Who went home this week on 'So You Think You Can Dance?'

Warning: the new format of the show sucks

The night began with a group performance to Marilyn Manson's "Beautiful People" choreographed by NappyTabs. It was cool and creepy. (Cyrus needs to learn how to count, especially if he's going to be a focal point tho.)

The routine was a Chris Scott "hip-hop" routine danced by Cole and Lindsay. I wasn't a fan. The concept kind of disturbed me.

Next was a gorgeous Sonya Tayeh routine danced by Amelia and Will. Usually I feel like Sonya's work is overhyped, but I really liked this. Will and Amelia have a great partnership.

Amber and Nick danced a hot tango routine. I'm obsessed with Amber now, her legs are sick. Not much to say about Nick tho :-/

Another Sonya Tayeh routine was next. Audrey and Matthew (faux-Ryan Gosling) did a great job but it didn't stand out to me as much as the first one did.

Next was an adorable Chris Scott lyrical hip-hop routine performed by Janelle and Dareian. I thought it was cute and perfect. The judges were hatin.

Then, Brandon and Janaya danced a Sean Cheesman Broadway routine. Janaya was reading 50 Shades of Grey and things got "cray." I was very proud of this couple. They definitely stepped it up from last week.

Cyrus and Eliana danced a jive. Eliana looked flaw free as always, but I want a little bit more from Cyrus... especially since he's a fan favorite.

Alexa and Daniel danced in a bathtub in a contemporary routine by Dee Caspary. The two lack so much chemistry... I wasn't really into this performance. I understand that there was a lot of technical strength, but it just felt like something was missing to me. I didn't connect with it.

Then, Tiffany and George did a foxtrot. It looked clean and nice to me... idk. George is really qt.

Last routine of the night was a Bollywood routine by Chehon and Witney. Vast improvement from last week, Chehon actually emoted!

Then Nigel announced the bottom six:

Nigel then explained how this season is all about "saving people" and no one is voted out, yada yada. Basically, after conversing with the choreographers from last week and this week, the judges decided to save Chehon and Witney. Bye Alexa, Janaya, Daniel, and Nick. It's been real.

Rare published photo of Robert Pattinson

I found this picture way back in 2008 when the first Twilight film was about to be released, but I never thought about posting it here until now. In 2006, Nylon magazine published a book called NYLON STREET which features photos of fashionably trendy strangers from all across the globe, and apparently, Robert's sense of style caught the eyes of nylon.

The text in the top left reads:

ROB, 19
OCCUPATION: actor
I'M WEARING: the only things I've got
MY FASHION ICON IS:James Dean

As I said, the book was published in 2006, and I know The Goblet of Fire was released in 2005. So I'm gonna guess that this photo was taken sometime between the filming and release of TGoF.

Edit: I'm sorry you guys don't like my very first post :(

Willam Shames Chick-fil-A Yet Again

0
0

Chick-fil-A is at it again, this time with the company’s president Dan Cathy commenting on reports that claimed the company donated over $2 million to anti-gay groups. And, well, he sure isn’t denying it, and in fact seems to be proud of the company’s homophobic stance.

“Well, guilty as charged,” he says. “We are very much supportive of the family — the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that. ”

So, to get the best and most qualified response about these comments from the gay community, we again went to Chick-fil-A connoisseur Willam Belli. Willam, what say you?

Dan Cathy’s statements give me Asperger’s Syndrome. They make my ass wanna curse and eat a burger.

Seriously though, I have nothing to give to this man but pity.
Structuring your life and your company’s moral standards around the past millennium’s best selling work of fiction, and using it to justify your intolerance is lame. Sure the Bible was a best seller but there were only like 10 books printed in that first millenium probably and ain’t nobody had a kindle.

Dan Cathy’s unwillingness to change with the times and tweak his definition of “family” is like a crackhead trying to stand up in a canoe. They think they can do it and are over confident and then they’re like “ooooh…not a good…” then they’re wet and I’m laughing at them. I’m currently trying to have a family (my boyfriend and I have had 2 failed attempts at IVF) and I will never allow my children to bring Chick-fil-A into my house. Now if they wanna eat it in the yard, I can’t stop em. But all jokes aside, put your money where you mouth is GLBT people and don’t eat there. ESPECIALLY if you’re a drag queen. You don’t wanna get transfat, do you?

Ball’s in your court Danny.

'I Am A Pole' manuscript joins Rosenbach Museum

0
0

The press department for the Rosenbach Museum refers to Stephen Colbert's book "I Am A Pole (And So Can You!)" as a "children's book," quotations included.

