Five (Two) reasons you need to play 'Overwatch'

-Kills matter less: With basically the overwhelming majority of every other online multiplayer game out there focusing on kill points determines how you rank in the game but with Overwatch it is a different story. The focus of each match is different from escorting payloads to defending checkpoints, of course since this is a shooter you can still kill one another but instead it records kills as "eliminations" so if you contributed to a character's death they'll credit you, not just the sole person who did the finishing shot.

-The cast of characters: There are four class types: Offense, Defense, Support and Tanks and from these classes you get a diverse set of characters that are all distinct from one another both gameplay and personality wise like Mercy's flight plus healing and Tracer's "rewind" skill.

Linford Martin from Channel 4's First Dates: "Promiscuous gay guys give our community a bad name"

Linford Martin appeared on Channel 4's "First Dates" where he went on a blind date. Although Linford didn't hit it off with his date, he ended up finding the man of his dreams after his appearance on the show. Linford finds it troubling how the majority of the gay community ignores monogamy, using apps like Grindr and Tinder, which he says encourage men to stray and have helped to kill the art of chivalry. He says that although him and his boyfriend are public with their relationship on social media, guys will still message both of them wanting to hook up, totally disregarding the fact that they are monogamous. He finds it unfair that even after the gay community has made so many strides forward in terms of social acceptance, people still view gay men as being wildly promiscuous, since him and his boyfriend are not like that.

Pottermore Posts 30-Second Interviews "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" Actors

Pottermore has been posting new videos on YouTube all week getting ready for "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" preview week. Earlier today, Pottermore posted 30-second clips with the three actors that play Harry, Ron and Hermione.

They all sound very excited for the upcoming show and made me even more pumped (even though, let's be honest, it will be forever before it comes to the U.S.)

I'm kind of in love with Paul Thornley's low voice. Jamie Parker looks eerily like a grown-up Daniel Radcliffe. Noma Dumezweni sounds like she's geeking out herself over being in the play.

I have really high hopes. Please don't let me down!

Cyndi Lauper, Harvey Fierstein, and the Cast of Kinky Boots Have a Message for Gov. McCrory

Harvey Fierstein released the following statement via Playbill:

So, you don’t like transgender people? Have the balls to honestly say it. Today’s bathroom controversy is fueled by the same bigots that sought to ban gay and lesbian teachers forty years ago. All these years later they’re still hiding behind the claim that they’re only protecting their children. These discussions are great opportunities to educate and strengthen the bonds that make us all one human family. But when I see discussions on social media proposing a men’s room for adult males, a ladies’ room for adult females, a little girls’ room for little girls, a little boy’s room for little boys and then another pair of bathrooms for little boys with a parent and little girls with a parent… Well, it’s time to take a step back and laugh at our own absurdity. This video is a reminder that sometimes we go to the bathroom just to pee.

Tomorrow, Cyndi Lauper plays Raleigh. The proceeds from the concert will be donated to EqualityNC, who are leading the effort to overturn HB2. Her rider also demanded a gender neutral bathroom on the premises of the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts.

- Moffat admits that they needed to do better on diversity, but claims that their guest actresses is the most diverse on television, but feels that "he could have done better overall"
- It may have been Paterson Joseph, who audtioned for the role in 2008.

james franco's favorite books

franco shares the 10 books he’d take with him if he were stuck on a desert island.

“blood meridian,” cormac mccarthy

this is the western to end all westerns. its rich tableaux of the borderlands mixed with unrelenting violence creates an inimitable portrait of our country’s history.

“donkey gospel,” tony hoagland

a self-proclaimed postmodern confessionalist poet, hoagland’s poems gather and distribute so much energy it’s like he’s a boxer — or a wrestler — rather than a writer.

“what we talk about when we talk about love,” raymond carver

the master of short minimalist fiction, carver destroys the heart with economic prose like no other.

“the sellout,” paul beatty

this book killed me. funny, poignant, outrageous and deep as hell. bettany talks about all the hard stuff of race with great skill and humor.

“the long home,” william gay

gay is an unabashed disciple of cormac mccarthy, and this is the first book by him, a reclusive man who had old tennessee pumping in his veins. youth versus experience, love versus hate, this is a distinctly southern tale of a honkey tonk, murder, young lovers and retribution.

Plus size model Ashley Graham will be a backstage host at tomorrow's Miss USA 2016 competition, and she spoke about what that means in a new interview.

Ashley-Graham

"The fact that they've asked me to come and speak backstage means that there is more feeling of diversity of beauty.I'm really excited about the fact that they're so open to the inclusion of so many different types of beauty, because for so long [America] has been going one way - America has finally caught on.", adding "I think by having me host backstage it's opened up this door and this question of 'well, why haven't we had anybody? What is stopping us from having a very curvaceous woman come in and win Miss USA or even be a contestant?'"

She also said that she hopes Miss USA organizers are thinking about including plus sized women in their competition in the future, and that her presence at the event means there's a good chance things will begin to shift in that direction.
