a weekly exercise class on February 15, 2014, and has never been seen in public again, abruptly cutting off communication with nearly everyone in his life from friends to employees).

Dan Taberski, a former Daily Show with Jon Stewart producer and onetime friend of Simmons who hasn't been able to reach him since that day, will debut a new podcast called Missing Richard Simmons on the anniversary. The podcast will both probe the mystery of his disappearance and look at the "thousands and thousands" of lives Simmons saved through his 40 years of workout classes, videos, healthy cookbooks and his daily personal phone calls and emails to people struggling to lose weight.

Taberski was in the middle of making a documentary with and about the once-gregarious Simmons when he was abruptly unable to reach him in 2014. Although there have been rumors that Richard is either being virtually held hostage by his longtime housekeeper or else is transitioning to female, Simmons called into the Today show last year to deny both of those stories, claiming that he simply wanted to "be a bit of a loner".

As for what he’s uncovered in his search for Simmons thus far, Taberski says he’s been “very surprised” at some of his findings but doesn’t want to give them away just yet. “I have a main working theory that I’ll explain in the podcast but I don’t want to say what it is yet. But there’s a lot of theories out there and I think they are all just starting points.

"I’m not trying to drag him out – if he wants to retire, god bless him. If anyone deserves retirement and the gold watch and the whole shebang, it’s him. He’s lived an interesting, amazing life, and it’s been fascinating to uncover just how complicated a guy he is. This podcast is a personal project for me, because I think he’s a superhero. He deserves all the respect and love and friendship in the world. I want him to know that, and I want him to know that we all know that, and I want everybody to know that.”

Missing Richard Simmons will be available for free streaming from launch partner Stitcher, as well as iTunes, Google Play and Spotify.

Basically a continuation of THIS post.

These movies once had Oscars buzz, but you won't be seeing them at this years Oscars. Lmao, SAD!

    The Light Between Oceans

This movie highlighted Fassbender's wrinkles and made it look like he was dating a 16 year old. Alicia Vikander, sis, you can do better.

    Live By Night

Ben Affleck marathoned Boardwalk Empire and then tried to cram an entire series into a 2 hour movie.

    The Girl on the Train

It's fucking offensive that Emily Blunt got a fucking BAFTA/SAG nom for this shit.

    Passengers

I don't even know how to describe the premise of this movie. It's fucked ya'll.

    Rules Don't Apply

Stars GOLDEN GLOBE NOMINEE Lily Collins (HFPA are really big Phil Collins fans, I guess) and that one dude who is gonna be in Star Wars. Apparently Warren Beatty had been wanting to make this film for decades, homeboy should've waited a couple decades more and actually written a good movie.

    Café Society

Nothing interests the public more than seeing Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg act alongside each other, previous times have worked out so well.

    Hail, Caesar!

People are lying to you when they say Channing Tatum's dance scene is the best thing about the movie. This movie has nothing to offer.

    Money Monster

Was basically Jim Cramer (the dude who screams on CNBC) getting held hostage for giving bad advice.

    Collateral Beauty

There were so many hilarious reviews of this movie.

    Allied

Paramount started doing promo for this movie the day it was announced that Pitt and Jolie were getting a divorce and that Marion and Brad may have had an affair. Paramount being messy bitches was the only good thing about this movie. Brad's obvious face work was also mad distracting throughout.

    Snowden

I've tried to watch this movie multiple times and I fall asleep everytime.

    Miss Sloane

DIDN'T DESERVE TO FLOP. FUCK THE GUN LOVERS OF AMERICA!

Now that Chris (Daniel Kaluuya, Sicario) and his girlfriend, Rose (Allison Williams, Girls), have reached the meet-the-parents milestone of dating, she invites him for a weekend getaway upstate with Missy (Catherine Keener, Captain Phillips) and Dean (Bradley Whitford, The Cabin in the Woods).

At first, Chris reads the family’s overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter’s interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he could have never imagined.

In resposne to controversy at them taking a role in nazi romance movie 'Where Hands Touch', where she plays a mixed race german girl who falls in love with a nazi (but 1 of the ~good ones!)
Amandla posted this on their tumblr, she also reblogged a pic of director Amma Asante's response to criticism(below):

    Transcript(bolding mine):
Oversimplifying, assuming, and jumping to conclusions with little to no actual basis or information is doing y'all no favors. Righteous problematic labeling contributes nothing to the world and stifles conversations instead of promoting dialogue. How are we supposed to perpetuate change and defend identity - especially when it is needed so badly in today’s political climate - if we are more concerned with declaring our judgements of others in order to affirm our own righteousness? If we are forming our opinions off of rumor, heresay, and perhaps most alarmingly, agreeing with others just to agree and feel a false sense of virtue and satisfaction?
In my eyes, the fundamental values of activism are individual thought and in depth analysis. It strikes me as ironic that those who supposedly lead their lives with these values in their hearts are the same to blindly follow like sheep and make hollow preemptive conclusions.
Y'all, I’m out here trying to do the work. I’m not your target. The world is much larger than this bubble. If you jump to conclusions and make generalizations about others out of fear, you are doing the same thing as the people you claim to morally oppose.