But inside the Philadephia museum, Colbert's work sits alongside the real stuff.

The institution’s latest acquisition, the manuscript for Colbert’s rhyming story about a pole that discovers its patriotic duty, is now a bona fide part of the museum's rare books collection, joining works written by Abraham Lincoln and James Joyce.

From now until November, visitors are encouraged to test Colbert’s manuscript against the museum's pride, a handwritten version of Joyce's "Ulysses." The "Ulysses" manuscript will sit in a glass case beside the original "I Am A Pole” manuscript, along with odds and ends that Colbert deemed relevant -- the empty bottle of Bud Light Lime he says he drained while writing his contribution, the pen and a backup one he kept close, a receipt for the turkey sandwich that kept him going.

"People might wonder why we would do something like this," Rosenbach director Derick Dreher told The Huffington Post in a phone interview. "Isn’t it risky? Or silly? I would say anything we can do that makes 'Ulysses' relevant on an ongoing basis is worth doing."

It’s the sort of publicity stunt Colbert is famous for championing. If the move is gently opportunistic on the museum’s part -- a way to show the public that it's not just offering a “collection of old stuff,” as Dreher said -- it's also not entirely random. One explicit link to Joyce appears early on in Colbert’s text, in the opening lines.

"Colbert has written, 'I am a penguin,' and 'penguin' is crossed out, and then 'I am a stately, plump Buck Mulligan,' and that’s crossed out, and then 'I am a pole,''' explained Patrick Rodgers, a Rosenbach curator. "That’s a reference to the very first lines of 'Ulysses.''' (Joyce's full line reads: "Stately, plump Buck Mulligan came from the stairhead, bearing a bowl of lather on which a mirror and a razor lay crossed.")

The reference is explained clearly at the museum, so visitors other than "the four people who’ve read 'Ulysses'" will catch it, Dreher said. He added that Colbert is "actually a huge fan" of Joyce’s 1000-odd-page overhaul of the English language. This might not surprise anyone who heard Colbert's 2011 commencement speech at Northwestern University, when he recalled student days of wearing turtlenecks and muttering dark scholarly soliloquies. "He is hugely knowledgeable," Dreher said. "He had all sorts of questions for us about what specific passages look like in the original."

The exhibit also explores Colbert's relationship with the late Maurice Sendak; the Rosenbach has an extensive collection of the illustrator's work. It was after seeing the much-passed around video of Colbert interviewing Sendak that the Rosenbach decided to develop a permanent Colbert collection. The interview's artifacts -- Colbert's and Sendak's side-by-side drawings, the bag of "censored" bits that Colbert cut out of the nude scenes in Sendak's "The Night Kitchen" -- are part of the acquisition.

Dreher, who announced the news in a segment on Tuesday night's "Colbert Report," told The Huffington Post that the exhibit is a “new and risky interpretation” that Joyce would have hated -- something that doesn't bother him in the least.

"This is really going to show people who haven't seen the 'Ulysses' manuscript that this is a worthwhile endeavor. You can’t just sit back and assume people will care. What they have is respect for and interest in Colbert. When he says 'Ulysses' is interesting, that gives it real credibility. Now they're interested."

Emma Stone's Red Carpet Evolution

0
0

It was some time last summer when we began taking note of actress Emma Stone's exceptional red carpet style. Appearance after appearance, her sartorial choices began to stand out amongst her stylish peers. Along with her gorgeous clothes, there was always a stunning beauty look to match, whether it be a bright fuchsia lip, a dramatic cat eye, or her ever-changing hair color ranging from sultry red to sunny blonde. Let's take a look at some of her most memorable red carpet looks of the past year.

Last July, Emma's color blocked Giambattista Valli top and skirt worn to the NY premiere of Friends With Benefits was the look that first put her on our fashion radar. Skillfully contrasting red and fuchsia with a fashion-forward peplum skirt made her a true standout. Shortly before that, she wore a sheer lace Bottega Veneta dress to the 2011 MTV Movie Awards. It was black lace again for the NY premiere of Crazy, Stupid, Love in a stunning dress from Tom Ford. For the UK premiere of The Help last October, Emma turned heads in a floor-length polka dot gown by Luca Luca.

Proving that she doesn't need a gown to make an impression on the red carpet, Emma wore a chic take on the lady tux from Gucci to the 2012 People's Choice Awards in January. The emerald green jacket perfectly offset her trademark red hair. At the Golden Globes later that month, she looked every bit the glamorous movie star in a custom-made plum hued gown from Lanvin. A custom-made Alexander McQueen dress was her pick for the 2012 SAG Awards.

