Sophie Turner on the Game of Thrones Rape Scene

A fan asked Sophie at Comic Con why they decided to focus on Theon's tears and pain during the rape scene instead of Sansa and why did Sophie say that she "loved" filming the scene in an interview before.

“You’ll have to ask why they focused on Theon, because I was giving a great performance,” the actress said jokingly. “I think Sansa has gone through a lot, and has developed skills from Margaery and others. But she’s just as strong as before.

What’s she’s been doing this whole series is just getting by without doing anything totally radical because that could totally change her situation—she could die.”“I think she thought it through in her head. She could have fought back if she wanted to. But she didn’t,” she added. “She’s one of those characters that does her scheming in her mind, not outwardly.”

I get what she's saying but show Sansa's passiveness is irritating now. Book Sansa isn't this passive (she fights back when Lysa tries to kill her and takes the risk to seek out Dontos).

If they could show Cersei being defiant and strong against her abusers and also show her pain then why not Sansa? Thinking about it now, Cersei and Arya were the only consistently written women in season 5 imo.

Leaked Suicide Squad Trailer

Suicide Squad comes out in August of 2016, and stars Will Smith, Viola Davis, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Cara Delevingne, Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Adam Beach, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, and Karen Fukuhara. It's directed by David Ayer and ties into the greater DC film universe that DC is trying to make (there's a reference to Superman in the trailer, and you can also see Batman for a second).

The film is about Amada Waller putting together a group of supervillains to actually try and do some good, and if they happen to fuck up well you can just blame them because no one's supposed to know who their "bosses" are. A trailer aired at Comic-Con.

  • Tom Hiddleston on who he'd like to meet at SDCC 2015:“I’m sorry I missed Bill Murray. I heard he was here the other day. I’ve never met Bill Murray and I’d like to; I think he’s a fairly cool cat.”
  • Tom on the Star Wars cast:“It’d be pretty cool to meet those guys, wouldn’t it? The original trio.”
  • Tom on potentially being cast in any upcoming Star Wars movies (lol):“[laughs] I don’t know about that. But we’ll see.”
  • Jessica Chastain loves cosplay“But I’ve been told, in the convention center, that’s where I’m going to find my people." She also thought about going incognito in costume; “Princess Leia in the outfit with Jabba the Hutt. With the neck-chain and the bikini, yes! That or Brienne of Tarth, but I’m not very tall, so that could be a problem. I’d have to wear stilts.”
  • Jessica is a total fangirl:“Game of Thrones, Star Wars… Outlander, I’m a new fan of that show. Have you seen it? The first season — that is a hot show. The end of the second season was tough on me, I was not expecting that journey to happen. I have complicated emotions.” (don't we all...)
  • Mia Wasikowska on working with GDT:“He makes you feel really at ease, and wants you to feel like you own your character and that your opinion is important.”
  • Jessica on preparing for Crimson Peak: del Toro wrote a 10-page-long character biography for her and she says “And at a rehearsal with Tom and Guillermo in London where we had our biographies and we were talking through them and reading them, I asked him [Tom] and said, ‘Please don’t read anything in your biography that you wouldn’t let your sister know. I only want to know things that Lucille would know. Keep your secrets.'”

    Panel highlights:
  • GDT wanted "classic" and "artistic": Crimson Peak will be a classic gothic romance with no twists that don't fit the temporal setting or the style of the movie. "I'm very very happy to say that I felt for the first time completely free to make an adult movie in the English language. And I hope you guys enjoy the hell out of it."
  • No change in Thomas Sharpe's character after Benedict Cumberbatch was replaced by the superior Tom Hiddleston: GDT says he didn't rewrite the role or tailor it to Tom at all.
  • Tom Hiddleston as a Hall H legend: GDT joked that no one should cheer for Tom when he comes out (they did and very, very loudly) and as they left, Tom came back to the mic and said "I love you all," to which the host Chris Hardwick (The Nerdist) added "And now you're all pregnant. That's how that works. Enjoy your Hiddlebabies."
  • New footage and a Crimson Peak horror maze: GDT showed new footage of the film, then revealed Universal Studios is creating a Crimson Peak maze for their Haunted Horror Nights in the fall! Watch the video of the announcement:

    While explaining her support for anti-America, anti-fat bio-terrorist Ariana Grande, Susan Sarandon spilled the beans on Ariana's big screen debut in Zoolander 2.

    The delapidated actress said in an interview: "Well, I just worked with her. We did Zoolander 2 together, in Rome. She couldn’t be more professional or sweet. Her mom is great. Clearly [her remarks were] taken out of context. But of all the things — if only that energy was put to the study of the effects of GMOs, which affect your health a lot more than licking a doughnut. People should be outraged by what Monsanto is doing, not Ariana. She’s smart, and she’s a really great, very talented person. It’s just ridiculous they’re jumping on her the way they are."

    Justin Bieber will also be featured in the abomination, due out February 12, 2016.

    Singer collapses mid-flight after wearing all of his clothes to avoid luggage fee

    • James McElvar of the boyband Rewind collapsed on flight with heat exhaustion after wearing all of his clothes which included his regular outfit, six t-shirts, five sweaters, three pairs of jeans, two pairs of sweatpants, two jackets and two hats.

    • James didn't want to pay the luggage fees on EasyJet for a flight from London to Glasgow with his band

    • The fee was £45 ($69.83)



    The bands twitter said Wednesday James was recovering in the hospital

    Quentin Tarantino hints at a future for "Kill Bill"




    "Never say never to 'Kill Bill 3.' Uma [Thurman] would really like to do it. We talk

    Ennio Morricone will score his first western in 40 years
    with Tarantino's The Hateful Eight!




    It was announced during a Hateful Eight panel at Comic-Con today (July 11)

    "I want to make one announcement that people don't know yet. It wasn't for sure, but
    we just settled it. You guys know that I don't use an original score in my movies, I
    kinda take scores from other movies and put 'em in there. This one, I thought should
    have an original score. So I'm here to announce that the great Ennio Morricone will be
    doing the score for The Hateful Eight. He's writing right now, and recording in Prague
    in the next couple of weeks."


    Tarantino suggests he may do a TV Mini-Series




    "If I can’t shoot on film, if I can’t release on film… we’ll see what happens. I like
    the idea of leaving and having people wanting more, maybe there are 10 movies but three
    mini-series for television. My scripts get cut down anyway. If I wrote a script and it’s
    eight hours, then we’ll be all good."

    'Rise of the Tomb Raider' updates

    Rise of the Tomb Raider is the sequel to 2013's Tomb Raider reboot. After the supernatural events on Yamatai Island, Lara goes out of her way to prove she's not "insane" and to look for some answers in the ancient city of Kitezh in Serbia. It will be released on November 10th for Xbox One and Xbox 360. No date has been confirmed for the PS4.
