The Flash 2x22 Invincible: Official Episode Description & Promo Pics

In the official episode description for next week, beloved & dearly departed Arrow import Dinah Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) returns, but wearing way more black lipstick and even better pleather threads.

SERIOUSLY. Check out the fierce/fresh/flawless Earth-2 Queen Meta promo pics below. Caitlin Snow HEW?!

After Zoom Joom (Teddy Sears) unleashes his army of E2 metas on Central City, Barry gets shaken up when he sees that they are led by none other than BLACK SIREN, Earth-2's Laurel Lance. Which of course makes plenty of sense since the show hasn't established that they know that Laurel is even dead yet.
Meanwhile, Joe is stressing because Wally is taking the streets to be the Central City Vigilante and help the Flash.
Iris and Henry are stressing too about Barry taking on Zoom, but mostly because Iris knows that really she's the only one with a hope in hell of stopping him, and is the hero we all deserve.

Jesse Warn directs, with story by Greg Berlanti & Andrew Kreisberg.
    Original airdate 5/17/2016.

Queen Candice Patton Talks Female Characters, and Iris' Development...

Guest Director Kevin Smith on What He Learned on Set...
Kevin talks about his time directing 2x20 The Runaway Dinosaur, and why his time on the show was his fave ever. Much like this cast and crew are his faves ever.
Also talks about Arrow, and what he'd like to do on that (write), considering he wrote some critically acclaimed runs of the comics in the early 2000s.

Also... what to expect from the LAST TWO EPISODES of the season!

-His favourite episode ever was the Season 1 finale.
-He views the script (by Zack Stentz) as the "spiritual sequel [...] it was a gift [...] you put them side by side like bookends" to the S1 finale.
-Describes scenes with Nora Allen (Michelle Harrison) as, from a fan perspective, "like porn for a Flash fan, it's the best stuff in the show. Heart of the show, soul of the show, meat of the show is about a boy who lost his mom."

-He admits that despite working for 22 years in showbiz, he'd never really gone behind the scenes with special effects to see how it all worked which he had a chance to on this thanks to special effects guidance from Armen Kevorkian, the visual effects supervisor who also directed the previous episode - even though his own ep was light on special effects.

-Believes he became a better director working on the show, focused on just directing and asking the cast and crew how they did things every week - thereby learnt a lot. It was "my favourite thing i've ever directed [...] I'd do this every damn day if I could."
-Greg Berlanti heard great things about him from the production team, so Berlanti emailed him:
"Any show you want to come play in, you’re welcome here; consider this a second home".
-Kevin puts it down to the crew, and asked Berlanti that it was the same crew next time when he shoots in season 3, as he credits THEM with the episode and not himself - "they made the show what it is."

    On to Arrow...

-Kevin wouldn't want to write for Flash because he loved just directing, but WOULD like to write for Arrow (and give it some good ratings for once - according to this OP who EXPOSED Arrow in a previous post).
-He already wrote two 'critically acclaimed' comic runs for it - 'Quiver' and 'The Sounds of Violence', introducing and creating iconic villain Onomatopoeia.
-He wants to develop a live-action version of Onomatopoeia for Arrow.

On the run up to the Finale...
-Calls 'The Runaway Dinosaur', "the calm before the storm."
-Says about the tail end of 2x22 "jaw-droppingly huge in the world of 'Flash, it’s massive."

Live + Same Day Ratings for 2x21 'The Runaway Dinosaur.
Pleased to report in that ratings this week have a small uptick, and generally hold steady in the key demographic, with a rating of 1.3 amongst adults 18-49, and 3.48 million viewers.
Comparatively, last week's episode was also 1.3 amongst the 18-49 demographic, with 3.34 million viewers.

This Week On: 'The Flash Cast Doing Stuff & Things On Social Media'...
Not much at all has really happened this week in the lives of the Flash cast.
No new Candice pics, Danielle is already in London on vacation going to museums and things before the City of Heroes 2 convention this weekend. Tom has been posting ~artsy things and is also travelling to the UK. Keiynan has had some other filming, and will be making his way to the con imminently. And Katie Cassidy also just arrived in London.

teddysears One of my all time favorites @thatkevinsmith directed tonight's superb episode of The Flash. And then we went on his podcast 'Fat Man on Batman' to talk about it. It's an easy listen and goes by faster than Walt Flanagan's dog. And yeah that's a Ron Swanson hockey jersey. Enjoy!

keiynanlonsdale You won't see us playing cards but we'll do other cool things tonight on an all new episode of @cwtheflash. It was directed by @thatkevinsmith & it's going to be a goodie.

grantgust Being trapped in the speed force, or whatever else they decide to put on this green screen can make ya sweaty. Sweating in leather can make ya stinky. Wearing the same leather suit every day and sweating your ass off consistently can result in a terrible stench. I'm sorry @bettydubney. Thanks for taking care of me, my dogs and my suit. Don't miss Flash tonight where you can find out what they put on this green screen.

grantgust New episode of @cwtheflash tonight directed by @thatkevinsmith. Someone just told me "nice Flash hat". 😏

Off to the Flash/Arrow Con for the weekend, Flash Fam! Unfortunately no Queen Candice, and Carlos had to cancel, but I shall tell my boo TomCav, Katie and Keiynan how much you all love them ❤
(And none for Danielle or the entire rest of the Arrow cast ty!)
If I don't make it home in time for dinner/next week's Flash posts... I have been trampled and eaten alive by 2000 Olicity stans.