In March, Emma looked fresh and young on the orange carpet at the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards in an Antonio Berardi top and skirt. Last month, she was the lady in red at the Schiaparelli and Prada Costume Institute Gala. Her flirty Lanvin dress featured hand embroidered crystal flowers custom made by designer Alber Elbaz. This past weekend at the MTV Movie Awards, Emma's stunning peplum top and skirt from Martin Grant landed her on many best dressed lists.

We look forward to watching Emma Stone's flawless red carpet style as it continues to evolve!

IMO I still think this is overall one of her best looks to date!

Is the former MR. KARDASHIAN...a.k.a. KRIS HUMPHRIES...getting his AZZ sent to the BOBCATS?

0

1ck9Ko.Em.138

The Charlotte Bobcats could end up with power forward Kris Humphries, should the Brooklyn Nets use him in a sign-and-trade to help facilitate a deal for Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard.

An NBA source confirms the Bobcats would be interested in Humphries, but only if he signs a one-season contract, rather than the multi-year deal he reportedly prefers. Various reports have the Cavaliers accepting Humphries, in return for a future first-round pick from the Nets, in order to make a deal work under the salary cap. The Bobcats could take Humphries, but only if he’s playing under a short-term deal, the source confirmed.

Humphries, 27, averaged 13.8 points, 11.1 rebounds and shot 48 percent from the field last season. He’s an unrestricted free agent but can make more per season re-signing with the Nets, even in a sign-and-trade, than signing outright with another team.

Bobcats general manager Rich Cho has indicated he’d like to add another big man to the roster. A center might make more sense, but Humphries’ rebounding productivity and shooting percentage would help a team deficient in both areas.

ESPN reported Monday the Bobcats also might be interested in Nets shooting guard MarShon Brooks, rumored to be in a proposed deal for Howard. A source said Brooks probably wouldn’t fit in the Bobcats’ plans.

Bryan Cranston Says a 'Breaking Bad' Movie Sequel Is “Not Far-Fetched,” Plus Teaser Photos

0
0

For four seasons straight, creator Vince Gilligan has overseen a near-perfect narrative of suspense and drama in “Breaking Bad,” and it has all been in service of showing Walter White through his inevitable path to darkness. As the series enters its fifth season next month, viewers are ready to finally see that bleak conclusion, but a few choice words from Bryan Cranston recently regarding his character have entertained other potential avenues to come.
Although initial decisions were to maintain the series' narrative as airtight as possible, Cranston revealed to the LA Times that Gilligan might have underestimated the sprawl of his characters' journey. “Vince feels that now we have too much story,” Cranston said. “We could actually go beyond those 16 episodes.” Naturally, as with other shows like “24” and “Deadwood,” the logical extension would be a feature film finale of sorts, and the actor isn't completely against that idea. “It's not far-fetched,” he commented, “I wouldn't mind visiting that possibility. And this is coming from a guy who doesn't know anything of how the show's going to end.”

That last bit of Cranston's comment makes for the most hesitation, because with the actor in the dark about his character's endgame, Gilligan could be (and most likely is) reading these comments and chuckling devilishly. Still, even with the tragic arc of the series thus far, Cranston still seems somewhat optimistic, as he posits the film could “revisit Walter White a year down the road and see where his life has gone. If he's still alive, that is.”

One aspect gone unmentioned by Cranston is the possibility of Walter White becoming simply the most odious person to base a film around. Speaking on the upcoming season, Gilligan added, “[Walter's] going to be a harder guy to root for, I promise you that. The experiment of the show has been to take a good guy and have him transform himself into a bad guy. And we're committed to seeing that through to the very end.”

Whatever that end is, we'll have to wait and see, but considering Gilligan's track record thus far, a bit of blind faith could certainly be spared for “Breaking Bad,” the new season of which starts July 15th. And in the meantime, check out some teaser photos (via Collider) hinting at possible character dynamics and story arcs below.

there'd really be no point to a movie since each episode is like a movie in itself. ngl tho, I'm curious about how they would handle one.

Patti Smith to appear on Red Hot Chili Pepper Flea's solo EP

0

Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea has revealed that Patti Smith will appear on his new solo EP.

In a series of tweets, he wrote that the proceeds to the self-recorded EP, 'Helen Burn's, will go towards Silverlake Conservatory for Music, the music school he set up in 2001.

"I am putting out an EP I made by myself in a couple of days. It is obscure arty mostly instrumental music, except when Patti Smith sings," he wrote. "All proceeds from my Helen Burns EP will go towards the Silverlake Conservatory of Music".

