    Coldplay (feat. Beyoncé) just released their latest MV, for the song Hymn for the Weekend. The video was shot in Mumbai, India, last October.

    There was a big deal in Indian media over an appearance by Bollywood A-lister Sonam Kapoor in the video, but it turns out she's in it for a total of 2 seconds (3:36-3:37). Now she's getting dragged ("I guess the director agrees with us about Sonam's acting skills", says DNA India). The broadsheet did not have a kind view of the MV overall or Beyoncé's part in it:

    The video’s visuals are reminiscent of the West's myopic view of India where poverty meets mysticism in Bollywood along with a mishmash of colours. Not that we had high hopes of that they would truly capturing the ethos of a different land. [...]

    The video sees Chris do random desi stuff like travelling in a black and yellow taxi (getting overcharged, we assume) and playing instruments, while people around him play Holi. Beyonce is there playing a character called Rani who we assume is a film star (USA Today called her an earth goddess), but actually looks like Xerxes’ long lost sister with all the jewellery on her face reminiscent of Frank Miller’s 300.

    Cam Newton, bae QB for the Carolina Panthers, recently (accurately) stated that part of the reason he is so heavily criticized for his celebrations and jovial attitude is the fact that he's black and there's currently no black quarterback of his caliber to compare him to: " His celebrations and success have led to a TON of racist criticism and criticism that is thiny veiled racism. People have called him classless and cocky, depsite the fact that white quarterbacks and players get away with the same things.

    In other news, both the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos will pay for all their employees, including interns to go to the game.


    In BRONCOS news, Levi's Stadium Field Crews messed up and painted both endzones as Broncos endzones. You can see it in this pic:




    In can't-believe-his-luck news, a fan who watched the AFC championship from the stands was signed to the Broncos practice squad the day after the game and will get to go to the Super Bowl! Nick Kasa, who played Tight End for the Colorado Buffaloes and played one year for the Oakland Raiders, will practice with the Broncos because he's the exact size of Carolina tight end Greg Olsen. He will get to attend the Super Bowl but will not play. He wasn't signed to any team this season.


    Remaining completely salty after their loss to the Broncos, none of the Patriots selections will attend the pro bowl in Hawaii. Though some are listed as injured, Stephen Gostkowski, who missed an extra point is too sad over the loss to attend. Chandler Jones is probably not attending because of his involvement with police earlier this month and his desire to eschew media scrutiny about it.