James will be the primary writer. Sutter stated:
"I wanted to find a strong, unique Latino voice," said Sutter of James in a statement, "Because I didn’t think a white guy from Jersey should be writing about Latin culture and traditions. Elgin is that voice."

On working with other artists and The Killers:
I’m lucky that I get to work with the artists I do. I was involved in the Adele’s latest project off and on for two years. I’ve been involved with U2, and I did some stuff with The Killers in the last six months, and Grace Mitchell, this new artist from Portland, Oregon, is kind of blowing my mind right now. I have a conversation going with The Chainsmokers about collaborating, so all these songs that I’ve done with these artists, they play a role. I did some stuff with Ed Sheeran for his next album that plays a role. If you’re in the room with him for three days… He reminded me that it’s lyrics above all – you can have a great melody, you can have a great song, but those lyrics have to hit you in the gut, they have to be the most real, human, visceral thing. To go from Ed to Brandon Flowers in the same week, you get two completely different apertures.

Full interview with Ry at the source.

13 yrs together and counting while your fave band disbanded or only has one sole member left...slay.

ONTD, what's your favorite song by The Killers?

I was going to use a gif of Woody Allen, but who wants to look at that creep? Anyways, that's Laurent Lafitte, a French actor, comedian and the host of Cannes Film Festival's opening and closing ceremonies. While MCing the opening ceremonies, Lafitte went in on Woody Allen, saying to the accused child rapist, "You've shot so many of your films here in Europe, and yet in the U.S., you haven't even been convicted of rape!" (It's a reference to Roman Polanski, who faces rape charges in the US, and thus shoots all his movies in Europe.) Gasps ensued from the stunned crowd of sycophants and shitheels. Other publications, such as banned source Deadline, even condemned Lafitte's comments for insulting Woody Allen. Fuck those people, and allez Lafitte!

Admit it! Despite being a Grown Woman.wav with an impressively bushy beard and sculpted chest you've kind of always wanted to treat chart-topper Drake like a baby. At least according to sites like @BannedSource, @BannedSource, and of course @BannedSource. (Literally what?)

The Meme King has teamed up with Saturday Night Live cast member Leslie Jones for a few promo spots for their upcoming episode. In the spots, Jones threatens to spank, cuddle, and bounce Drake on her lap like a bb. No word on whether or not Champagne Papi is into that. Drake serves as host and musical guest on May 14, 2016!

In addition to dethroning Beyoncé's album from the top spot on the Billboard 200, Drizzy has also launched his own 'Views'-inspired Jordans! The kicks are currently going for $600+ at Flight Club.

The gay icon's new pal Carmen Carrera reached out to Out magazine to congratulate their latest cover boy. Someone who’s willing to come out and say that he supports the entire LGBT community and embraces fans from all walks of life.

    - On May 24 Linden Vey's (RW for the Vancouver Canucks) father Curtis Vey will go on trial along with co-accused Angela Nicholson, the two were having an affair and planned to murder their spouses.
    - Police alleged the plan was to kill Curtis's wife, Brigitte, in a house fire, while Jim Taylor, Nicholson's husband, was going to die of a drug overdose.
    - Taylor told Postmedia News that Curtis was their financial adviser and co-signed cheques. Taylor revealed he had been estranged from his wife when the alleged plot took shape.
    - "My mother and I are super close," Vey said. "She came on the mothers' trip with me and she comes out quite a bit. My family — my brother and my sister — we're all tight. This is a time where we need to stick together as much as possible now. As much as it is me involved, it's more about my parents' situation, I will be there to support my mother. Our family is going to do its best to find its way through it."

Robert Downey Jr. was asked on the 'Howard Stern Show' who Iron Man would support for president. Downey responded that "I believe Tony [Stark], being a budding feminist, he would say it's time to have some feminine energy in the White House." Stern pressed if this meant that Stark would endorse Hillary Clinton and Downey Jr. clarified that it does.

In response to who he thinks Captain America would endorse: "If you go along with his points of view in the movie, he would back up whoever was for accountability. It's a great year, I tell you."

    RDJ discusses Rami + Mr. Robot on an interview for GQ;

What do you watch on them?
Well, last night, I watched the conclusion of The People v. O.J. Simpson. Previous to that, I doubled back and finished up season four of House of Cards. Maybe the best season yet. I am frothing at the thumb controls for the second season of Mr. Robot, which is probably the best thing that's been on TV or theater for five years. I am hopelessly strung out on what used to be the Military History channel—and then they changed channel 287 on DirecTV to the American Heroes channel—because I love military history.

    What about actors?
Um…Rami Malek. He's the one right now. Everybody else should be studying this guy.

BONUS: POTUS makes an appearance/video for Mr. Robot season 2, addresses Tyrell Willick + F Society and the ending of season 1

how are you celebrating this national holiday, ONTD?

We know that Lively had a problem with the joke about Allen at Cannes, but she has gone on to reiterate she hasn't read Farrow's piece, and actually, Woody Allen is empowering to women:

"It's amazing what Woody has written for women. It's very dangerous to factor in things you don't know anything about. I could [only] know my experience. And my experience with Woody is he's empowering to women."