The release will use a Radiohead-style pay-what-you-want model, he wrote: "It will be available for download at any price you want to pay, it will be a donation to the Silverlake Conservatory of Music". However, an autographed vinyl version of the EP containing a piece of bass string will cost $75.

For fans hoping to a Red Hot Chili Peppers-style record, Flea says the sound is completely different, writing: "I recorded most of the EP when we finished our tour for 'Stadium Arcadium'. It is not RHCP music or even close to it. It is a trippy freakout".

Full details of how to get hold of the EP will be announced in the next two days.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are set to release 18 singles over the next six months. The tracks, which were all recorded during the band's sessions for their 2011 studio album 'I'm With You', will be released as nine double A-sided 7'' singles from August 11.

Pulp, Hot Chip, Warpaint, Black Lips and James Murphy to headline Coachella Cruise

The organisers of Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival have announced that they will be launching a Coachella cruise, which is due to set sail in December.

Headlined by Pulp, Hot Chip, Warpaint and Grimes, the floating festival, named the SS Coachella, will head to the Bahamas between December 16-19 and then to Jamaica December between 19-23. Prices start at $500.

Organisers are already touting a series of at-sea activities, including DJ tutorials and wine tastings hosted by former LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy.

Speaking about the event, Yeasayer’s manager Jason Foster told the LA Times "It probably seems a little posh, and it's not the most punk rock thing you could probably do… This is a chance to play someplace we've never been. We've never tasted cruise ship food, and we've never played shuffleboard with our fans."

The Coachella voyage is the latest artist-based cruise to set sail after similar trips including Weezer’s Caribbean festival and R Kelly’s Love Letter Cruise.

Beck has announced that he will be debuting three brand new songs on the soundtrack to new computer game Sound Shapes.

The tracks, which are titled 'Cities', 'Touch The People' and 'Spiral Staircase', will each feature on a different level of the game, which is due for release next month.

According to Sony, the new PS3 adventure Sound Shapes is "a classic side-scrolling platformer where your actions make the music".

As well as Beck, Deadmau5, I Am Robot And Proud and Jim Guthrie will also contribute music. The game itself will be released on August 17.

Last month, Beck released his Jack White-produced track 'I Just Started Hating Some People Today' along with a new B-Side 'Blue Randy'. The two tracks were recorded last year at the Third Man Studio in Nashville when Beck was in the Tennessee city recording the follow-up to 2008's 'Modern Guilt'.

Beck joins the likes of Tom Jones, Laura Marling and Insane Clown Posse in recording and releasing one-off singles on White's Third Man Records.

The singer has not released any details about the follow-up to 'Modern Guilt', with the only postings about the album coming from bass player Justin Meldal-Johnsen, who tweeted that Beck's new material "would blow your mind".

‘Dark Knight Rises’ May Top TDK With $198 Million Debut

0
0

“The Dark Knight Rises,” the third and last Warner Bros. film with Christian Bale as Batman, may generate as much as $198 million in its opening weekend to become the second-biggest U.S. debut of all time.

The forecasts from industry researchers, ranging from a low of $170 million, would mark the best Batman opening ever, while falling short of the record $207.4 million posted in May by “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Walt Disney Co. (DIS)’s superhero film.

“‘The Avengers’ was the first out of the gate,” said Ben Carlson, co-founder of the research firm Fizziology. “Now it’s the heart of the movie season and there’s a big film released every week.”

“The Dark Knight Rises” also follows the July 3 opening of “The Amazing Spider-Man,” creating more competition for superhero fans, according to Carlson, who said the picture is generating less buzz on social media such as Facebook and Twitter. The movie, the last Batman film from series director Christopher Nolan, will probably become one of studio parent Time Warner Inc. (TWX)’s two biggest releases this year.

“The Dark Knight Rises,” co-starring Tom Hardy as the villain Bane, cost about $250 million to make, according to the Internet Movie Database. The film accounted for 85 percent of yesterday’s advance sales at Fandango.com, the ticket site owned by Comcast Corp., according to Harry Medved, a spokesman.

It’s one of the few tentpole pictures not in 3-D this year. Nolan has said he doesn’t like the technology.

Wow! Benedict Cumberbatch's fans raise over $7000 for charity in honor of his birthday.

Whether you're a fan of Benedict or not, I thought that it would be nice to share this heartwarming news. :)

The unofficial fansite, CumberbatchWeb started a donation drive for the Teenage Cancer Trust in honor of Benedict's birthday. Originally hoping to raise $250, fans rallied together and surpassed it by thousands!