    Caption(bollding mine):
UPDATE: So many of you have had questions and concerns about this First Look image so I want assure you that this film does not romanticize Nazis in any way. My full quote with the image clarifies that my passion has been to shine a light on the existence of the children of color who were born and raised under Hitler. These children were also persecuted and my wish has been to explore how black and bi-racial German identity was perceived and experienced under Nazi fascist rule. This girl's experience sits along side the Jewish experience and the experience of others who were persecuted. It looks at how Germany became Nazi Germany and slept walked itself into a disgusting and murderous state that resulted in it killing it's own people and those of other countries. Leyna's story (Amandla Stenberg) sits in this sad and terrifying context. My reasons for making this film sit around my concerns of the current climate but also a continued and growing intolerance of racial and religious difference that we have all sensed for many years and which is becoming even worse now. As a filmmaker my wish is center on bringing attention to this through my work. Amandla and i teamed together to shine a light on the hatred that Nazi Germany visited on Europe and to make a film that might contribute to the dialogue of how we fight this horrific racial and religious ignorance today along with the intolerances visited on the many other marginalized groups and intersections. With only a few lines and one image ever offered to a filmmaker to comment on a First Look image release, and with the lead character in this film embarking on such a large rites of passage story, it's difficult to summarize all the things one might want to about a film in a brief article. Amandla's role in this film brings attention to an as yet untold story in the arena of drama cinema, to the existence of the other 'others' who suffered during the holocaust. This does not mean that the Jewish experience is not also key to our story. It is. I hope that this at least clarifies some of your concerns. I have all the...(cont'd in following comment)

    Following comment:
I have all the respect in the world for the people who have enjoyed my films thus far as i would never make a movie that glorifies glamorized or romanticized hatred in any way. On the contrary, i want to explore the voices and experiences of the marginalized. By exploring the experiences of yesterday, we can hopefully be better prepared when ugliness and hatred heads our way, today. Sending you all love and light

a summary for those to lazy to read the whole thing: labeling racism ‘problematic’ is bad bc u dont understand the real context of my nazi romance movie, stop judging ppl online n go help in the real world, ppl calling me racist dont rlly care abt racism, by starring in a nazi romance movie im actually furthering the conversation on racism + if u call out someone for being racist or 'problematic' then ur the same as those racists.

anyway amandla was bound to make mistakes sooner or later, no celeb is unproblematic, especially dont idolisea kid is bc theyre perfectly woke, theyre gonna have dumbass beliefs.

Adelaide answered some fan questions in a Q&A session with Facebook Live to promote the season premiere of Reign's final season. A few of the answers below the cut!

    - Talks about her cat Ranma being fine with pets visiting but when she tried fostering a second cat Ranma wasn't a fan and the foster cat was re-homed.

    - At the moment her work life is more important to her than her love life. That'll probably change when she's older but currently wants to focus on working and traveling more.

    - Biggest similarity between her and Mary is that they're both stubborn and love their friends. Jokes about both of them not being good at choosing the best men to share their lives with.

    - Biggest difference between her and Mary is that she doesn't rule a country, only her apartment and sometimes her cat.

    - Ireland was her fave shooting location. The Ashford castle is beautiful.

    - Says Reign changed everything in her life. She was employed for 4 years, got to live in Toronto, made amazing friends, was able to buy her first house, adopted a cat that will be her lover for the next 20 years.

    - Has a Facebook fan account, doesn't have a personal one bc people were reaching out to her family and she wasn't comfortable with that.

    - If she could say one thing to Frary fans it would be that their love is eternal and you'll see glimpses of that in season 4.

    - Had wanted to cut her hair for a long time, says it's easy to mantain bc she doesn't have to wash it often or do anything to it and it was a good thing after years of heat styling on the show.

    - Her most memorable experience on Reign was learning how to ride horses.

    - Creeps on her fans on Tumblr so she saw them fancasting her as Lyanna Stark. Would have considered auditioning for it but was shooting Reign at the time.

David Morrisey was asked what would happen if the Governor were to face Negan.

“I don't think there's a world where Negan and The Governor can exist together. I think they would have to take each other on, and you know, it's obvious that there would be one winner in that, and that would be The Governor. I don't think there's any sane person that would argue against that. The Governor is the ultimate villain in the show and there's been people that have come in and have sort of pretended to be like him, but no one's ever going to take that crown. And I think Negan certainly isn't going to take it. He's bad, but no one was like The Governor.”

Jeffrey Dean Morgan was previously asked and responded with, “I mean, I love David Morrissey, but he wouldn’t stand a chance. Wouldn’t stand a chance. I’d put Negan up against anybody. He’s super smart and there’s no filter, no fear. The Governor was a little bit wack. Negan’s got it together. It wouldn’t even be close. And I’m sorry, ‘cause I really love David. He’s awesome. I worked with him for a year and there’s just not a better guy. But Negan versus the Governor wouldn’t be close.”