The website's tumblr has posted this message:

"In case you missed it on twitter Benedict has kindly sent a thank you message via his friend for the fundraising.

Benedict said:

“The amount of effort, love, joy and celebration as well as money raised! I’m speechless. Pls pass on my love and gratitude. Thank you!! Bx”

Really incredibly sweet of him to take the time to do that.

And the collection now stands at over £7000! Thank you so so much to everyone who contributed. I never could have imagined in a million years that Benedict’s wonderful fans would raise so much!"

I'm also including a video interview which was made a few days ago when he did a WWI poetry reading at the Cheltenham Music Festival. In it, he gives us some information about Parade's End as well as his part in 12 Years A slave.

And happy birthday Mr. Cumberbatch!

Are Thor 2 villains revealed?

0
0
Rumors of "Thor - The Dark World" enemies seem to be confirmed.

Stuntman James Grogan (Snow White and the Huntsman) has let it slip already a month ago that they are training to be elves for the Thor 2 film. Now it's getting spread.
As the title "The Dark World" reveald on SDCC this year already points to the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim this seems to be very likely now.

However what we don’t know is which intergalactic foe or group of foes The Mighty Thor will be aiming his hammer at. Thanks to a brief chat with Hollywood stuntman James Grogan, we may have our answer. Whilst discussing the importance of acting chops in stunt work, Grogan related the experience to a certain Marvel film that he’s currently training for. “The other day for example, this is quite random but I was working on Thor 2,” he explains, “I had a load of stunt guys in and the director came in and he said ‘Look, we want you all to be elves,’ and I was like ‘What the hell is an elf anyway?’ and he said ‘I want you all to walk around like these supernatural animals,’ honestly it was the most ridiculous thing ever but you just have to not be self aware and get on with it.”

Since the title is Thor: The Dark World it's pretty safe to assume that he is referring to the dark elves. Which would then lead us to believe that their leader, Malekith the Accursed, is one of the main villains. Now we already know that Tom Hiddleston is returning as Loki, and there is a popular story that links him with Malekith. In the comic book Thor #344 Loki and Malekith formed an alliance in order to secure the Casket of Ancient Winters. Perhaps they will use this story arc for the sequel, or perhaps not.

Info about the Dark Elves, Malekith and the possible story arch of The Casket of Ancient Winters

Dark Elves -
The Dark Elves are ruled over by Malekith the Accursed, and the most powerful amongst their ranks was Algrim the Strong. However, Algrim was betrayed by Malekith in a bid to kill Thor. Algrim was dropped into lava and though he survived, he was critically wounded. The Beyonder transformed Algrim into the monstrous Kurse, who seemingly kills Malekith for the betrayal. Years later, Malekith reveals that he survived, and he sets forth an ultimately unsuccessful plot for Hercules to kill Alflyse, the Dark Elf Queen of the Eastern Spires.

The trio of Bitterhand, Wormwood, and Grendell serve Malekith loyally and have attempted to destroy Thor on several occasions, including once while Mjolnir was being reforged

Malekith -

Malekith the Accursed ruled the Dark Elves of Svartalfheim. Malekith mastered sorcery, making him a formidable ally to the other enemies of Asgard. He formed an alliance with the god of mischief Loki on behalf of Surtur. Not long after that agreement, he used a special food provided to him by Hela. The food contained some sort of magic, which gave him control of the humans of Earth. While continuing his quest, he took the life of Eric Willis, guardian of the Casket of Ancient Winters. Before his death Willis conveyed the Casket's location to Loki. Not willing to give up his quest, Malekith Kidnapped the Asgardian Lorelei in order to gain control of the god of Thunder. Thor discovered that he had been tricked into falling for a stack of wood, and became enraged as he learned that the real Lorelei was being held captive by Malekith. Lorelei was eventually freed but, Thor was forced to battle Algrim the Strong. Malekith attempted to destroy both combatants by plunging them into a pit of molten magma; subsequently Malekith retrieved the Casket of Ancient Winters, from the being known as Jagrfelm. Shortly after Jagrfelm's death, Malekith released its power upon Asgard in his quest to rule all nine worlds.

The Casket of Ancient Winters -
An Asgardian relic and the greatest weapon of Malekith the Accursed. When opened, it can reproduce the infinite icy cold of Niflheim. Later entrusted to the care of Edwin Jarvis, butler to the Avengers, by Thor. Causes its holder to grow younger gradually.- Wiki
